The Champion Mode in Fight Night Champion introduces something new to the Fight Night series, as you follow protagonist Andre Bishop in his search for glory and redemption. This guide (accompanied by a video) will walk you through the tricky six rounder against the big punching Keyshawn Hayes.
Before the fight even begins you are warned on a couple of occasions the power Hayes possesses in his left hook. It’s inevitable that you will be dropped by it at one point, but you still have to have some tricks up your sleeve to avoid further knockdown’s and a loss as a result. This is one of the toughest fights in Champion Mode for a reason!
Cautious boxing is the way to go. Keep your guard up and don’t throw any 3-4+ punch combination’s which could leave you vulnerable. Also, keep moving to your left which will result in Hayes having less success with his signature punch because you’re moving away from his left hook.
Once you have the defense sorted, you can begin to plot your attack. Hayes has questionable stamina and punch resistance, so a solid counter might be all it takes to finish him off. But working both the head and body and aiming for a late stoppage is the most viable option. Keep working him over and you should be able to end the fight in the 5th or 6th round…maybe earlier!
