In a way this is some sort of an oxymoron. Brink promises to be one of the most customizable experiences in FPS games today. But I suppose you still have to categorize the characters some way so let’s break down the classes in the new First Person Shooter from Bethesda.

In this Guide we will focus on the Engineer class.

Return to Top General

The object of the Engineer class is to “establish and defend Tactical zones, deploy and repair automated defensive systems, and improve your teams weapons.”

The engineer is designed to be a support class that aids the other members as they push forward in the match. To help aide in this by being equipped with a Repair Tool used repair or build objectives. They can also build turrets and machine gun nests. On of the coolest attributes is the ability to boost a teammates weapon damage for a short period of time.

Another important aspect is that they are the only player who can defuse the high explosive bombs that are placed by Soldiers and can remove Hacking devices that were placed by Operatives.

Their included Equipment is
Repair Tool
Pyro Mines
Weapon Upgrade Tool

Return to Top Pyro Mines

A player can lay these mines by selecting it the ability shortcut. Then a white outline of the Mine will show up on your HUD and you can move it around to wear you wanna place it.

If the outline turns red you cannot place a mine in this location. After you find a spot hold the action button to lay it down.

Mines will be hidden to the enemy team on the map, however Operatives can spot mines for their team with a radar and enemy Engineers can defuse mines.

Return to Top Weapon Buffs

When you find a teammate and you want to buffer their stats, attempt to interact with them. The Engineer will use his upgrade tool and it will take effect immediately. If an Engineer wants to use this on themselves it will take a moment.

If you are not in range of your teammate but hit the Upgrade tool you will automatically run into range. But if you move in any direction it will interrupt this.

Return to Top Construction

This is a very important aspect of an Engineers abilities. You’ll do this by approaching the object and interacting with it. During Construction you have to stay in contact with the item. However if you leave to perform a task you can return and continue where you left off.
