When Brink comes out on May 10th it will introduce one of the most advance customization systems we have seen in a multiplayer game. Not only can you add some tattoos and a beanie or 2 but you can actually customize your build and your abilities. This guide will help introduce you to all the parameters you will be playing with to create your dream player in Brink.
Creation Options
There are 11 different options you can change to create your player.
-Archetypes
This option will kinda be your default start, the general theme of your character.
After you select if your character will be Security or Resistance you will have these jumping off points to pick from.
-Security
The Bomb
The Bouncer
The Bug
The Eel
The Freak
The Good Cop
The Jesse
The Look
The Shield
The Tank
The Tank Vest
The Unit
-Resistance
The Anger
The Boiler Suit
The Dude
The Firestarter
The Fortress
The G
The Lost
The Sweat
The Voice
The Warrior
The Wasted
The Straps
Now you will take that character and fine tune him in these categories.
-Hair
This option will control the look of your hair.
-Face Overlay
This option controls different aspects of your face like scars, bandages or bruises.
-Head Gear
Various hats, masks and helmets.
-Face Gear
This controls items on your face such as clothing, gas masks, or glasses. Things that are not a feature.
-Outer Top
This controls whatever your character will be wearing on top. They vary from nothing to crazy trash bag clothing or armor made from tires.
-Pants
Various types of bottoms for you to choose from.
-Under Top
his option has T-shirts and tank tops to wear under.
-Voice Pack
There is a selection of ascents for you to choose from for your character.
-Body Size
This option will change your build and size and WILL affect your gameplay.
-Tattoos
This option, as expected, allows you to choose from tattoos.
Body Type
As we mentioned before the Body Type area is the only one that will affect your gameplay. Depending on your choice your mobility, weapon type, and build will be different. There are 3 categories to choose from.
-Light
Health: Low
Speed/Mobility: High (able to climb story-tall objects,wall hopping, and fastest running speed)
Primary weapon selection: Light and Lower
Secondary weapon selection: Handguns
-Medium
Health: Medium
Speed/Mobility: Medium (can vault,mantel,higher jump distance and faster running speed)
Primary weapon selection: Medium and Lower
Secondary weapon selection: Light size guns and Lower
-Heavy
Health: High
Speed/Mobility: Low (only vault over waist high objects and slowest running speed)
Primary weapon selection: Heavy guns and lower
Secondary weapon selection: Medium size guns and lower
Abilities
At the cost of in game credits a player will be able to customize their characters abilities as well. There will be 58 abilities to unlock with said credits. The abilities also have a rank requirement.
Battle Hardened (1 credit)
Increases a characters life meter by one pip.
Combat Intuition (1 credit)
Allows a player to sense if an unseen enemy has the character in their sights.
Downed Fire(1 credit)
Lets the player shoot at enemies even when incapacitated.
Sense of Perspective (1 credit)
Snaps the players view to 3rd person perspective while completing objectives, allowing the player to watch the characters back.
Silent Running (1 credit)
Allows the player to navigate without making any noise.
Sprinting Reload (1 credit)
Lets the player be able to reload while sprinting.
Sprinting Grenade (1 credit)
Lets the player be able throw a grenade while sprinting.
Grenade Shooting (1 credit)
Allows the player to be able to shoot a grenade that has been thrown.
Supply Max Increase (1 credit)
Increases the characters supply meter by one pip.
Each specialized class will have it own abilities which can be customized and leveled up as well.
