Brink is out and players all around the world are realizing that the classes are very important in Brink. Each class is essential to certain objectives and each class brings something special to the table ability wise. In this guide we are looking at the Operative Class in Brink.
Operatives are the spies of Brink, the main purpose is to infiltrate and hack computers to complete certain objectives. One of the coolest ability’s of the Operative is that they can disguise themselves as the enemy and infiltrate deep into enemy territory. They are also the only class capable of spotting enemy land mines.
Your main focus as an Operative should be to function as special operations and focus on flanking the enemy and sabotaging their efforts in the battle. The Operatives best friend is there Personal Digital Assistant. They use their PDA to hack different devices in the playing environment.
The Operative will spend most of their time behind enemy lines away from the rest of the squad. Because of this a majority of his abilities are designed to counter the other teams efforts and slow them down.
Abilities
-Standard Operative Kit
Hacking
Hacking can be done from short or long range but the closer you can get the faster the hack will be. Your PDA and the device will give you feedback on the status of the hack. If you move around during the hack you will give off a beep sound. You can interrupt the hack to clear some enemies from the area and then resume it later.
Disguise
A cool feature of the Operative is the ability to disguise yourself as an enemy player. If the body type is different the disguise will still work. If you are spotted while interacting with the dead body the disguise will not work. After the disguise is in effect you have to watch what you do when around the enemy. You will lose the disguise if you interact with an objective.

-Firewall Command Post
This ability makes it take longer for the enemy team to capture your sides Health or Supply Command Post.
Rank 2 Unlock
-Homing Beacon
This allows you to place a red outline on any player by putting the Iron SIghts on them for a few seconds. This allows all your teammates to see him even through walls, and reveals enemy Operatives in disguise.

-Comms Hack
This allows you to extract tactical intel from downed enemies. If it works the entire enemy team will show up on the radar giving your team the advantage.

-Sticky Bomb
This ability allows you to throw a grenade that sticks to the enemy and can only be removed by teammates. After it sticks if the cooldown timer goes down and it is still active it detonates.

-Caltrop Grenades
These grenades scatter sharp spikes in a blast area and damage enemies who cross over them. The do not harm teammates and will last throughout the cool down period.

-Hack Turret
This ability allows you to take enemy turrets and make them work for your side.

-Control Turret
This ability allows you to take First Person control of friendly turrets. To use you will have to place the device on the turret then interact with it from a distance. When using the Operative will share kill points with the Engineer who built the turret.

-Cortex Bomb
This bomb is a surgically planted charge detonated while you are incapacitated.

-EMP Grenade
These grenades temporarily disable enemy turrets, mines, and radars. They can also slow down the progress of Hacks and HE Charges.
