Portal 2 Chapter 6 – The Fall [Guide]

So things didn’t exactly go according to plan did they? GLaDOS is now a potato and Wheatley is losing his mind as the alpha controller of the entire facility and now you are stuck in the very depths of Aperture Labs. But as long as you have your portal gun then we have a chance at this thing. So lets take on chapter 6 of Portal 2, named The Fall.

Return to Top Area 1

To start this area off follow the path to the chain link fence. Use your portal gun to get to the other side. Try not to be overwhelmed by the size of the area, just keep following the path and if you get stuck look for portal friendly walls. Eventually you will reach a giant vault door, to get it open you will have to pull two levers that are on opposite sides of the area. After you pull the first lever you will only have a few seconds to pull the second so you will have to be quick. Its pretty easy, one portal in one office and one in the other, now just pull and get going. After the giant vault door is opened you can enter through a smaller door nearby.

After you head through the door you will be along side a dock yard. Keep an eye out for a broken door where you will use your portal gun to get to the other side. Up ahead a little you will fire a blue portal at the wall nearby and an orange one on top of the scaffolding in the top right. Now look all the way down and fire a Blue Portal. Put an Orange one on the angled wall then drop down through. You will pull your momentum flying trick to go through the Aperture logo.

Now get to the elevator and take it up. Once at the top look down and place a blue portal at the bottom of the elevator shaft. Now look up at the angled wall by the two doors on the catwalk, throw a orange portal on the wall and pull off another momentum jump, this one is a big one. This should put you by pump station Alpha, here you must pull al lever to get the machinery started. Now look at the ceiling in the corner to find the exit. Portal on up there and walk down the pipe to the elevator.

Return to Top Area 3

In this area we will be introduced to the blue Repulsion Gel. This is bouncy gel that will make surfaces act as a trampoline. Pretty simple here just jump onto the gel and bounce to the other side. Portal on up to the higher area and hit the button here. On the other side is a switch to drop a cube that can be placed on the switch. Use the blue gel to bounce over to where the cube switch is. Get the cube and get back to the button to open the door. Now bounce on over and out the door.

Here you will need to portal up to the high catwalk and drop off to the left side to get to the next room. Put an orange portal on the wall panel that is on the ceiling in the right corner above the moving platform. Put a blue portal close to get on the platform. Use a portal to get to the other side of the room where the button is. That button will expose a wall panel higher up that will face the exit. put an orange portal on it and a blue one near you. Step through and pull the bounce move to get to the other side. Go trough the grid and you will see blue gel over the sides of the walls. Now bounce back and forth off the walls till you get to the other side. Grab the cube and get back over to the switch.

Another wall panel will appear higher up. Put an orange portal on it and fire a blue portal close to step through and pull the bounce move to get to the lift on the other side.

Return to Top Area 4

Use the twisted metal to get across the water to where the columns are. Up top you will see a catwalk, shoot an orange portal at it, and a blue on on a column close by to step through and get up there. Now you should be able to see the testing area so portal your way in.

A switch here will cause the blue gel to start flowing. The goal here will be to spread the blue gel all over the ground to give you a bounce pad. Once you have it where you can bounce through the Emancipation Grid you should put a orange portal on the angled panel but do not go through the grid again because all the portals you have placed will be erased. Now put a blue portal under the gel spout and watch as the gel goes flying!

Now fire a blue portal on the floor and drop through, you should fly out the angled panel and bounce to the exit.

Return to Top Area 5

When you enter this area you will see a gel dispenser and some water flowing from a pipe. There is a switch in the wall that shuts off the water. Put a blue portal under the gel and an orange one under the switch so you will be able to bounce up there and hit it. The water washes away the gel so you will have to be quick. You will only have a few seconds to get an orange portal on the angled wall facing the metal screen. The gel will shoot where the water was then quickly jump on the spot and get up to the other side.

Here you will see a little bit of blue gel dripping down. Put a blue portal on the angled wall and an orange one under the dripping gel. Look up and put a orange portal on the wall near some metal scaffolding and a blue one close and step through. from on the high rise put a blue portal on the angled wall and below you and drop on through. Now you should bounce off the wall and on to the next area.

There is a glass box suspended from the ceiling and it has a cube inside. On the far wall is a dispenser putting out blue gel and some water. Put a blue portal under the gel and an orange portal above the glass box. This will fill the box with blue gel and bounce the cube out.

But what good is this bouncy blue box? Well take it over to the water and wash it off so it is good as new. Put the box on the button and stand on the lift that will come down. Once on the lift put an orange portal above it to get the box to bounce off the button. This will cause the lift to rise and you can get to the exit.

Return to Top Area 6

Once you get off the elevator look to your left and fire an orange portal on the wall near the catwalk. Go into the room up ahead and as soon as you enter put a blue portal on the wall behind you. Step through and head to the door at the end of the catwalk.

This will put you into another pump room. Put a blue portal straight ahead and an orange one above the catwalk. Once up there look down at the floor panels. Put a blue portal on the closest panel and an orange one on the farther one. Now step off and through the blue portal. On your way back up put a blue portal at the panel facing the exit and watch the momentum take care of it.

In the last section you will notice a angled wall to the left and a catwalk that has seen better days. Portal up to the catwalk and look down. Put an orange portal below and a blue one one the angled wall and pull the fall fly (that’s copyrighted). You’ll land near an office and inside you will meet your arch enemy only now things are different. Use the fall fly outside to get to the exit and out of this chapter.
