GRAPHICS & SOUND:
Remember Final Fantasy for the SNES?? You know Bartz, Galuf and the works? Well this is pretty much that, the graphics aren’t really that great but at the same time they are…when I customized my avatar I felt great, man all of that 8 bit glory is here and it’s fantastic. I love the style of the game and I think it’s awesome indeed. The enemies are beautifully done in the same style, a lot of simplicity and details at the same time. The background maintain the same look and are all we need for proper interaction. Explosions and other effects follows the same line and it’s all coherent, it all works, it’s all good. The sounds are retro but not so much which is great since you’ll be spending quite some time in front of the game so a good and relaxing soundtrack is something I’m thankful for.

Ho shi--!!!
GAMEPLAY:
When the game came out a single voice was heard “THIS IS A MINECRAFT RIP OFF!!” Well shut up, it’s not. This is an action RPG with the addition of the crafting and customizing options that made Minecraft what it is right now. Terrarian is action packed, sure, you’ll be spending the day gathering resources but when the night comes the game is not about locking yourself up in your little cave and wait for the sun, no way Jose. You’ll go out, and you’ll fight whatever the hell comes into your way, it’s the samurai way, it’s the hardcore way, it’s the only way.
Another thing to mention is the Suikoden aspect of the game, what do I mean with this? Simple enough, if you have the right resources certain merchants or inhabitants will show up, and you’ll have to take care of them. For example you make a Bow but don’t know how to make arrows (Yeah, I’m supposing that the game playing is actually a moron I know). Well a merchant will eventually appear selling you arrows. Take this to every other level or situation and you’ll get what I’m saying.
REPLAYABILITY:
From the get go the game has multiplayer and you know what that means, infinite replayability. But moving away from that the game generates every world from scratch and completely random. Exploring a whole world is virtually impossible or at least it will demand of you a huge amount of time. So basically you have a new character, a new world and a new challenge every time you start a new game. And if you’re interested in seeing what others have been doing you can just jump into another guy’s world and meet him there, see what he’s been up to, you name it.
This is a game that is worth 10 bucks, and 10 bucks for this amount of replayability and fun that works on every computer you can imagine (last 5 years) it’s a great deal, hell it’s a bargain. So if you’re looking for a Minecraft type of game that is more action oriented this is your game, you won’t regret it, I sure as hell don’t.
OVERALL SCORE:
9 (AWESOME!) Really man, it’s a great game, go buy it, support the indie industry and enjoy one hell of a game!
