This guide will walk you through the ‘Countdown’ mission in SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs. Let’s get started!
To find a launcher and disarm it at the same time is your objective for this mission. The way points lead to some ruins where the first set of enemies is located. Avoid being flanked by anyone by staying close to the wall. Continue walking to the next way point in a river while clearing the area. Take out two enemies under a bridge before they spot you. You have to walk up to an enemy base which is also a set of ruins. Just like before, stay close to the rocks on the right. Beware of any enemy with rockets and look for a perfect vantage point by walking up the steps.
Make sure that the area is clear before heading down to find an intel datapad located in one of the crates in the middle of the base. After grabbing the datapad, locate the next set of enemies by following the way points. Beware of a sentry turret setup just right around the corner. Stick to your cover then take it out with a grenade. The area is full of enemies including snipers at the back. Before moving up to the next way point, eliminate all hostiles in the area. There are also plenty of enemies in the next area as well as sentries. Be on alert for sentry cannons that fire rockets and sentry turrets with machine guns. Aim for the red barrels around them to quickly eliminate small areas. When the smoke clears, head down to grab weapons and ammo. Look for the second intel datapad in a crate at the Western area.
Move to the next area up the hill and be alert for enemies who will ambush you with rockets and snipers. Focus on the snipers because they will shoot you from behind cover. Stick back and take them out. Cover is almost useless because the enemies are in an elevated position. Clear the ruins of enemies before moving forward. As you move on, more enemies will come out. Proceed to the temple where you will not find any trace of enemy. However, always stay on guard for you will encounter a huge room infested with enemies. They are prepared for war with assault rifles, rockets, shotguns, and armor. Employ any explosives to eliminate them and once the room is clear, grab the third intel datapad on a table.
Move away from the temple and walk towards the launcher way point. Use the map to locate a tarocco partly hidden on the way to the launcher. Upon reaching the launcher, set your team behind the walls and prepare for a fight. Enemies will come out of the ruins like ants. Defend the launcher to the end of the mission.
