This guide will walk you through the ‘Enter the Terraformer’ level in Red Faction: Armageddon. Let’s get started!
Your main objective here is to break the wall and you can move freely after the short conversation. You will notice that the barrels you just targeted are explosive. If you want to blow up small salvage, you need to blow up explosives. Be aware that anything red you see will probably be explosive.
Salvage is essential if you want to upgrade your skills and abilities. In order to locate them, you have to blow up explosive devices such as barrels and machinery, destroy strategic structures, and pick up huge packs. Two to three points of salvage is awarded to you for a small salvage and thirty for a big one. Keep in mind to collect salvage at every opportunity. Hold as much salvage as you cam because an upgrade will cost you one thousand salvage points. You can find salvage points through large salvage.
Enough for the salvage points so it’s time to do the job. Immediately switch to the maul then break your way into the wall with red waypoint outline. Be reminded that the maul has two attack modes which are the right trigger for horizontal swing and left trigger for vertical swing. After beholding the destruction, climb up the red planet’s hills.
Your next objective is to enter the Terraformer and you will find your new weapon on top of the hill. You will have a chargeable rocket launcher in the form of the Plasma Cannon. You have to hold fire to charge the cannon then release it to fire an explosive plasma bolt. Trace the waypoint until you reach the shield that is blocking your way into the core of the facility. You will obtain the new objective within the area. Destroy the solar towers. They are scattered around the courtyard and each has an explosive container nearby. Take the towers down using the Plasma Cannon.
You have to return to the downed shield before entering the open gates. If you proceed to both sets of doors, you will notice a truck that is in combat with cultists at the other end. The way is cleared when an air strike bombs the bridge. A group of cultists will shoot you so use the destroyed cars as cover. From the cars, you can get closer to return fire. Avoid the deluge of bullets by shooting the tower down with the Plasma Cannon. Turn left down the road until you activate a cutscene.
You are needed by the Red Faction so rush to the landing pad to break open the bunker that contains an army of cultists. Destroy the building before going too far and take down a cultist with a rocket launcher located on the roof. Help the Red Faction destroy more cultists if you have annihilated the ones attacking you. Proceed to the landing pad up to a rocky path that goes around the back end. For an instant supply of small salvage, shatter the explosives that surround the landing pad.
After finding the cultist reinforcements, they will shoot at you from a two-story building facing the entrance of the base. Blow away the ground floor using the Plasma Cannon to take down the whole structure. Shoot down the cultists that hide at the barriers and beware of three more as you run down the path. Beware of the one that carries a rocket. Move on for a supply of salvage but destroy explosives around the courtyard first. Blow up the red containers for easy salvage. By jumping off the ledge at the destroyed bridge, the repair ability will be unlocked. You will now be able to repair the bridge by holding down the left button as you move forward.
The enormous steel gates will lead you to the Terraformer loading bay. In this area, you will encounter the Scout Walker with his own Plasma Cannon and electricity arcs. This tough enemy will shoot right at your metal crates cover. You might run out of cover in the shooting spree but use the repair to rebuild the crates. Engage the enemy using the Assault Rifle and dodge left or right to avoid the attacks. Shoot at the robot until it explodes. Collect the salvage and enter the Terraformer when you are ready.
