This guide will walk you through the ‘Gather Power Cells’ level in Red Faction: Armageddon. Let’s get started!
Before you leave the guarded perimeter, do not forget to drop by at the upgrade station or weapons locker just close to the Bastion. You will chance upon the Banshees which are upgraded dual pistols. They fire slowly but have devastating effect per shot like magnums. As you move forward to the cave tunnel, a cutscene is activated.
You have to support civilians in warding off attacks of the creepers. You might be overwhelmed so retreat back to the tunnel. Never worry because the Red Faction soldiers will fight with you side by side. Your goal is to gather the three power cells and they are located at three power stations. They are marked by your GPS indicating that one is just nearby. The tower has a red mark on the HUD. Set the power cell free and collect it by demolishing the tower.
After securing the first power cell, trace the GPS markers into a dull and yellowish tunnel going upwards. At the tunnel exit, engage the ravagers that will shoot at you as well as the pod spawning creepers. After passing the Taco stand, focus on the right for the next power cell tower. At the base of the tower, another pod is spawning monsters. Destroy it and the tower simultaneously and grab the power cell. For easy salvage points, annihilate the infested building near the destroyed tower and pod.
There is another pod between crummy buildings. Climb the steps built into the rocks to reach it. After the pod, you will see a tunnel being guarded by unmanned turrets. As you approach, jump into one of them and eliminate the attacking berserkers, ravagers, and creepers. You will be then be led to a shielded tunnel by the GPS waypoint. Focus your attention for a fast exchange of dialogue.
Your next objective is to turn off the force field. If you hit the button to the right marked by the HUD, you will notice that it is not working. Undertake some repairs. The next object you have to find are three generators being menaced by aliens in a chamber. As you receive the objective, you can see one group spawning. Its either you shoot them yourself or jump into one of the unmanned turrets again to eliminate them. Ravagers will attack before you even inspect the area. Take them out, search for the generators, and repair them. If they are all repaired, you will receive another objective.
Turn off the force field by pushing the switch marked on the HUD. At the edge of the tunnel, a berserker is waiting for the shield to be switched off. Use the turret to take it out and continue traversing the tunnel to look for the power cells. You will see an alien shield structure coming out as you exit a dark room. It is slightly covered by stalactites and stalagmites. You can hit it by targeting carefully. There are also new groups of ravagers shooting down at you. Attract them out of the tunnel or tear down the structure. Tear down the power cell tower beside the structure and grab the power cell.
You now have all of the power cells. Return back to Bastion by tracing the GPS markers. Take the route to the tunnel and turn right to a second tunnel. You will encounter an alien shield structure and ravagers at the steps of the Hazel’s Fork Chamber. More ravagers are spawning at the tunnel entrance. Run down and turn left to the last tunnel to meet up the civilian for a cutscene. Beware of an ambush and focus on alien shield structures. You can evade spawning alien ravager by running over the Bastion perimeter. However, you should destroy the alien shield structure first. You can leave if you are ready but you should interact with the entrance to the Bastion.
