Return to Top No More Heroes

Bloodiest social game

Suda51, the creator of No More Heroes, wants to bring the most bloody and violent game they can to the social gaming scene.  They hope that No More Heroes, the social game, will have enough going for it to make it worldwide.  Suda51 also state that they have around 100 social game ideas that they hope to release over time.

Return to Top Star Wars: The Old Republic

Release date, almost

Recently EA came very close to confirming the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic.  John Riccitiello, EA’s CEO, stated that the company plans to “focus strongly on Q3” as a release date window.  This suggests that we may see the game available around the holiday season.  EA also stated that they expect to be able to announce a firm release date by September.  Riccitiello also stated that gamers expect perfect performance, which is what they intend to provide for gamers upon launch of the game.

Return to Top Kinectimals Now With Bears

More fuzzy friends to adopt

Kinectimals, which was released last year for Xbox 360 Kinect, now has a sequel titled Kinectimals Now With Bears.  The game will have the same game play as its original, only this time it will involve bears.  There will be a new guide named Bumblina who will help you explore the island of Lemuria.

There are five very cute bears that are available for adoption, a black bear, a grizzly bear, cinnamon bear, glacier bear and polar bear.  It also has five cats for you to choose from for adoption, a lion, royal Bengal tiger, cheetah, leopard or panther.  Ten other furry friends are available to unlock as you move through the game one of which is believed to be a panda bear.

Return to Top Jersey Shore Avatars

Coming soon to Xbox Live

Are you a fan of MTV’s The Jersey Shore?  If so, on August 2nd you will be able to get Jersey Shore avatar items for Xbox Live.  The news of this new avatar launch was posted in Microsoft’s Newsbeat newsletter with no other information.  We guess that you may be able to dress your avatar as Snookie or any of the other characters in the show, but have no clue what else will be added.  What kind of pets to you think will be available?  Giant head lice perhaps?

Return to Top Gamer couple sells their kids

Money to play games more important

ABC News recently reported on a couple in China who were turned into the authorities when it was discovered that they had been selling off their children so they could get money to play games online.

Apparently the couple had begun selling their three children in 2009, getting $500 USD for a baby girl and $4,600 USD each for two baby boys.  The children’s maternal grandmother turned her daughter in to authorities once she found out about the couple’s actions.  The report states that the couple did not know they were breaking the law, saying “We don’t want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money.”

The phrase “play responsibly” comes to mind for some reason .. golly .. when gaming becomes more important then your kids, there is something wrong.  Just my thoughts.

Return to Top Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons

Remake coming to XBL Arcade

Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons is going to be revived, kind of, for the Xbox Live Arcade.  The side-scrolling fighting game involves Billy and Jimmy, Kung fu fighters, who are out for revenge over the death of Billy’s girlfriend.

There are several new aspects of the classic game such as the graphics have been completely redone, up to four players can join a fight now, there is a new combo system and new action sequences, as well as survival mode.

The game will be available some time in September for about $15.  Likely in anticipation for the new remake release the original Double Dragon arcade game has been removed from Xbox Live Arcade.
