In Rage the new game from id Software, players will experience a very different type of Multiplayer. We don’t have all the details on the multiplayer but we do know there will be two modes that we will be playing through in the wasteland.

Combat Rally

In this mode up to six players will battle it out in an arena that is designed to make use of various vehicles. The main objective is to get rally points that show up around the arena, you can also kill your opponents and steal their points. The vehicles you will be cruising around in come equipped with weapons, handbrake for sharp turns, and a boost ability to get where you need to go fast. Players also can use air control to control their landings and jumps.

When you take part in these events you earn points that can be used to upgrade vehicles with better weapons and quick-use items. These weapons can be mines, a heavy chain gun, a homing missile, and a pulse cannon.

Legends of the Wasteland

This mode is designed as two player co-op missions that tackle some of the side events in the world that your character will hear about through out the single player campaign. We know there is at least 8 missions that you and a partner can tackle in this mode.
