As you are ready to go as Super Mario, head east where you will have to cross a bridge. Fish and string of coins jump alternately. Your objective here is to look for a Tanooki Leaf and you can find it by grabbing the coins and hitting a block next to the bridge. Continue moving up to a second bridge which is broken. Jump over it and move forward to ride the moving yellow platforms to reach the top area.
Tip: the first Star Coin is suspended on a tightrope above a stream. You can reach it by way of the broken bridge to the southern portion of the screen.
As you move, you will see a checkpoint flag beside a pair of trees. Grab it as you move towards the hallway east of the trees. A Tanooki Goomba is at the hall with a gear beside it. Spin your tail as you stand opposite the gear if you have an equipped Tanooki Suit. The floor will rise as you continue spinning which will lead you the area where you should hit a number of coins, crates, and a clock to buy time. Jump back to the ground after the quick hit.
Warning: You will encounter your first Tanooki enemy inside the tunnel. Watch out for the tailspin that could hit you. On the other hand, some Tanooki enemies could drop a Tanooki Leaf.
Tip: The next Star Coin is located on top of a tree beside the checkpoint.
Scan the rest of the level through a telescope. You will see an area with two paths wherein the left leads to a white music note block that leads to the third Star Coin. Take the right route to stay on the ground. Both paths lead to the end of the level and some Goombas.
The spiked ball chained above will make it hard for you as you head right. Time your steps as the ball swings in front of you. Hit some blocks as you move getting a Fire Flower you can use against the Piranha Plants. You can dodge or kill the latter as you reach a gap filled by a circling platform. Cross the platform and take out the Piranha Plant at the center. Move towards the other side and get your first Star Coin clinging on the wall near the platform.
Goombas are stacked like towers as you reach the other side. You can avoid them by crawling through the tunnels along the rear wall. Upon reaching the end of the tunnel, grab the checkpoint flag beside it. Move towards the next area by running to the end of the hall. At the next room are the Koopa Tropopers that are pretty easy to take out. The blocks at the bottom left corner of the room have Star power-up to knock out enemies. Invisibility from Koopa Troopers, and some one-ups. Dodge ball and chains as you cross the wooden bridge. Enter the warp-pipe on the wall to reach the end of level.
Tip: Grab the second Star Coin which is hanging above the moving yellow platforms beside the first ball and chain.
The third Star Coin is right after the wooden bridge with balls and chain obstacles. Find it on a ledge with Piranha Plants. Utilize the Tanooki Suit to get it.
Level 3 of World 1 offers descending ledges to begin with. Start your descent by powering up through the Random Item Box being watched by a Piranha Plant. You will reach a green platform on rails having arrows pointing to opposing directions. Move on by standing on the arrow that is pointing forward.
Tip: The first Star Coin can be obtained by searching for the toad which will drop it. Use the telescope for this purpose.
You will reach the checkpoint flag through the Arrow Platform. Move forward after grabbing the flag and you will arrive at a platform being guarded by Piranha Plants. Moving to the right will lead you to a music note block with the colors of the rainbow. The other option will lead you to a secret area going to the level’s end.
Tip: Use the colored music block to find the second Star Coin at the secret area’s end.
There is a blue ledge that overlooks a drop as you move forward. Clouds that move from left to right break up the drop. You just need to leap from every cloud without overshooting. Watch out for the fourth cloud when it moves to the left. It will suspend below the Star Coin so grab it by leaping on the cloud.
After taking off from the last cloud, you will land on a stone platform that is connected to an Arrow Platform. Ride it until you notice another pair of platforms under you tat will lead you to the flag at the finish where you can grab it and jump down to finish the level.
Tip: Fire Flower is the suggested Power-Up
As you did in the previous level, ride the forward moving arrow platform as you take out enemies and collect coins you see. Beware of geysers of water and look for hidden items and areas from different sets of rails. There are winged Goombas along the way and leap off at the end of the rails to start the checkpoint flag. The first Star Coin is floating above the main track. Use the geyser of water to shoot up the Platform you are riding.
Ride the next Arrow Platform which ends up to a set of rails below. A dead end will lead you to the third Arrow Platform Move on after jumping to it. The next Star Coin is accessible as you ride the second Arrow Platform. As it falls below, transfer to a reverse arrow to search for the Star Coin.
There are two geysers above as you move on. Aim for the second set of rails through the second geyser. To catapult to the air, use the last set of geysers. Just enjoy the ride and enter the warp pipe leading to the end flag. You will find the third coin floating beside the rails suspended above two geysers while you are on the third Arrow.
Start by jumping off the ledge to the right. Take out the Dragons or avoid them as you land. Move forward to reach a firewheel, which you have to jump over to arrive at a spinning section of ground filled with lines of coins. A fireball that jumps in and out of lava is at the center. Star Coin #1 is also in this area.
A ‘?” block with power-up and Dry Bones are on the next ground. Lava will shoot out a platform that you can ride to the area above. Avoid a lava geyser that will obstruct your way while a Hammer Bros waits ahead. The checkpoint flag is near but you have to dodge the Hammer Bros attacks and take him out. Jump over the firewheel after the checkpoint flag. The second Star Coin hovers just above the firewheel.
A pair of Thwomps who will try to crush you is guarding a section you will pass. Hide in a small alcove behind them until they rise up for you to move on. The shadow of the third Star Coin is spinning on the floor at the back of the alcove. The Star Coin is in a hidden area above as you wall jump between the two walls.
Bowser will drop in at a brief cutscene wherein you should move towards him while avoiding his fireballs. As he stands on a draw bridge, run past him then leap on the button at the end of the bridge. Bowser will fall to the lava as the bridge retracts. However, the one that fell was not Bowser, but a disguising Goomba. The end flag will be reached by a door that will open.
Three Goombas are on grassy steps as you begin. You will see a telescope and you could peek at the rest of the levels. The level is pretty plain and simple; annihilate Goombas and Piranha Plants as you go as well as hit blocks and collect coins.
Tip: Focus on a toad with the telescope. It is on top of the platform and it will drop the first Star Coin which would fall on a hill at the level with yellow blocks. Rush to the blocks, leap, and grab the precious item.
There is a bridge consisting of three platforms that moves from left to right. You will see a warp pipe after the bridge with a Piranha Plant. Run swiftly towards the warp pipe then take the grassy steps on the way to a structure that resembles a castle. There is a fake Goomba at the stairs leading to the right. The succeeding stairs lead to platforms that are going up and down. Leap toward them reaching some yellow bouncy blocks that lead to a “!” block. The second Star Coin can be unlocked after killing The Piranha Plant at the warp-pipe. Use the pipe to take you to the area where the Star Coin is.
A small platform is suspended in the air where the “!” block will take you. Step on the “!” tile beside it to uncover a line of green tiles leading to the level’s end. Cross as fast as you can before the tiles retreat back. Touch the end flag after crossing the tiles.
Leap to a high platform that is full of coins. Trace the platform until you reach a “!” tile colored green. A tile bridge will appear as you step on it. You will be led to an elevated section and look at a second “!” tile on top of the screen. To access the first Star Coin that is hugging a wall, step on the “!” block.
Be careful in the area of the purple poison muck. Sets of tile bridges are hanging over it which you have to cross. Do not stay for too long on the bridges but step on two “!” instead. You will advance easily as they connect with each other. You will reach the checkpoint flag as you move to the next area.
Tip: Utilize the Tanooki Suit to obtain the second Star Coin. It is located in an opening at a burning barred window. The latter is in a small room beside the checkpoint.
Another “!” tile exist after the checkpoint. Unfold a tile bridge by walking on it. Just follow the path until it leads you to the end of the level.
Tip: Star Coin #3 can be found in the area where the end flag is. Break the row of fragile blocks at the bottom left of the area. You can crawl on an opening that will appear leading to the secret room that holds the Star Coin.
You will find yourself at the Mario platform as the level kicks in. Rush forward and hit the “!” block to convert it to Copter block. Equip it by hitting it again so that Mario will be able to fly for some time and fall more slowly. Some coins are at the “P” buttons colored blue wherein you have to jump before going to the northern part of the Mario platform. There are a number of yellow platforms below hanging in the air between the Mushroom platform.
Tip: The first Star Coin is at a platform that looks like a retro Luigi. You will unlock a gear at the Mario platform after smashing a breakable block. By spinning the gear using the Tanooki Suit, the platform will be elevated to transfer you to a hidden platform.
As you Copter on the Mushroom platform, jump on the Golden Hoops along the way to obtain 5 coins from each. With your Tanooki Suit, hit the breakable block at the red spot of the Mushroom platform. Tilt the spot with a gear that will appear. Red Coins will appear at the hoop with rainbow colors. Gather all the Red Coins for extra life. This platform is just a distance away from Princess Peach platform. There are suspended platforms that link the two where you can copter to reach Princess Peach platform. Run to its Northern section to end the level.
Tip: Moving to the Princess Peach platform, the second Star Coin is below a golden ring suspended between two of yellow platforms.
For the number 3 Star Coin, unlock a gear in a breakable block at Princess Peach platform. Raise a part of the platform by spinning the gear with a Tanooki Suit.
There is a touch of Super Mario Galaxy 2 in level 4. Get used to the platform that alters position from red to blue. Anticipate where the platform will transfer before jumping. There are two sets of Red and Blue platform you will pass by before you come face to face with the Stingby. About four of them will surround you at once. Use the Tanooki spin to take them out or just jump on them as you please.
You will arrive at another long Red/Blue platform where a Bowser face inside a box will spat out Goombas. Three Boxes of Bowser faces will try to hamper your jumping by spawning infinite number of Goombas. Beat the overwhelming Goombas with your speed. Behind a bar of spikes before the first Bowser face box, the first Star Coin is hidden.
At a new platform after the Red/Blue one, a Spike Wheel spins at the center. As you move forward, there is another ledge that stretches to a new Red/Blue platform. Spike Wheels are the new obstacles in this area. They are less threatening than the Goombas because they are easier to dodge. Traverse this area triumphantly to get to the end flag. Star Coin #2 is at a secret area after jumping on a Music Note Block. This found beside the platform with the spinning Spiked Wheels.
As a forced side scrolling-level, you have to move fast in order not to get stuck because the screen instantly advances to the right. You will be disrupted by jets of flames as you press on, but just jump over them because they have a predictable pattern. Bullet Bill cannons will fire at you as you cross the tightrope. Be used to jumping to avoid being hit because more Bullet Bills await you at the next section. Utilize an “!” block you will see to transport to an airship. The first Star Coin and a Random item block can be found here. After you are done here, you will return to where you left.
Another airship awaits you as you move to the right. Wrenches will be thrown at you by a Gopher that pops out from a hatch. You can choose to take it out or just avoid it. At the end of the level, you will see the second Star Coin just floating above the Gopher.
Beware of a pair of Bullet Bills that fire Tanooki Bills because they spin as they get close to you. A warp pipe follows the Tanooki Bills, which leads you to a room where you will challenge Boom Boom who is Bowser’s subordinate. The third Star Coin is just under the warp pipe at the level’s end. Jump to the right of the pipe and grab it.
Boom Boom’s forte is to smack you with his arms and spin in circles. The best move is to jump on his head as he gets dizzy. He will be defeated with three bops to the head and coins will come out of him afterwards. Move to the warp pipe and get to the flag after eliminating Boom Boom.
You will deal with sandworms in this level. At the sand, you are now standing beside a platform with cannon. Be sure not to get too close to the sandworms. They will instantly devour you if you get too close. Stay safe by constantly moving and watching out for their shadows.
A rectangular structure with doors and enemies is at the center of the level. Through the doors that lead inside the various areas in the structure, proceed to the cannon. By moving the 3DS, aim the cannon to the arrow below the Thwomp just beside the structure. The first Star Coin is found at the platform moving beside the structure as you are aiming the cannon. Shoot Mario into it as it reaches the lowest point.
Tip: For the second Star Coin, look for a breakable block as within the ground level of the central structure. As you smash the block with a Tanooki Suit, a tiny hole will appear where you can crawl in and reach for the Star Coin.
Inside the structure, there is a Blockablock that is not too threatening. They can be taken out by smashing the breakable blocks. On the other hand, the Whallop will block your path, but they are not dangerous. They resemble tiny Thwomp that mocks your movement. Outsmart it by jumping below it as it anticipates your move. As you reach a door, get in to proceed within the structure.
Three Cacti lives in a sand pit at the middle of a room. Take the patway at the side of the room but beware of two Thwomps that hangs above. After evading the Twomps, ignore a Blockablock then leap into an “!” at the end of the room. You will find the checkpoint flag at the platform hanging above the sandpit. As you grab it, enter a door that leads back to a ledge. Move to another door at the platform above you by using the sliding bricks as a staircase.
You will end up in a room filled with spikes and Whallops. Get past the Whallops by running around them while they are in in mid-air as they jump. At the next door, get past a Thwomp that guards it. You will end up on the roof as you exit. Use the scattered pillars as you climb to the remaining path to the end flag.
The level is more direct so rush straight into the water as you move. Grab the coins as you as you use the warp-pipe to move to the next area. Move to the right and jump into the water. Avoid fish that you will see as you swim to the right. As you pass by a trio of fish, swim up and walk into dry land. Enter the next area but grab the checkpoint flag first.
Tip: You will see the first Star Coin at the moment you pass by the swimming trio of fish. Behind a grate under water, swim into the hole and enter a tunnel.
As you jump back into the water, use the Fire Flower or Tanooki Suit to take out the huge puffer fish that will block your way. Do not touch the giant Spike Eel worms that come out of their caves. They will do you no harm, but you can get injured if you touch them. Enter the warp pipe at the end of the tunnel and grab the end flag for the finish.
Tip: Enter the hole where the Spike Eel comes out to get the second Star Coin. For the third Star Coin, enter the warp pipe near the Spike Eel. Wait for it to retreat to dive for the Star Coin.
The ground in this level is made up of fall away platforms. Keep moving as soon as you step on them because they will start falling at once. You will reach solid ground after the first fallaway bridge where a Stingbee is buzzing around. Grab a coin from a “?” block nearby. Another set of fall away platform awaits you so rush forward until you end up on a solid ground with Chain Chomp at the center.
Tip: The first Star Coin of the level can be found in the highest line breakable blocks at a secret room. You will warp to this room as you are raised from a platform near the Stingbee.
Move to the longest line of fall away platform with Stingbees as you get past the Chain Chomp. The checkpoint flag is just ahead after you reach solid ground as you grab Star power-up along the way. You will encounter another set of fall away platform with Stingbees. As you move forward, you reach the next solid platform with Chain Chomp. There is a telescope after you dodge the latter. Peek at the remaining part of the level and move on. Touch a yellow “!” block and it will transport you to the remaining fallaway platform that leads to the end of the level.
Tip: The second Star Coin is in a secret area between two parallel walls. It is to the left of the road that forks near the checkpoint.
The Star Coin #3 will be tossed by a toad as you look from the telescope. Grab it is as it lands on the path leading to the end flag.
You will start with a pair of parallel tightropes with some having obstacles and others none. A fuzzy running up and down is on the second pair. Right after the first sets of tightropes is a platform with a huge tree. As you move to the right of the platform, another platform with ball and chain will greet you. A Fuzzy patrols another one below it. You will see a raised platform with “!” block as you cross the tightrope. This will transport you to the next area.
Tip: The first Star Coin is at the two purple blocks as you jump from rope to rope from the platform with the large tree. You need to punch the purple blocks that will move up then grab the Star Coin.
There’s a platform with a checkpoint flag on it as you travel another tightrope to the right. Two more tightropes can be found as you grab the flag and move to the North. A trio of Fuzzies travels down the length of the tightropes. You will reach another platform as you make it to the tightrope. Jump to an”!” block on it to proceed to the next area. Star Coin number two is in a secret area as you bounce off to a Music block. This area is on the tightrope leading to the checkpoint flag.
The next area is full of tightropes suspended one over the next. A Fuzzy is on the top one running back and forth. Jump on it to see another pair of parallel tightropes and each with a Fuzzy. Move to the right as you cross them. You will then reach another one with a swinging ball and chain on it. Dodge the ball and chain as you cross the tightrope on your way to a small platform. Another pair of tightropes with balls and chains are ahead. You will reach an “!” block as you cross them leading to the end flag. The third Star Coin is on a hidden “!” block where a winged “?” has flown you. It is in the place after the first tightrope, which has the ball and chain.
The screen instantly advances in this level wherein you make your way to the right leaping from platform to platform. Your toughest challenge is to leap from each platform because enemies are scarce here. The two layers of platforms are the bottom ones that constantly moving to the left while the bottom layer is static. You will eventually reach an “!” block as you keep moving to the right.
Tip: The first Star Coin is hanging above a pair of blocks at the start of the level.
The second Star Coin is floating below a fall away platform. It is in the “!” block that leads to the second area in the level.
A new area will open up as you leap to an “!” block. The screen is moving upwards now so jump from platform to platform as you move forward. Plenty of Beetles will block your path. Another “!” block is at the end of the area. You will be teleported to the end flag. The third Star Coin can be seen easily at the left side of the screen.
Two enormous spikes will shoot at you before retreating. They are out of range if you are at the starting point but study their moves to avoid being hit.
Tip: You will notice the first Star Coin as soon as you land in the Airship. It is at a platform to the left of a huge spike. Avoid the latter and grab the Star Coin.
A “?” block hangs above a small platform as you reach the end of the area. Proceed to the right to the next level but wait until the spikes retract. As you move to a walkway, cannons guarding it will shoot out spiked balls towards you. Move as fast as you can because the cannons know you every move. You are most likely to get hit with the projectiles. You will arrive at a platform having a telescope and the checkpoint flag, as well. With the telescope, conduct a survey of the remainder of the level and secure your position by grabbing the flag.
Moving to the right, you will get into a section stacked with Bob-Ombs and crates. The former has a huge spike that shoots just over your head. Avoid damage by not jumping as the spike is shooting. Move fast as it retracts to avoid being hit. Another stretch of walkway with giant spikes is ahead. In this area, the probability of getting hit is high. The most effective move you can do is to make it to the safe spot at the middle of the stretch. Repeat this move until you reach the end of the walkway. You will be lead to a warp pipe to be face to face with a Boom Boom Boss.
Tip: The second Star Coin can be found at the end of the safe point as you cross the long walkway with giant spikes.
As usual, Boom Boom will spin in circles to attack you. Use your previous trick of jumping on his head as he gets dizzy. However, you might get confused with the moving floor, top section moving left, and the bottom going right. After defeating the Boss, the end of the level is signaled by the appearance of a warp pipe. The third Star Coin is at the bow of the Airship. This is before you move to the end flag after entering the warp pipe at the level’s end.
Peach is worried. The princess of the Mushroom kingdom is on top of the castle whispering “Mario’. Mario and a Goomba in the background will jump when shaken. A fast and hard shake makes Luigi leap out of the castle and not a Goomba.
The level opens at the edge of a wide and open cliff where you are standing. You got to move on because this area is bare. Scan the cliffs above you with the telescope beside the tiny stream. A Toad high above will catch your attention as you look around. Grab the 1 up it will toss after you Zoom in on it. You will get into some cliffs with large steps as you move to the left. There is a pack of Goombas and a Koopa Trooper waiting for you after climbing the steps. Move to the right after stomping on the Koopa Trooper and tossing its shell to the Goombas.
Tip: Star Coin #1 can be found as you crawl in the hole after smashing a lone breakable brick. The latter is on the wall at the back of the base of the cliffs with a lone Koopa Trooper and Goombas.
After following the path to the right, you will notice a few coins and some Piranha Plants on a ferris wheel made of wood. Ride on the rotating wheel and leap on an orange bouncy block on it. As the wheel carries you above, move ahead, and you will encounter more bouncy blocks bridging a gap. Leap on each block to reach the checkpoint. Note that the second Star Coin is unlocked from a rainbow music note block. The latter is just before the checkpoint flag while you are crossing the bouncy blocks.
Tip: A not so visible platform with cannon can be found beside a checkpoint flag. As you enter the cannon, you will see the third Star Coin hanging in the air. Shoot at it at once.
Press forward after grabbing the checkpoint flag. You will end up on the base of a giant tree after crossing a wooden bridge. On the circling the tree, you will encounter Piranha Plants, Beetles as well as bouncy blocks. You will reach the path leading to the end flag after braving the obstacles down below. Fire Flower is the recommended power for this level.
You are now below a structure teeming with enemies, platforms, and bouncy blocks. As you move to the first batch of platforms, you will notice a huge red ‘!’ block to the left. Punching the block creates a number of platforms you can use. A darker shade of red must come out for the out blocks. Utilize these platforms to reach the hanging bouncy blocks in the air to access other platforms above.
Tip: The first Star Coin can be found as a shadow spinning beside the rear wall. It is located beside the first red “!” block. Get near the shadow and grab the Star Coin from above. Beware of a Goomba Tower that patrols the area as you move to the right. Another “!” colored red will be revealed as you jump over the tower. Create a new set of platforms as you punch it to make your way to the suspended ledge above you. Take out the Piranha Plant you will find on the ledge and punch another set of red “!” block to create another set of platforms.
You will reach another red “!” block leading to the left side of the area. In front of you is another threatening Goomba Tower. Reach for the hanging block above you as you ignore the Tower. Climb the nearby platforms to get to it. The bouncy block can be used to reach another level on your top. A series of bouncy blocks will welcome you as you move to the left. They will lead you to a warp pipe through the end of the level.
Tip: In the Goomba Tower you would bypass, the second Star Coin can be unlocked. It is at the left side of the Tower as you crouch on a tiny hall on the wall leading to a room underneath.
Star Coin #3 can be found before the warp pipe by taking the right route instead of left. It leads to a room with a huge red “!” block. As you punch on the block, you use the platforms created as parallel pillar to grab the Star Coin.
Spinning multicolored shapes dominate this level. You can see winged Goombas flying around as you jump to a platform by passing the spinning shapes. To obtain a power-up, move on to a ledge hanging in the center. Interact with a question block you will find. Above the multicolored shapes, you will encounter, the first Star Coin is just hanging in the open air.
At the edge of the platform are another set of spinning shapes. As you press on, you’ll pass through solid ground and spinning shapes alternatively. The red “!” block will save you as you can not jump to high to the next area. Punch it to create platforms that will bring you to the checkpoint flag. Take a survey of the remaining level through a telescope.
Tip: The second Star Coin can be found at the end of a secret area. This is accessible after you use the rainbow music note block going to the checkpoint flag.
The third Star Coin will be tossed by a Toad as you look from a telescope at the checkpoint. Observe where the Star Coin falls and grab it as you proceed to the end flag.
A long stretch of spinning shapes will stun you as you ascend from the checkpoint flag. Do not be too complacent to successfully make it to the other end. It is possible to make a fatal fall even if this section is not too tough to deal with. You will reach the end flag after braving the overwhelming spinning shapes.
You will encounter ghosts that pop out in this level. They can be taken out with Fireballs and Tanooki tail spins but not with a Goomba style jump. It this dark and vast nothingness, floors will appear as you move forward. Reaching a square-shaped dead end, a yellow platform will get close to you. Leap onto it to reach the next area. Floorboards that appear out of nothing is where you will be transferred after jumping to an “!” block from the yellow platform. Take out or dodge Ghosts as you advance. You will reach a new set of floorboards by punching on a red “!’ block to create a platform. You will reach the checkpoint flag though the floorboards.
Tip: The first Star Coin is with the Ghosts that spin in circles after you are teleported to the second area.
The second Star Coin is found in a room accessible through a warp pipe. The latter can be reached through floor boards at the octagonal area where the checkpoint flag is.
There is an area where you will start falling after jumping to a set of floorboards leading to an “!” block. You seem to be falling in an open field, but another set of floorboards will appear that will lead you to the exit. These boards are tricky and some lead to a dead end. Near the end of the level, you have to cross shifting platforms after the floorboards.
Tip: As you fall in the area of nothingness, the third Star Coin becomes visible. Follow the floorboards that will appear, leading to the Star Coin.
As you stand on a checkered platform, a green “!” tile is at the corner of another platform ahead. A tile bridge will appear as you walk on the green “!” tile leading to another “!” tile with another tile bridge leading to a platform. A set of stairs will unfold as you step on four “!” tiles lined up in a row. As you move to the next platform, a Boomerang Brother awaits you. Step on the two “!” after taking it out. Another staircase will open up that leads to a platform above. Afterwards, another “!” block will lead you to the next area. The first Star Coin is suspended in the air as you ascend the staircase leading to the platform with the “!” block.
The same “!” block leads to the platform with the checkpoint flag. Step on the tile at the edge of the platform after grabbing the flag. You will reach a shifting yellow platform using the tiles that opened up. A complex series of tiles will unfold after stepping on another “!” tile. It leads to shifting yellow platform taking you to “!” block.
Tip: The second Star Coin floats over in the air with the platform that leads to the “!” block. Leap on the “!” and grab the Star Coin.
There is a huge checkered platform consisting of four platform of the same type where the “!” block will take you. A set of two tiles and a set of six are on the platforms. The former leads to a Star Coin #3 while the latter leads to level’s end after being activated. Fire Flower is the local power.
To survive in this level, keep moving ahead of the screen because it instantly advances toward the right. Be reminded that the Blue/Red tiles switch as you jump so aim at the area they will be at. This move will make it easy for you to get through the level. Star Coin #1 is just near the edge of the Blue/Red tiles area.
Two Spiked Columns are rolling on the floor as you reach the second airship. Jump down on the hole at the middle after leaping on Columns. You will reach a pile of stack crates after moving through the airship. Use them to jump out of the hole. Beware of the Gopher at the end of the airship.
Tip: The second Star Coin is at the second ship after you jump down to the hole. It is just at the bottom of the ship wherein you grab it and escape as fast as you can.
The Boomerang Brother is guarding another area of Blue/Red tiles you are about to jump on. Move fats and take out the Boomerang Brother. A small platform is visible as you are near the edge. Jump over it and another platform. You will reach a warp pipe leading to Pom Pom, the boss battle of the stage. Star Coin #3 is at the end of the second section of the Blue/Red tiles.
Boomerangs are Pom Pom’s weapon of choice. She is formidable because of her range, and she lacks dull moments. It’s a bit tough to beat her but jump on her head thrice and dodge the attacks to ensure victory.
If you are in need of a power up, grab the Boomerang Flower as the level starts. There is also a pair of Cacti which you can avoid or annihilate. Move on to the hill behind them into a path leading around a cliff. Take out or avoid the Boomerang Brother watching it and descend the path. Move on to a set of stairs guarded by Tanooki Goombas and you will reach a gap filled with a twisted path made of a blue bar. Maintain your balance as you move through the bar.
Tip: the first Star Coin is in a secret room accessible through a warp pipe. It is in a small nook to the left of the two Cacti.
A pair of Tanooki Thwomps awaits you after crossing the bar. Looking like normal Thwomps, they will spin as you get near them. Run past them and you will reach a sandy area being watched by two Sandmarghs. Get past these guards and run towards the ramp at the edge of the clearing. You will end in front of a door you will enter to get to the next area.
Tip: The second Star Coin is hanging just above the pair of Tanooki Thwomps. Use a Tanooki Suit to jump over the Thwomps and leap towards the Star Coin.
You will be led to the checkpoint flag so grab the flag and move on. You will reach a round platform which will rise as you reach the center. Enemies will appear to attack you. Fend the attacks as the platform stops beside a set of large stairs. Avoid the Cacti that will appear as you climb the stairs.
