Players will also get to earn both Cash and XP along the way, and they would be able to interact with other Simpson’s characters as well as with other versions of Springfield.

Currency

Cash is the primary currency within the game. These can be used to buy and build buildings, as well as other decorations to enhance the look of your version of Springfield. Cash can be earned by completing tasks, shopping at the local Kwik-E Mart, or betting at the dog races.

Donuts are the premium currency within the game. These can be used to speed up construction, and can also be used to purchase premium items in the store. Donuts can also be converted into in game cash so that you will have more funds to use in buying regular items. However, Donuts are very rare to acquire normally in the game, and you may have to use real life currency in order to acquire the number of Donuts that would suit your needs.

Building

Building structures is basically what The Simpsons: Tapped Out is all about. Buildings must be bought before they are built, and players have the freedom to place them wherever they want. Some buildings will earn you cash, as well. Aside from buildings, you can also build roads and bridges, and you can also purchase land in order to expand the city so that you can even build more structures.

Tasks

Tasks are basically missions that the player must do in order to advance towards the game. Tasks will earn players XP as well as Cash, and may even earn them some items as well as the chance to unlock more characters.

It is the player’s task to assign and manage their characters such that everyone is doing a particular task at any given time. This ensures that everyone is being utilized and that players would be able to advance and level up much faster.

Other tasks also include farming, and cleaning up the garbage surrounding the area.

Leveling Up

Performing actions as well as completing tasks will earn players XP. Once enough XP points have been earned, a player will level up. The higher the player’s level, the more items will be unlocked and will be made available for purchase. More tasks would also be made available. However, tasks would also be progressively harder and would take much longer to accomplish the more you level up.

Other Springfields

Players have the option to visit another version of Springfield, aptly called “Other Springfield”. Alternatively, they can also visit the cities of friends who are also playing the game. However, you must have an EA Origin account in order to access this feature. While in other Springfields, players can tap on buildings and vandalize property, which will earn you huge amounts of XP and Cash. This can be done up to three times per day for each version of Springfield that you visit, so the more versions of Springfield that you discover, the bigger the chances of you being able to level up faster.

Mystery Box

Players who regularly play the game will be awarded with daily prizes. For every five consecutive days, players will be awarded with the Mystery Prize which may contain premium items or even Donuts. This would entice players to faithfully play and visit Simpsons Tapped Out.
