Survivors play a key role in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. In the game, survivors can be sent off to scavenge for supplies and the like. However, only so many survivors can fit be taken with you at a time. Keeping different survivors with you to the end of the game yields different rewards in the form of a variety of Relics that can be used to make subsequent playthroughs easier.
This guide will provide a list and explanation of all the Relics, plus tell you where to find all the survivors in the game. You’ll have to play through the game multiple times to save all the survivors, so keep that in mind.

NOTE: There are misc. survivors that you can find on the side of the road and in scavenge areas sometimes. These survivors will not give you Relics upon completing the game, however, so they are omitted from this guide.
Relic: Silenced Weapons
Jimmy Blake will be the first person to give you an optional objective in the entire game. Holding out on the roof of the pharmacy in Sedalia, you can reach him by climbing a ladder in the alley. Speak with him, and he’ll ask you to find batteries for him.
The batteries can be found in the storage room of the police station down the street from the pharmacy. It’s in a room right outside the holding cell room. They can be found on a shelf along with ammo. Return the batteries to Jimmy and he will join your group.
Relic: Stealth Movement
Warren will automatically join your group as a part of the main storyline. After collecting gas in Sedalia and returning to the truck, Warren will be with you. The vehicle you have at this point in the game only has enough room for Daryl, Jess, and either Warren or Jimmy Blake. You will have to choose to dismiss one of them. Be sure to bring along the other for your next playthrough of the game.
Relic: Bigger Clips
Scout will ask you to find Mia at the movie theater across the street from the diner. Go to the theater and then investigate the empty bag in the room closed off lobby. Poke your head out the door and look down the hall, and Mia will be spying on you before running up the stairs. Go after her. At the top of the stairs, speak with Mia and she will ask you to clear the zombies in the movie theater. You can kill a lot from your position in the projection room. Return to Scout to tell her about Mia’s whereabouts and then upon clearing out the zombies, Mia will join your group.
Relic: Survivor Success
Noah is encountered multiple times throughout the course of the game. The first time you meet him is in Fontana. He suffered a gunshot wound at the hands of Merle and is being taken care of by Scout. Later you will encounter him in the Cleburne hospital, hiding in one of the rooms while Scout is in the morgue looking for medical supplies to continue treating his room. It is in Cleburne where you have the opportunity to spare Noah’s life or leave him for dead, which will obviously determine whether or not he will be around to join your survivor group or not.
A crazed doctor wants to use Noah as a science experiment to try to find a cure for the zombies. If you go speak with the doctor, that is effectively allowing her to kill Noah in exchange for the medical supplies needed for Merle. If you go help Noah and save him from the walkers, he will show up again in Lafferty at the mall. You can speak with him again there and gather the supplies around him. Finish this mission and Noah will then join the group.
Relic: Item Boost
Working as a foreman at the sawmill, Mike will be found hiding out after someone has cut the fence to the sawmill’s survivor group. He has a bunch of medicine that Daryl and Merle need. The only requirement to recruiting him is talking with him.
City: Archer Creek
Relic: Faster Stronger
Simply speaking with Sheila will convince her to join the group, much like Mike Swenson.
Relic: Melee Boost
Jane is safely barricaded in her house in Sherwood when she is first met. After speaking with her husband and return to the suburbs, you have to make the choice between her and Terry Harrison. If you want to save her, go to her house and kill all the zombies banging on her doors and then speak with her.
Relic: Marksman Boost
Terry’s wife is in poor health when you meet him in Sherwood. You have to meet Terry as part of the main quest because Jane will send you over to his house. Upon going into town to speak with Jane’s husband, if you stop by the pharmacy, you’ll find antibiotics lying on the floor. Scoop them up before speaking with Jane’s husband and return to Terry. Sad things will happen, and then you will have to go back to Jane’s husband and talk to him. After that, return to the suburbs and the undead will have taken over. Go to Terry’s house instead of Jane’s and kill all the zombies around it to save his life.
