2. Campaign

The campaign for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark spans both the video
game universe and the film universe, and you will play as both Autobots and
Decepticons over the course of the video game.

Each level has its own set of challenges to complete. You will find a challenge
checklist for each chapter.

=========================
CHAPTER 1: THE DARK SPARK
=========================
[ ] Where Falls My Shadow, Fells My Blode – Use only Melee Attacks and Blade
Dash to defeat your enemies
[ ] My Blade Has Tasted Better – Defeat 25 enemies with the Blade Dash ability
[ ] Snitches Get Stitches – Shoot up the 6 anti-alien propaganda billboards
[ ] Oil Spilled – Destroy 4 fuel tankers

This first area will get you accustomed to how to play the game. Use the
left stick to move and the right stick to adjust the camera. Press A to jump,
click in the left stick to transform.

You’ll come upon three Decepticons. When you’re behind them, tap the right
bumper to activate Blade Dash and eliminate all three of them immediately.
Activate the Weapons Terminal that they were guarding and choose a gun. Use
the gun to destroy the anti-alien billboard that is on the nearby bridge right
in front of you.

In car form, you have access to a weapon as well as a variety of other
controls. Dink around with that while you speed through this place. You’ll
have to blow up a couple some debris blocking the way as well as an oil tanker
that is also in the way.

Continue until you get to a new group of Decepticons to fight. You can take
them out easily with the Blade Dash ability. When the oil tanker crashes on the
bridge above, shoot it to create a ramp. Go up there and then start moving
towards the next objective marker. On the roof to your right will be another
anti-alien collectible billboard to destroy, so blow it up before continuing.

Through the tunnels will be more enemies. Switch to your vehicle form and just
take them out one by one as you move through the tunnels. On the other side is
a wide open area where enemies will just constantly spawn. Kill them until a
new objective pops up. Head there and then Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will
join you.

Kill the rest of the enemies with them and then follow through them to the
next area with a bunch of destroyed buildings. Another anti-alien propaganda
billboard can be seen on the roof of the far building. Go around the corner and
there is another alien propaganda billboard there. Keep going around the
corner to the top of the hill.

A short scene will play. You can now just turn into a car and speed to the
Dark Spark if you want. Or fight your way there. Doesn’t really matter unless
you’re going after the challenges.

CHAPTER 2: THE LOST VAULT
=========================
[ ] Entomologist – In one hunt, take out one of each kind of Insecticon with
the Gear Shredder

At the start of this chapter, you control Soundwave. Go with the flow and
kill the Insecticons as you go to meet up with Starscream and Shockwave. Once
you meet up with them, go with them into the vault. Kill any Insecticons that
get in your way.

Continue through the vault. Remember that you can dash over any gaps by jumping
and pressing the left bumper. When you reach the lever, pull it by grabbing it
and then pulling back the left stick. Control then shifts over to Shockwave.

Shockwave plays a bit differently than Soundwave. Shockwave turns into a jet
instead of a car, so you can fly around and kill the flying Insecticons a bit
easier. Kill all of the Insecticons in this room and then another cut-scene
will play.

This will initiate a series of boss battles against tougher Insecticons. The
first is Hardshell. Turn into a jet and then fly above him and pelt him until
he dies. Kickback is a flying Insection, so just fly to him and keep shooting
him until he dies as well. If he turns into his robot form and tries to take
cover, fly over his head, aim down, and blast him until he’s dead. Sharpshot
can be defeated using the exact same strategy.

Control then is thrown back to Soundwave after a quick scene. Move with
Starscream from room to room. The doors won’t open up until you’ve destroyed
enough Insecticons.

Keep going until you reach the room with the vats. Stand in front of the vats
and then release Rumbler into it. Defend the position until Rumbler is ready to
be retrieved, and then get him from the vat. Repeat the process with the other
vats in the room.

Now follow Starscream and Shockwave through the halls. You’ll have to wait a
minute at each door for Shockwave to pop them open. After the second door,
large turrets will be hanging from the ceiling, so be ready to destroy them as
you continue.

You’ll then be introduced to the Crystal City Guardians. These are just typical
soldier type Transformers that don’t pose much of a threat; what DOES pose
a threat at this point are the enemies above your head. Golden drone enemies
will fly around and deal significant damage. These must be your top priority
before worrying about the Crystal City Guardians. Once the drones are dead,
get rid of the Crystal City Guardians and then approach the next door for
another cut-scene.

When that scene is over, you’ll be in control of Shockwave again. Turn into a
jet, and then fly above the door on the ledge there. You’ll find a powerful
weapon and an audio log here. Now drop down and go through the nearby tunnel.
Out here, you’ll find

5. Extras
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The Extras section in Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is where you can
listen to collected audio logs, check the leaderboards, credits, and visit
the “Help” section as well.

If you’re playing the Xbox One version of the game, you can say, “Xbox, Help”
and also reach that section in that matter.

However, the most important aspect of the Extras section is the Challenges and
Distinctions. By completing these objectives, you can unlock new items for
Escalation and get bonus XP as well.

These are the Challenges and Distinctions and what you must do in order to
complete them.
