Paramount Explores Gaming Industry

Over the years, games developed from black and white to colored, 2D to 3D, from the Television Screens to small, portable little screens. This is because of the never-ending demands of children who get hooked up to mind-challenging and adventurous games.

Even with today’s highly developed games and consoles, it continues to develop as more and more companies invest their money on the gaming industry. One of them is Paramount, who is soon to start publishing and developing games. The company has stated that they are planning to get into real games from their film production and distribution. Gaming experience has never been better… and cheaper. Sometimes it’s even free.

Well that is unless you download off an internet site, or buy one of those pirated CDs, which can easily get you a ticket for some jail time (thus using up some of your valuable gaming time). Nowadays, everyone seems to be doing it, be it intentionally or not, from individuals (like your ‘friend who ‘tried’ out this pirated version of a video game just to see if it is worth buying) to billionaire organizations (like the organizers of the Olympics). As the internet progresses, along with the development of China and other countries, the gaming industry, and its leaders, is finding itself under more and more pressure to come up with various gaming ideas that will freshen up the industry. Recently, a lot of products (game consoles and the games themselves) have been nothing more of a disappointment. For instance, the huge failure of Daikatana and Sony’s PS3 is nothing short of discouraging, and that is saying it nicely. (more…)

Gaming Nitty Gritty in Asia

In the United States, most of the gamers tend to play by themselves (or with a couple of their friends), most often in their rooms or the family’s game room, not unless they are attending a convention of some sort. In the West, most serious gamers do not play with people they do not know, because quite frankly, it is weird to just start playing with someone whose name you are not even sure of.

But in Asia, it is a whole different story.
