Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Trophy [ Guide ]

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has consistently been one of the PS3's strongest selling points. It's an exclusive game for the PlayStation 3 and will not likely see release on any other system this generation. The game was released before Sony made trophies mandatory, but finally, years later, Konami has released a trophy patch for the game, so players can go back through and try to "platinum" Metal Gear Solid 4! NOTE: Even if you've satisfied the requirements for the trophies in the past, you will have to redo all of the trophies. Since Metal Gear Solid 4 [...More ]

Metal Gear Solid 4: Characters [ Guide ]

Back in 2008 when the original MGS4: Guns of the Patriot was released it did not have the trophy function. For the series 25th anniversary however a patch is available that will add trophies to the game FINALLY. Since many people will either replay the game or try it for the first time we felt it might be helpful to have a break down of the main characters in the game, along with a brief description of what to expect. Metal Gear 4: Guns of the Patriot is an action-packed adventure story. With seasoned hero Solid Snake, summoned by Roy [...More ]

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D [ Preview ]

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is coming very soon to the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be released on February 21st. In the meantime, a demo has been released on the 3DS's eShop service. What did I think about it? For one, the game is strikingly beautiful, especially with the 3D cranked up to full blast. The jungle environment really lends itself to the effect, with tree branches popping through the screen. The irritating "ghosting" issue that plagues a lot of 3DS games (seemingly at random, or when you're tired) is non-existent in the game, as far as I could [...More ]

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3DS in Spring

Last night at the Nintendo 3DS conference Nintendo might have well just reached into my pocket and taken my money, especially when they showed the revive of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for the 3DS. Konami announced that the game is set to release in Japan next Spring a few months later than the handhelds release. Something about looking for The End in a 3D jungle tells me its going to take me [...More ]

Metal Gear Solid Rising No Kinect? [ TGS ]

The Microsoft keynote is still going on at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), but some interesting news is already slipping out. In what for me is one of the most anticipated games, Metal Gear Solid Rising, was shown. It featured a new trailer and some live demoing of chopping up a watermelon. What might be more news worthy is that no mention of Kinect support was included. Since the game is being made in Japan it was expected that if any announcement was to be made this would be the place. The game was shown right after head of Xbox [...More ]

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Snake may be no more, but thankfully it isn't the end of the road for Metal Gear Solid altogether with the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Rising being made recently at E3. As Hideo Kojima took the E3 stage, those lucky enough to be in the audience knew something exciting was about to happen - and it did. He revealed Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and it's now time for Raiden, the deadly ninja featured in previous titles, to take the lead role with the absence of the legendary Solid Snake. This isn't quite the Raiden we know, though, as [...More ]

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance [ Review ]

Finally, the long-awaited return of the Metal Gear franchise has come with Raiden taking the helm that Solid Snake had left in Metal Gear Solid 4. While the story has had all loose ends tied in the previous game, it seems that one character still wasn't given the benefit of closure. Being the second game of the series in which he's the main character, Raiden has to keep the ball rolling and slice his way through the opposition in this new Metal Gear game. The popular Metal Gear franchise, with Hideo Kojima behind it, has become a staple in Japanese releases, [...More ]

Metal Slug 3 (iOS) [ Review ]

Among platformers, the Metal Slug series is perhaps one of the best known action titles in the genre. Few ever come close to its mixture of great action gameplay and over-the-top characters. It was pretty obvious that a Metal Slug game should be ported to the iOS, and this particular one does the popular series some justice in the App Store. This iteration isn't as linear as the original titles. You get to finish levels through multiple pathways, which is good for a classic action platformer that usually tends to go with the traditional point A to B style. [...More ]

Twisted Metal [ Review ]

The Twisted Metal series has been entertaining gaming fans for over a decade and has basically stuck to the basic “drive around and shoot anything and everything that moves” formula.
