| Secret Black Cars | 91% | |
| The vehicle line-up in the used car showrooms is constantly changing. On the last week of the changing cycle--begining day 694--four secret black race cars appear in the showrooms. Two of the cars are in the Used Car Showroom I and the other 2 are in Showroom II, and they only appear for one week (Gran Turismo time). All 4 cars can be purchased for about Cr.8,500,000 total, which is an absolute bargain for these sort of race cars. | ||

| Horse Power | 91% | |
| When you buy or receive a new car, before driving it change the oil. This will increase the Horse Power of the car, which sometimes can be a pretty significant increase. | ||

| Transfer Files | 91% | |
| If you have a save file from GT3 you can import money and licenses into GT4. You can transfer license qualifications but you do not receive the unlockable items that come with the license when you get them without importing. You can transfer money up to 100,000 dollars. This can only be done once. | ||

| Fast Racing For Fast Profit | 90% | |
| Start out with any vehicle you like. When you make enough money to make your vehicle faster using the beginner hall, move over the the special conditions Hall. Defeat the 1st race (Rally d'Umbria) and you will receive a Cadillac CIEN '02. Get more money and put more power into your Cadillac CIEN '02 (you won't have to if you don't want to). The CIEN will gain almost 1000+ HP. Go to the 2nd race with the CEIN in the Special Conditions Hall called Rally d'Capri. After you win that race you will get a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car '02 which you can sell for more than $230,000+. Keep racing that race and keep making the money. To obtain over 260,000 credits easily just take your best car and take it into the Rally d'Capri easy in the Special Conditions hall. Once you obtain the car sell it and you get over 260,000 credits. You can repeat this over and over and soon enough you should be able to afford anything you want. Enter the European Hall event 1000 Miles! I recommend either the Ginetta G4 '64 (won from Beginner Lightweight K Cup) or the Chevelle SS 454 '70 (won from American Muscle Car Championship). Enter the Cote d'Azur race (I think the last one works just the same). Make sure your car's HP is near or above 200. Put it on B-spec, 5-Push, overtake, 3x speed. Come back after a couple hours (this works best if you leave it overnight). You should have won the race, along with 150,000 credits! This can also be done with the championship race, which is 4 races. 4 races times 150,000 credits plus 300,000 credit prize equals 900,000 credits. The prize car is crappy, but who cares, you have 900,000 credits from doing nothing! | ||

| Hidden Controls | 90% | |
| There are a number of "hidden" controls in Gran Turismo 4 that will make navigating the game a bit easier. On the main Gran Turismo Mode screen, press L1 to jump the cursor to Home, and press R1 to jump the cursor to the country of your vehicle's manufacturer. When looking at your garage in Home, press START to bring up the vehicle settings screen. When changing your vehicle's settings, press START to enlarge the Engine Power/Torque curve. At the end of a series race, press START to skip the finish times and championship points screens. During a replay, press L3 to fast-forward. During a pit stop, press X to to stop refueling, letting you get out of the stop faster. With the Driving Force Pro wheel, press any combination of the LEFT, RIGHT, and DOWN buttons on the D-pad to look in that direction while driving. | ||

Win both of those races and you get 10,000 credits (5,000 each race) and the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car '02, which sells for about 265,000 credits. That was easy, but you can get more! Go back to the same rally (if you struggled the first time, don't sell the Rally Raid Car and use it). When you get there, go to one of the races and hit Entry. Something will pop up. Just hit Clear. This allows you to race the rally again and receive another prize car. It does not affect your career progression at all. Race the rally again and receive 10,000 more credits and another Rally Raid car. You can do this as many times as you like. Race, sell, clear, race again. In about an hour, I had over 3 million credits. | ||

| The Cash Climb (Up to C.r,893,000 In 15 Mins) | 67% | |
| This method takes a little while to build up but once you get to it you cannot go wrong. Start of by winning the Japanese 90's championships with the top starter car (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Gsr '92). It's an easy race and the prize car is a pretty respectable Nismo 400R. Spend whatever cash you have on it and enter the Tuning Car GP in the professional hall. Do the Fuji 90's Race a couple of times, driving across the grass on the last chicane and you will win 10,000 per race. Spend it all on making the Nismo quicker and more agile. Now this is where the fun begins. Take it into the special conditions hall and race the Umbria rally. For the win you get the Awesome Cadillac Cien. It's quick and even quicker if you spend some cash on speed parts. Now get in and take the Cadillac back to the special conditions hall. Race the Capri Rally (2 Laps Costa Amalfi each way) and you win a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car. Race it again and again to win 3 or 4 of them. Go to your garage and sell each for C.r.260,000. Now the big time cash. Use the money you got from selling the Toyotas to buy a ABT Audi TT Touring Car. Spend all your money on making it as fast as possible. Go to Deutsch Touring Car Meistershaft (IB license required) and enter the series. B-Spec every race (2nd option on menu screen>R1>L1+Right on dpad x2) and make sure it is on the race monitor speed x3. Start by setting the pace to 5 and set overtake on. (You may want to qualify for opera paris due to few overtaking points) Now watch your car fly past all of the others turn back the pace a it and remove overtake then sleep to the finish of each race. Each race win gets you C.r,15,000(x5=75,000). Series win gets you another C.r,75,000 and gives you a AMG CLK GTR Race Car. You can either keep it and win other races with it or sell it for C.r,743,000. This funded my Gran Turismo career pretty much entirely (from repeating the series). I'm now at 80% Game completion and own all 4 secret black cars, a regular R92CP and Toyota GT1 as well and tonnes of JGTC cars and Other race cars alike. Enjoy ^_^ | ||

| The Ultimate start by a GT4 Geek | 62% | |
| The ultimate start. First, you start with Cr.10'000, which isn't a lot really. DON'T BUY A CAR! As this just wreckes the idea. Do your 'B' and 'A' licences before anything else. If you get all bronze on the 'B' then you get a Voltswagon Lupo 1400cc car 2002 model. If you like it, then keep it. I did and for a much later race you will need it. however, if you are lucky and get silver, you win a s**t mazda that is worth nothing! If you get gold you get a honda S500 which is a bit crap but you might as well keep it. Right, if you get all bronze like me again on the 'A' then you get a car that won't make you rather pull 12 fat joggers out of your face than to drive them. the car you win is a Potiac Sunfire GXP concept, FF, 2002 -cc 187hp, which is a lot. yeah and if you get silver or gold you get better car, yada yada yada but you have now Cr.13'300 (if you sold the lupo) to tune your car. First, give it the racing exhaust yeah it's Cr.4'500 but it should add around 20hp which is good. Then, go Chip it for er... it'll be from Cr.1-1'500 and adds around the same HPs but also makes your car Quicker in Acceleration and a wee bit better at going around corners. So you now have a good fast reliable car, so keep entering the Sunday Cup. This is where it gets good. Do the Sunday Cup untill you have over Cr.35'000, buy like selling the car you win, worth Cr. 8'738. Then go down to the tuner manufacture villiage and go to HPA motorsports, full model and buy the First and only car, With over 600hp! heh heh heh. Buy this then go to (long cheat this is) special coditions and to the second race easy. Do these, they are 1pt races so dam easy with the R32 HPA and you win something that I don't like driving but I love selling for just over Cr.250'000 . ENJOY!1! | ||

| # Credits and licenses Have a saved game file from Gran Turismo 3 or Gran Turismo 4: Prologue to start with extra credits and some of your previously earned licenses. Use the following steps to transfer your Gran Turismo 3 data to Gran Turismo 4. This must be done when you first start the game. It can not be done after you have already started and saved a game. Put a blank memory card into slot one and start Gran Turismo 4. When the message "Do you wish to create game data" appears, select "OK". When asked to name the save file, enter a name and select "OK". The message "Game data will now be created" will appear. It will then specify how big the save file is (1498 kb) and tell you what slot (slot one) it will be saved to. Select "OK". When the "Save successful" message appears, select "OK". The game will then tell you about its auto save feature. Select "OK". It then tells you about the flashing save icon. Select "OK". The game then tells you about not removing the memory card when the flashing save icon is flashing. Select "OK". Follow the next steps very carefully. The game tells that you can utilize a game save from Gran Turismo 3. It then asks if you would like to see details. Select "OK". You are told that you can transfer credits (up to 100,000). Select "OK". The game then tells you about updating the status of your licenses (A and B licenses). Select "OK". The game now tells you how to load the Gran Turismo 3 data. Read this carefully, then select "OK". You will be asked if you want to start the game. Select "Start". The loading screen appears, then the game brings you back to the main menu. Select "Gran Turismo mode", which is the second option down on the list. An arrow will appear on the "home icon". Press X to enter your home. At the top right of the screen, you will see the word "Status". Move the arrow over to it and press X. Take out the memory card that has the newly created Gran Turismo 4 data and insert the memory card that has your Gran Turismo 3 data stored on it. At the bottom of the status screen you will see (Square) return and (Start) transfer game data. Press Start, first making sure that your Gran Turismo 3 data in now in slot one. You will be asked if you want to transfer game data. Select "OK" Be careful, as you can only do it once. If you make a mistake, you will have to start from the beginning. A message stating that your credits have been transferred will appear. Select "OK". Finally, you will notice in the top right corner that you now have 110,000 credit. Release R2 when the small red light to change gears flashes or the car will not change gears. This useful for remaining at a given speed through a corner, or stretching the top end of a gear for a little extra speed or performance. # Toggle ghost racer After you finish one, try a B, A, IB, IA, or S license (1-16) or rally. The ghost racer will be on. If it confuses you, press D-pad Up to toggle it off or on. # License test help During the countdown in a license test, press R3 to display blue (acceleration) and red (braking) guides on your route. Note: This only works on the B and A license tests and tests where there is no pace car. # Race without the required licenses If you have obtained all your licenses except for the S License, you can still participate in S License races. You can earn money there to upgrade your cars, and buy or sell new and used ones. Additionally, at the places where you can buy your cars (for example, BMW), you can find races that use a certain model of that dealer. This will unlock some of the bonus cars you cannot normally buy or win in a race. The cars that you get are very fast, and you can sell them for a decent price. You can win different cars from series races that you have already completed. For some series, you are given the option if you would like to clear your current records. If you do this, you can race those courses over again to win another prize car. # Easy money After transferring your licenses and credits from Gran Turismo 3, buy the Dodge Viper GTS and soupe it up. Then, go to the Special Event races and compete in the Capri Rally Easy. After you win both races, you are awarded with a rally car worth 236,000 credits. Go back to the Capri Rally and compete in it again. You will be given the Same Rally Car. Sell one, and you will have 236,000 credits. Additionally, buy a decent car like an Evolution (must be of Japanese make) and upgrade it as much as possible. Then, go to Japan and compete in the All Japan race. Each gold awards you 7,500 credits (five races), and all golds gives you 35,000 credits. You will win a 350Z race car at the end. Then, compete in the All Japan race repeatedly. Each time you get all golds, you will get another 350Z that can be sold for over 318,000 credits. After transferring your licenses and credits from Gran Turismo 3, buy a Dodge Viper or any other fast car. Win the first special race. You should obtain the Cadillac Cien. Use this car to win the second special race. You should be awarded with a rally car worth 236,000 credits. Sell this car and keep repeating this process for easy credits. After transferring your licenses and credits from Gran Turismo 3, buy a Dodge Viper and equip it with a Racing Chip and Engine Balancing. Then, go to the Special Conditions events and enter the Capri Ralley. You should be able to easily win with the Viper. Win the rally four times, then buy and sup up a Mercedes Benz SLR Mclaren. Enter the Legend Of The Silver Arrow race to get the Mercedes Benz CLK Touring Car. After tuning the car up, go to the European Events and enter the fourth race in B-spec. After doing this, you will have 150,000 credits in prize money and a car that you can sell for 743,000 credits. If you do the race in race monitor mode, you can press R1 and Right(2) to make the race go by three times as fast. After transferring your licenses and credits from Gran Turismo 3, buy a Civic Type R (EP or EK). Then, add mods to it to get over 230 hp. Go to the Honda dealer and join the Civic races in the One-Make Races. Finish first in all the race courses and you will be awarded the Mugen MOTUL Civic Si Race '87 Car. Sell it for 90,000 credits. Then, repeat the process again. After loading your Gran Turismo 3 game credits (110,000 credits) and A and B licenses into your Gran Turismo 4 game save, go to Tuner Village in the lower left hand corner of the main menu. Select HPA Motorsports and buy the VW Golf look-alike, (2004 HPA Motorsports Stage II R32) for 31,870 credits. Exit from the Tuner Village and go to the Special Conditions Events icon. Enter the 2004 HPA Motorsports Stage II R32 into the Cost Di Amalfi race. Do both races forwards and backwards. This should only take about ten minutes with the 2004 HPA Motorsports Stage II R32. When you complete this event you will be rewarded with the 2002 Toyota Rsc Rally Raid Car, which has a selling price of 265,624 credits. Sell the 2002 Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car and enter the Cost Di Amalfi race again with the 2004 HPA Motorsports Stage II R32. You will be asked if you want to "Clear Records" from your previous races. Select "Clear" as your option. Enter the races again. Win both races and you will be rewarded with another 2002 Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car. Keep doing this repeatedly to get as much money as possible in the least amount of time. Within one hour you could have up to 1,650,000 credits. Keep returning here as your credits run out. Also, you will get an extra 10,000 credits for taking first place on both Costa Di Amalfi races. Also, the 2004 HPA Motorsports Stage II R32 can be entered into quite a few races very early in the game, so you do not have to waste your credits buying other cars. Start a game, then go to the Used Car Showroom 2 and buy a 1997 Civic Type R (ek). Give it more horsepower with the extra money you have, with a racing chip and an oil change. Go to One Make races in Honda. Go to the Type R races when you get your license and keep racing until you get enough money to buy a turbo kit. Then, go back and keep doing this until you have a lot of horsepower. Win all five races and at the end, you will have obtained 25,000 credits and a prize car worth 95,000 credits. You can keep doing this until you get enough to get a 1999 Skyline. Trick it out and go to the Japan races. Race the 90's Series and win all the races. You get a Nissan 350Z. Trick it out and it will have 700 or more horsepower. Then, go to Japan races again. This time go to the Tournament. Do B Mode so you do not have to get the big license and put it on 5+overdrive and press R1. When you are in this mode hold L1 + Right to win all the races. You will get another 350Z. When you trick this one out, it will have over 900 horespower. Start a game, then go to the License Center and get the International B License. Then, get the best car you have and go to the Special Condition races. Win as many as needed to unlock concept, rare and very expensive cars. You can sell the Toyota Rally Raid car for about 265,000 credits. However you can keep it if desired and race in the dirt and snow events with it. Sell all the cars that you do not need. Get any car that has about 400 hp and go to the Special Condition Event. Select the second race from the top. Defeat the CPU in both races and you will get a car that can be sold for 260,000 credits. You can also use that car to race in the same event. When prompted to clear the trophies, answer "OK". When you win, you will be awarded the same car. Get the SLR Mclaren and tune it up. Go to the Mercedes event and win Legends Of The Silver Arrow to get a touring car as an award. Win several of these then sell them at 116,000 credits each. Save one four yourself and enter the Touring Car Championship in the European Events. Win it to get a CLK GTR car worth 743,000 credits. Win a Chevy Chevelle SS 454 '70 from the American Muscle Car Championship (using a suped up Ford Mustang '05 recommended). Add a stage 2 or 3 engine setup then a supercharger to get 600 to 700 hp. Take it to the Classic Muscle Car championship and race using B-Spec. You can get a fast 10,000 credits because the race is only two laps (Laguna Seca recommended). Repeat this as many times as desired. Once you win the Cadillac CIEN from the two easy Citta di Aria races, and have acquired the IA License, go to the Normal Tsukuba Circuit Wet race. If you manage to win the race (which should not be too difficult in the CIEN as long as you can handle driving on the wet road), you will earn 10,000 credits and a Mazda6 Touring Car worth over 93,000 credits (if sold). Get a good rally car. It does not need any special tires. An Evo 8, MR is recommended. Then, go to the Special Conditions Events. Go to the second race in the event, known as the Capri Rally. It is fairly easy, but you need a A-Spec: National License. Once you win both races, you will get a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car that can be sold for 265,624 crredits. You can then go back into the same race, clear all your records, and win the car again. Go to Special Condition Events and race in the Capri Rally (easy). If you win, you will get the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car. You can sell it for 265,624 credits. However, keep that car at first to make it easier to win the same race again. Do the A and B Licenses. Select the car of your choice and go to Special Conditions. Go to the second one on easy (Capri Rally).Win both of the races and you will be awarded a Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car, which is worth 265,624 credits. Keep one of the cars yourself, clear your records when prompted, and win the Toyota again. Enter The Vette! Vette! Vette! and do all the races. You will get a race car Corvette that is worth about 106,000 credits. Enter again and clear the races. Win it again and on top of the 50.000 credit prize, you will be awarded the same car again. Repeat this as much as desired. Buy a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and do the standard modifications (flywheel, stage 1 turbo, brakes, etc.). Then, go to the Japanese Manufacturers and race the Mitsubishi Evolution series. All of the tracks are very quick, fairly easy, and pay out 2,000 credits for first place and 1,000 credits for second place. Practice as much as desired for a few extra thousand credits. After you get all Golds, you will be rewarded with the 70's model Lancer that sells for over 30,000 credits. This trick requires two memory cards. Use the first memory card and buy good car for 10,000 credits or under. Trade the car to the other memory card and buy upgrades for it. Delete the block on the first memory card and restart so that you get 10,000 credits again. Trade it back to memory card one and repeat the process. This trick requires two memory cards. Save your game onto memory card one. Turn off the game. Then, turn it back on and load the game that was saved on memory card one. Next, save your game onto memory card two. Gain 5,000 credits. To do this, have enough money to by a car with at least 100 hp. Go to Easy and win the Sunday Cup's Super Speedway five times. Winning the race in first place is very easy. Rev the engine, and when it says "Start", do not get in the pack. Instead, stay to the left and you will finish in first in thirty seconds. After making 5,000 credits, sell the car that you raced in the Super Speedway. Buy a Stage 4 Turbo Kit (or the highest one available) for your new car. Save the game onto memory card one. Load the game from memory card two. You will have over 500,000 credits. This trick takes about thirty minutes. This trick requires some time. Once you can do it, this trick will give you over 890,000 credits in about ten minutes. You must have the IA license and the Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car. To get this car, you must acquire or buy any Mercedes-Benz car that will be fast enough to win the Legend of the Silver Arrow competition (go to Germany, then Mercedes-Benz, then One-make races to find the Legend of the Silver Arrow event). Winning the Legend of the Silver Arrow competition will give you the Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car. Once you have the Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car all the way fixed up to its maximum and the IA license, you are ready to start the trick. Enter the Deutsche Touring Car Meisterschaft Series race in the European Events. There are five races in this competition: Opera Paris, Mid-Field Raceway, High-Speed Ring Reverse, Nurburgring Nordschieife, and Fuji Speedway. You will not be doing any of the racing yourself, as you will instead use the B-spec Director's Mode on all five races. When you are ready to start the first race in the series, activate B-Spec Director's Mode. The race will now begin, and you will see the numbers one through five at the top of the screen. Press D-pad Right(2) so that it is highlighting the number "5", which signifies "Push" (the car will go as fast as it can). Once "5" is highlighted, press Triangle to put the car in overtake mode. Now that "5" and the little symbol next that number at the top of the screen are both highlighted, you are all set. Press R1 so that you are in Monitor Mode. While in Monitor Mode, hold L1 and press D-pad Right(2) so that the race will go by three times as fast. Do the same exact thing for all five races. It should take about ten minutes for all five races because you are in B-Spec mode. You should finish in first place always if done correctly. After all five races you will have 75,000 credits for being first place, plus an additional 75,000 credits for being the overall champion of the series event. On top of those 150,000 credits, you will also be rewarded the Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car, which you can sell for about 743,000 credits. # A-Spec points If you enter a race, and all the cars are very low end and you have a high end car, you will get very minimal A-Spec points awarded and vice versa. For example, enter a 800 hp car into a race with the other five cars having between 200 hp to 300 hp. You will probably be awarded only 1 A-Spec point if you win the race. Conversely, if you enter a 800 hp car in a race with five other cars that have between 750 hp to 900 hp, you will be awarded anywhere between 50 to 100 A-Spec points. Additionally, to get the most A-Spec points out of a race and still have an advantage over the rest of the field you are up against, do the following to your car. Equip the following: nitrous bottle, any type of transmission, any clutch, any flywheel, any limited slip configuration, the carbon driveshaft, racing brakes, the brake controller, any suspension configuration, the VCD controller, the increase rigidity option, and the rigidity refresher plan. You can also configure the "Auto" setting on the "Transmission" option under "Setting" without losing A-Spec points. Note: Do not do any weight reductions. This will cost you A-Spec points for every race and is irreversible. For example, if you start a race that is worth 108 A-Spec points, doing a Stage 1 Weight Reduction will cost you about 17 to 20 A-Spec points, bringing the total down to 88 to 91, and so on for Stages 2 and 3. If you have already done a weight reduction to the car that you are in, you can lower the quality of the tires currently equipped to bring the total back up to the race's original amount and/or more. However, lowering the tire quality greatly reduces the chances for success. For example, if you have S2 Tires equipped with a Stage 1 Weight Reduction and only get 84 A-Spec points for the race, try to drop the tire quality down to maybe a S1 or N3 tire to get more A-spec points for that race. You can change how many A-Spec points you can receive by entering a single race, then exiting it by using the "Exit" command in the lower right hand corner of the screen, then re-entering it again. You should notice a change in the cars you are going against, and the amount of the A-Spec points awarded. The amount of A-Spec points will change each time you exit and re-enter the race, You could get more or less. It is possible to receive as low as 1 and as high as 200 A-Spec points for the same race, but against different cars. Unfortunately what you end up with is completely random. Keep entering and re-entering until you get a good amount of A-Spec points. The CPU cycles through different amount ranges, depending on the equality between the cars in the race. Remember not to change the car's hp leave it stock. Also, do not do any weight reductions, port and polish, or engine balancing once they have been installed they cannot be uninstalled. The tires can be stock or ones of lesser quality. This is key to getting the most A-Spec points out of any race. After earning some credits using the "Capri Rally" trick, buy a Dodge Ram pickup and equip it with every available modification, including the center differential controller set to about 30% torque to the front wheels. Select tires according to the race that you plan to enter, and lower the ride height as far as it will go. This will give you a 725 horsepower all-wheel-drive beast that handles fairly well and will earn you 125 to 200 A-Spec points in every race, even though the other cars in the race may be of much lower specification. This setup easily blew the doors off a Pagani Zonda C12 in the NA series under Professional Events as well as a few other cars that should, by simple laws of physics, be much faster. To get a lot of A-Spec points quickly, do the missions. Each of them will give you 250 points if you win. # Speed up B-Spec races While in a B-Spec mode race, press R1 to switch to "Race Monitor". Hold L1 + D-pad Right and you can make the race go up to three times faster. The only downside is that you must stay on the Race Monitor screen in order to keep the race sped up. It will switch back to 1x speed when you go to "Broadcast View" mode. # Easy car manufacturers trophy wins For an easy win in trophies held by the cars manufacturers for a specified model and you have a lot of money, look for a tuned-up version of that car (especially for the Japanese trophies) at Tuner's Village. For example, the HKS Hyper Genki Silvia '03 (sold at the HKS shop) will allow you to easily win the Silvia Trophy. The RE Amemiya Asparadrink RX-7 ( sold at the RE shop ) will allow you to easily win the RX-7 Trophy. # Easy win in Nurburgring 24 Hour Endurance Race Obtain the 2004 Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II (the white and black car in the opening sequence) from the Professional Events-GT World Champion race (ten races totaling 136 laps on ten different tracks). Buy everything available for the car, most importantly the Super Hard Racing Tires (R1s). Set the Auto Transmission feature to a value of 18. Equip the R1 tires and get ready for at least twelve hours (of sped up time) of hell. You must do this race in B-Spec mode with the 2004 Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II in order to guarantee a long hard fought win within thirteen hours real time instead of twenty four hours real time. In B-Spec mode, you have the option to speed up the race by entering the Race Monitor Screen by pressing R1. Then, hold L1 and use the D-pad Left or D-pad Right to go from real time up to three times normal speed. At the beginning of the race, set the auto pilot to a value of 5 (Push) and turn the overtake feature on by pressing Triangle. Once you get ahead of the pack and have a decent lead, turn off overtake and set the autopilot to 2 (Cruise). You should only have to pit every three to four laps. Get everything every time that you pit (tires and fuel). Set the autopilot back to 2 (Cruise) once you leave the pit. Continue this strategy until the end of the race. This will net you a Formula One car. # Shorter 5 and 10 race championships win These are the races where you are forced to race five or ten races in a consecutive order. For each first place finish you obtain, you will get 10 championship points. For second place, 6 points are awarded. In a five race championship, you can get a total of 50 points. In a ten race championship you can get 100 points. The reason for the points is to determine an overall winner for the championship. If you have more points than everyone else, you win. For example, assume at the eighth race you have 80 points (first place x eight races = 80 points), and second place has 48 points (second place x eight races = 48 points). There are only two races remaining, and a total of 20 points to still be awarded. If second place has 48 points + the 20 points remaining to get, this only gives second place a total of 68 points for the entire championship if he were to win the last two races. You have 80 points, which is more than the second place's 68 points. If you were to quit out of races nine and ten and give the points to second place, you will still win the championship. Once the championship is complete, you can always go back and "clean up" to get gold on the two races that you did not do at anytime, thus shortening the championships length. This also works on five race championships. Just make sure you have enough points to win if you quit the last two races. You will still be rewarded the championship money and car. You can also do this in the middle of the championship. For example, if you did the first four races and the fifth is Nurburgring, you can quit out of it and move onto race six. As long as you have more points than second place, you can quit out of as many races as desired, thus shortening the length of the overall championship. # Skyline GT-R Test course in Missions Hall There are five opposing Skyline GTRs on the track. Straight at the start of the race, make sure you stay directly behind the GTR in front of you. It will block the wind and make you go faster, making it easier to catch up. When you enter the first turn, they will slow down. Go to the outside of the turn and pass them from the outside. You will then see the red GTR in the front. Keep going as fast as you can and hit it at full speed. You will get a five second penalty, but it will not bother you much. Hitting the red GTR will send it ahead of the pack. When the penalty is gone, get behind it and catch up to it, but do not pass it. Instead, get behind it and "push" it. Stay directly behind it all along the three laps. In the straights you should be able to reach 275km/h. Upon entering the very last turn of the race, go to the inside before the red GTR brakes, and stay to the inside of the turn. Do not go where it is flat stay in the bent. Near the end of the last turn, you should be close enough. Get behind the yellow GTR and you should be able to catch up to it before crossing the finish line. This test is very difficult and may require a few attempts. # Racing without the required licenses For example, if you have obtained all your licenses except for the S License, you can still participate in S License races. Enter the race with the correct requirements for the race in B-Spec mode. You will still earn the prize car and the credits. # Avoid driving mission penalty On Special Event/driving mission mode in simulation, if you hit a wall or car and receive a penalty for it, check if your RPM is above the rev-limiter for the gear that is below (i.e., if you are in third gear then the gear below is second gear). To check if you are above the rev-limiter, if the RPMs are almost redlining then you can over-rev if you downshift. If you downshift when you are redlining in one gear, then the rev-limiter will not allow the clutch to be engaged, allowing you to stay above the 30 mph penalty. You will lose speed, but not as rapidly as you would if you were to drop down to 30 mph for five seconds. # Shorten race duration Enter a race. Instead of racing in A-Spec Mode, select B-Spec. Once the race begins, there will be an option at the bottom of the screen that reads "Race Monitor" press R1 to access this. A screen will appear with information. At the bottom of this screen there will be an option for "Change View Speed". Hold L1 and press Right one for 2x the race speed, or twice for 3x the speed. This is very useful in endurance races. Note: Once this is done the car will pit automatically, and you will have to redo this every time that it pits. Additionally, you can shorten endurance races by going to the pits in the middle of the race and switching the mode to B-Spec. # Extra horsepower Give your brand new car an oil change immediately when you get it (before driving it). It will usually gain between 5 to 30 hp. # Better handling When racing on tracks with a lot of turns and twists, use the nitrous while turning. Your car should handle a lot better. # Ride the walls In certain courses when there are gradual turns with hard walls and no dirt between them and the track (for example, Costa di Amalfi), instead of braking and trying to take the inside of the turn at the suggested speed, put the pedal to the floor and head for the outside wall of the turn. As soon as your car begins turning in the "suggested" direction the wall is pushing it to, turn your wheel in that direction. If you manage to hit the wall at the correct angle without hitting it directly, you will "scrape" the side of the walls at high speed, and exit the turn quicker and with more speed than braking and turning on the inside. This can shave off quite a few seconds from your lap time with enough practice. # Practice On any race that you enter with an option to "Practice", it is a hidden qualifying round. It is actually a qualifying round for the race that you are entering. Do the practice until you see first place at the top of the screen. Once you see this, quit practice and start the race in either A or B-Spec modes. Your car will start in first place. # Random cars Watch out for random cars that can acquire parts from Tuner Village other than the cars you can buy there. A VW Golf that you bought from the VW dealership in Germany can get parts from Germany/VW and Tuner Village. A Nissan Skyline that you bought from the Nissan dealership can get parts from Japan/Nissan and Tuner Village, etc. There are too many cars to list. The same applies to Used and Historic cars. # Special black cars You can find very high powered cars in the Used Car showrooms. For example, you may see a black (not the usual red and white) Toyota GT-ONE (TS020) Race Car for 1.2 million credits. This is less than half price from Toyota at 4.5 million credits. Other special cars that are available for very low prices are the Mazda 787B Race Car (black), the Nissan R92CP Race Car (black), and the Nissan R390 GT 1 Race Car (black). These cars appear during the last week of the showroom changing cycle (starting at day 694). Additionally, the special black Mazda 787B '91 is found in the used car shop when you reach 694 game days. The car has more HP than the usual Orange/Green Mazda 787B '91 you can buy at Mazda's shop. # Wheelie at 360 mph Go to Toyota's classic cars and purchase the Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) for 4,500,000 credits. Buy everything available for the car including the R5 racing tires. Once you have purchased and souped it up, go to the Power and Speed Icon in the top right corner of the map. Select "Driving Park". Then, select MAX Top Speed Challenge to the right, but go backwards on the track. After the loading screen, go to settings (little tool box). Equip and set the following: Tires R5, Nitrous (set the value to 50), Turbine Kit (Stage 4), Suspension (Racing) set the spring rate and the ride height to the lowest possible value (4.0) and (55) respectively full Customizable Transmission (set the final gear to a value of 3.000) and the (Auto to 25), Driving Aids, (set all three to 0), Down Force (set front to 38 and rear to 88) and leave everything else stock. When you enter the track, accelerate as usual, but go backwards. Wait until you are on the back stretch to use the nitrous to get it over 360 mph and into a wheelie. As you round the last corner leading into the beginning of the back stretch, hit the nitrous and watch the nose of the car and the speedometer rise. # Special rims The "Today's Special Rims" rotate every thirty game days. There are twenty nine different sets of rims. There are 439 total "Today's Special Rims". If you see a set you like, you will only see them every twenty nine game days -- buy them while you can. # See sparks Get a fast car and go to the Max Speed Test. Get to about 200 mph, and on one of the banked corners get very low and swerve hard to the right. Hit the side so that you go up in the air. If you get the nose of your car up high you will land on the back bottom of the car (you cannot see this happen until you watch the replay). When you finish, watch the replay. You will see sparks fly as the car grinds against the paved road. # Pit stops Make a pit stop about every five to ten laps. If you watch your top speed, you will see that it will decrease about 5 mph every three laps. # Fire in Apricot Hill Drive in reverse and get to the second turn before you start going downhill. Look directly over on the mountain side to see what appears to be grayish smoke coming up and blowing towards the right. # Hidden message in Rally D'Umbria Enter the Rally D'Umbria in Special Events. When you start the race, look on the road just under the Gran Turismo finishing tape. On the asphalt the message "Dio lo benedice - fate il suo guidare il più sicuro e divertirsi" will appear, which has no sense as written, but should mean "God bless you...drive safely and have fun". # Very tall tree in Trail Mountain On the Normal Trail Mountain track, drive to the end of the big straightaway with the tunnel. Before you get to the big banked sharp turn, look out over the valley to see a very tall lone tree. # Retractable spoiler in Mercedes SLR McLaren 2003 Put any replay camera on the normal replay mode and look at the trunk area of the car. A wing comes out of the trunk to help slow the car down. # Recommended cheap car It is possible to get a very good car for only 14,000 credits. You will first need to transfer 100,000 credits from Grand Turismo 3. Go to the Used Cars, Late 90's section and hopefully there will be a Subaru Impreza there for just over 14,000 credits. Buy it, then take it directly to Subaru and tune it up as desired. If you have enough money remaining, go to the GT Auto center and its oil (to add about another 15 to 20 hp). Then, buy a new wing for it. You will now have a fast car and should have quite a bit of money remaining. # Recommended fast car Start by getting the A and B licenses without buying any cars. Use the Pontiac car and upgrade it until you are able to win the Capri Rally. Sell the reward car (260,000 credits) and buy a BMW M5. This will be your extremely fast car. Upgrade it with these upgrades: racing exhaust, both brake improvements, na tuning 1 and 2, port polish, racing chip, nos, triple clutch, racing flywheel,1.5 way limited slip, carbon driveshaft, fully customizable suspension, racing-medium tires, and all three weight reductions. It can easily win the Capri Rally (getting 150 in the straight), to buy you decent cars to get better A points. This car has about 700 HP. Purchase a Toyota Supra RZ from the secondhand car market from the late 90's, then go to the TRD modification shop, or a tuning house. Buy every horsepower mod for the car. Then, purchase the racing suspension, nitrous, and racing gearbox. Do not apply light weight. Then, go to the Top Speed Test and change the gearbox ratio to the last one (24). Change the final ratio by holding it down for six seconds, making the numbers smaller. Lower the car all the way for better wind resistance. If you can, get rid of as much downforce as possible. If you are not confident driving at very fast speeds, increase the stability bar by two levels. Turn the traction control down to level one (it will wheelspin up to gear 3). Change the NOS timing to 40. Then, drive until you reach fifth gear. Blow all the NOS down the mouth of your engine. The car will become difficult to handle. Make sure you can handle high speeds and hold the car steady around the corners. It is possible to reach 432 km/h with it. # Recommended modifications The first mod that should done to any vehicle is a spoiler kit in the GT Auto department. They cost 1,200 credits and give the greatest value for the money. Choose the ones to the far right, as they have the greatest downforce characteristics. Most cars can get a kit installed. Save money and do not purchase a Stage 3 NA kit and a supercharger, as they cannot be installed at the same time. Also, when going for the turbo upgrades, look for a fifth kit called "Original". This is usually cheaper than Stage 4. If you have the money to get this straight away, it is better to do this first, as it does the job of Stages 1 to 3 combined, and then some. A recommended strategy for a broad spectrum of cars is (in order): spoiler, full custom gearbox, computer chip, full custom suspension, NOS, race exhaust, then start on the engines. # King Dome in Seattle Circuit Just before Safeco Field (The Mariner's Stadium), the King Dome stands on the right. The King Dome was the Mariner's old stadium and was destroyed in a giant implosion on March 26, 2000, and thus should not currently appear in the game. # Cameramen In the Grand Canyon get to where you see the cameramen trying to dodge you and not get killed. In photo mode, press Select just before or after you pass the cameraman's original standing position, where he runs from the middle of the course. Take a picture, then back out. | Some GOOD advice | 29% | |
| Remeber that this advice is not actally CHEATS, it's advice. When you first start the game, don't do GTR-MODE, do ACADE mode then have a "test drive" to "get used" to the steering and other issues. Try doing an average car - such as the "corvette ZO6" or else. in GTR-MODE, just go along with your head. I mean that DON'T think about the prize your going to win when you're racing - you're thinking about prizes - not driving.(OK, your thinking that "this advice is NOT going to work" - but guess what? you're wrong.) MY saying is that "don't wink, just think"(the meaning of "wink" is that your "winking"(which means "happy".) when your driving - OK, I know that you can't wink to yourself.). And are you bad at turning around corners? try this! 1. First, when you approch the corner, for example, the corner turning right, go to the left side. 2. slowly move to the right. once you get to the "core" of the corner,(which is the bit you turn on, RIGHT next to the wall.) turn REALLY close to the wall. you should make it out of the corner correctly! PLEASE NOTE: sometimes, it might be a BIT IN-UNDERSTANDING. | ||
