| Mr. Grimm | 100% | |
| Driver: Mr. Grimm Age: 26 Height: 5'10'' Weight: 180 lbs. Special: Screaming Soul Mr. Grimm is probably the only vehicle in the history of the Twisted Metal series that you either love to use or just can not get into it whatsoever. This is for a very good reason; amongst all of the normal competitors, no one has weaker armor or a stronger Special weapon. Screaming Soul is just like a super version of a Power Missile; think of a Power Missile x2. Much like the Power Missile, the Screaming Soul shoots awkwardly, making it tough to aim and land accordingly. Grimm is fairly quick, as well, so if things get too rough you can always pull out of the battle. As for destroying Mr. Grimm... well, let's just say a little freeze and Power Missile action is a safe bet for instant destruction. | ||

| Axel | 100% | |
| Driver: Axel Age: 38 Height: 6'3'' Weight: 280 lbs. Special Move: Shock Wave Using Axel has many advantages, as far as his Special weapon goes. Axel has the upper hand in every rooftop battle known to man, as his Special is used to lift people into the air. It's not the most deadly, but it can shake opponents when you're in a bad, tight situation, and it can instantly kill anyone on a death drop rooftop. Axel doesn't have the best armor, but he, much like Hammerhead, is specifically built for ramming techniques. When fighting Axel, keep him at bay by freezing him so that you do not engage him up close. Never, ever charge at Axel, because you will always miss. | ||

| Warthog | 100% | |
| Driver: Colonel Hall Age: 36 Height: 6'4'' Weight: 255 lbs. Special: Patriot Missiles Warthog has quite a bit of armor, a good Special with the Patriot Missiles, and decent enough speed to catch up to Crimson Fury and Twister whilst turbo'ing. This makes Warthog a great candidate for newcomers to the series. Since Warthog is a tank after all, he may come as quite a defensive surprise when taking him on. Once you add a super buff like Shield activated, you will have a tough time ending his life since his defense is high enough to hold off Power Missiles for a while along with Shield invincibility. Whittle Warthog down little by little with Fire Missiles and landmines. | ||

| Minigame Haven | 100% | |
| As you progress throughout the game, you will find normal Teleporters that will take you to other areas in the stage that cannot be accessed normally (or at least extremely difficult to access otherwise). These Teleports are solid blue, however, you can find blue and red cyclone Teleporters that are hidden in each stage. These Teleporters will take you to a Minigame within the stage, where you can unlock fan favorite vehicles or new stages for Challenge mode. Check out our Battlegrounds section for more on the locations of these Teleporters. | ||

| Twister | 100% | |
| Driver: Miranda Watts Age: 25 Height: 5'2'' Weight: 100 lbs. Special: Tornado Twist The thing to fear the most when square dancing with Twister is not her Special weapon, which is quite scary it itself as it seems to actually carry the player for quite a while rather than scatter them after short levitation as in Twisted Metal 2. Instead, you will fear actually getting to Twister and finishing her off before she scatters towards the health pick-ups to regain life. We highly recommend using Homing Missiles to reach her as she makes those fast turns to cut around the bend and lose you. Twister is the fastest vehicle in the game, after all. | ||

| Sweet Tooth | 100% | |
| Driver: Needles Kane Age: Unknown Height: 5'9'' Weight: 185 lbs. Special: Napalm Cone Sweet Tooth is the Twisted Metal mascot for a very good reason: Needles Kane is an insane clown that has the mental capacity of a five year old. That's appealing, right? Sweet Tooth is the perfect subject for the Swarm Missiles since he is so very slow. Just load them up from afar and blast into him once they are fully charged. The Napalm Cone is fairly effective at mid-range when playing as Sweet Tooth and he also sports some excellent ramming abilities. It's very nice playing as the Toother simply because of the killer armor. Who would've thought that an ice cream truck could be as secure as a bank truck? | ||

| Grasshopper | 100% | |
| Driver: Krista Sparks Age: 15 Height: 5'1'' Weight: 105 lbs. Special: Body Slam Being a tiny modified go-cart/dune buggy, Grasshopper is prone to take a whole lot of damage. Not as much as Mr. Grimm, but deadly amounts when grabbed by Mr. Slam or hit with Patriot Missiles from Warthog. Grasshopper doesn't have that well of speed, either, so running from the battle after a few cheap hits might work against the really big folks, but against decent damage dealing light weight vehicles like Outlaw, you're in for a spanking. Depend on catching enemies in large clusters to knock them out. Against Grasshopper, simply use basic tactics. The only thing to watch out for is being stopped in a tight spot, as her Body Slam Special will certainly deal some damage to stuck competitors. | ||

| Shadow | 100% | |
| Driver: Mortimer Scharf Age: Long Dead Height: 5'3'' Weight: 113 lbs. Special: Soul Shadow Mortimer Scharf is a definitive health hog. The key to defeating Shadow, despite his very timely, tricky Special use, is to outrun him to those smaller health pickups in the area. This guy loves to completely nuke you as he runs for cover, as well, so watch out for quick 180-degree turns followed by Special moves, which is the Soul Shadow attack from the previous games. Shadow is the ideal candidate for the Freeze maneuver. Freeze him by pressing the proper button combination (found in our Basics section) to stop him from running away, and bomb him with Power Missiles/Napalm from there. | ||

| Thumper | 100% | |
| Driver: Angel Age: 25 Height: 5'7'' Weight: 120 lbs. Special: Balls of Fire With the absence of fan favorite Thumper in Twisted Metal Black, the pimpmobile makes its stunning return in Head-On with a few changes. The most important and noticeable change is the difference in Special weapons. No more Flamethrower for you up close and personal players; you're shooting great balls of fire now! This works out better, however, as Mr. Slam would have an unfair advantage against Thumper otherwise. The 2nd change is that Thumper is ever so slightly faster now, allowing you to keep up with the likes of Grasshopper and Outlaw. When fighting Thumper, drive around in circles around her and lay into her with Ricochets. | ||

| Hammerhead | 100% | |
| Driver: Catfish Age: 47 Height: 6'1'' Weight: 175 lbs. Special Move: Ram Attack Hammerhead has a new driver, as per usual, and makes a triumphant return after his absence in Twisted Metal Black. Hammerhead is the ideal vehicle for newcomers to the series simply because you can ram things and do massive damage to them in the process. As you could have guessed, the Ram Attack is ram based, and add that with a Ram upgrade and a Special Weapon upgrade... well, you get the picture. When facing Hammerhead, keep him at a safe distance. Use the same strategy against Hammerhead as you would against Mr. Slam: freeze him if he gets near, use Swarm Missiles and Power Missiles from afar, and Napalm to make him bounce over you. | ||

| Roadkill | 100% | |
| Driver: Marcus Kane Age: 35 Height: 5'11'' Weight: 255 lbs. Special: Boomerang Marcus Kane was the winner of the previous Twisted Metal tournament, and suffers from the insanity that became a reality in Twisted Metal Black. Roadkill is actually the ideal vehicle in the Twisted Metal tournament, as it is average in practically every way. Do not let this average appeal fool you, however, as Roadkill is also one of the easiest vehicles to master in the game, and one of the most effective. You're averaged out in every category, so play exactly how you feel like! When fighting Roadkill, watch out for the Boomerang, which can be avoided by an extremely fast boost from an extremely fast motor. Run laps around Roadkill and lay into him with some timely Power Missiles. | ||

| Crimson Fury | 100% | |
| Driver: Agent Shepherd Age: 34 Height: 6'1'' Weight: 200 lbs. Special Move: Reticle Pulse Blast Once the fastest car in the galaxy, Crimson Fury has taken a backseat to Twister in Twisted Metal: Head-On when it comes to speed. Crimson Fury is now on par with the likes of Mr. Grimm and Spectre in terms of speed, Crimson's once-vital point of existence. Instead, Crimson Fury is now known for his excellent C.I.A. blasting Special Weapon, which will certainly dent a few bumpers, and his magnificent handling (second to none, in fact). When facing Crimson Fury, get ready for some radical turns that will leave you guessing. It's best to track him down with some timely Swarm Missiles way in the background. Use rear blast Homing Missiles if he gets away from you. | ||

| Mr. Slam | 100% | |
| Driver: Simon Whittlebone Age: 33 Height: 5'9'' Weight: 200 lbs. Special: Bucket Slam Shake The toughest thing when facing Mr. Slam is to remember to get away at all costs. Getting close to Mr. Slam, even just the slightest bit, will certainly mean a near death experience due to his Special attack. Even if you brush up against him, he will pick you up, smash you into the ground and toss you away. Watch out when being stopped anywhere near him at all, as he will charge to ram you and take you out with his Special weapon. When facing Mr. Slam, never use Power Missiles as you need to be near to successfully launch them. Homing Missiles and Specials (depending on the vehicle you're in) are perfect, as well as landmine traps. | ||

| Outlaw | 100% | |
| Driver: Carl Roberts & Jamie Roberts Age: 31, 27 Height: 5'8'', 5'6'' Weight: 165 lbs., 135 lbs. Special: Tazer Outlaw is another perfect example of the definitive average vehicle. This does not mean that Outlaw is lackluster by any means; in fact, it means that Outlaw is one of the best-rounded vehicles in the game. Using the Tazer will certainly get you places in crowded rooms, as it slices through clusters of enemies like there is no tomorrow. With all of your stats combined, you can easily get through the game by utilizing each statistic. Chase down enemies and run from them with your speed, and use the Tazer in all instances. When fighting Outlaw, keep a safe distance from the Tazer Special and use Napalm to do the most damage from afar. | ||

| Regain Your Health | 100% | |
| Completing each stage in the Twisted Metal tournament is fairly tough in itself, much less without healing yourself via the lovely First Aid Kit square items that you can find throughout the stage. Try not to collect these until you're reaching dire straights, as you should keep them until you can no longer hold out. Beware, however, as the enemy vehicles can also collect these health items and refill their health gauges. | ||

| Chopper Loot | 100% | |
| One of the returning features from Twisted Metal Black is the helicopters that contain items. Throughout several stages in Head-On, you will find helicopters that drop down random pieces of ammunition, health, or other goodies to assist you in your battle for one wish (or your opponent, in fact). The loot changes after a few seconds, so time your loot grabbing. | ||

| Collect the Rent | 100% | |
| Upon defeating an enemy, you must run over their corpse to collect a triangular-shaped item simply known as an Upgrade. These Upgrades will enhance several things, depending on the amount of Upgrades you have received. The Upgrades include double jump height, 10% ram damage, turbo and energy regeneration speeds up, machine gun upgrade, armor upgrade, Special weapon upgrade, and the seventh upgrade will be randomly chosen between 15% extra health, extra ammo, or turbo and energy regeneration. You will lose your upgrades upon death. | ||

| Spectre | 96% | |
| Driver: Chuckie Floop Age: 19 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 195 lbs. Special: Ghost Missiles For one of the sharper feeling vehicles in the game, which usually means horrible defense and "run 'n gun" appeal boosted, Spectre is actually well-rounded. This isn't to say that Spectre isn't the ideal vehicle for hide and seek when low on health, since his Special weapon is a missile that travels through walls. When facing Spectre, you will want to take him out very quickly. Between the decent speed, the best handling in the entire game, and the tricky Special weapon, you will be pulling your hair out by the end of a level containing the ghastly ghost car. Spectre doesn't collect health to prolong a battle; he simply runs from it and attacks from afar. | ||
