Did you ever notice how some of the Pokémon that appear in Pokémon Stadium have different colors? The secret to the color variations lie in the names you give your Pokémon as well as your trainer ID number (assiged to you in Pokemon Blue, Red or Yellow, whenever you start a new game). While there are a few secret names that change only certain Pokemon's colors, there are a few naming tricks that result in different color variations. For example:
Use only lower caps (ie: poliwhirl)
Reverse the syllables (ie: DRILLBEE)
Abridge the names (ie: Pika)
Complete Gym Leader Castle and Stadium modes. Then, Pikachu, Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur and Mewtwo will appear on the title screen.
Immediately after you choose a move and you want to go first instead of the CPU, hold L and press A. Note: This trick only works about 50% of the time, mostly in the Pika Cup.
If you use an attack that you know will kill the opposing Pokémon, but will hit you with the recoil, make sure that your Pokémon has at least 20 HP left. Use the attack and you will not suffer the recoil damage.
To unlock a hidden 6-on-1 battle with Mewtwo, beat the Gym Leader Castle and get trophies in all 10 tournaments in the Stadium Mode. The map screen will now turn to a night scene and a bonus tournament will open up in which you battle against the psychic super-Pokemon, Mewtwo (#150). Once you beat Mewtwo, you unlock a new game mode.
Complete R-1 mode, defeat Mewtwo, complete R-2 mode, and defeat Mewtwo again. Enter the gallery screen, then hold L + R and highlight the "Print" option. Keep holding the buttons until "Print" changes to "Bonus" to access sixteen more stickers.
Once you have beaten both the R-1 mode (including Mewtwo) and the R-2 Mode (including Mewtwo), you are given a set of bonus stickers that you can access in the Gallery Mode. When you're on the Gallery main screen, press and hold L and R and move the Cursor to Print. If you keep the buttons pressed, the Print option will now change to Bonus. You will now have access to a set of 16 bonus "wallpaper" stickers from all the different modes that you can print out at "Snap" Stations.
Play the Game Boy games at hyper speed with this alternate speed settings. To get it, you need to beat the Prime Cup (after you have already beaten the Poké Cup). You can switch between the different GB Tower speed settings during gameplay by pressing C Right.
Beat the Poké Cup. Once you have won all the Poké Cup tournaments, the GB Tower changes into Doduo GB Tower and a Doduo sticker appears on the Game Boy. The Doduo upgrade doubles the speed of the game play when playing the Game Boy game on your N64.
Win the Vs. Mewtwo battle to see the credits. When a scene showing the Poke Cup Arena appears, look at the roof lights to see that they are flying.

There are two secret speed upgrades to the GB Tower Game Boy emulator that let you play Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow at much higher speeds:
Have you ever wondered how you can get the elusive Amnesia technique? Well, it's hidden deep in Pokemon Stadium. Unlocking it will take a while, but it's definitely worth it. You have to register ALL 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame. Whenever you beat a tournament (or Gym Leader Castle), your six Pokemon are entered into the Hall of Fame. It doesn't matter whether you use rental Pokemon or your own, but you can't have any gaps. Once you've filled it all up, you are awarded a free Psyduck bonus Pokemon that knows the Amnesia technique.
Complete one of the Gym Leader Castles of the Elite Four or your rival to get one of the following random Pokémon that can be transferred back to your Game Boy Pokémon game:
Eevee
Hitmonlee
Hitmonchan
Squirtle
Charmander
Bulbasaur
Omanyte
Kabuto
Complete the Gym Leader Castle. Then when you want to complete it again, go to the Gym Leader Castle, go directly to the Elite 4, and defeat your rival.
Yes, it's true: Surfing Pikachu is hidden in Pokémon Stadium. To teach your Pikachu Surf (a technique it can normally not learn), you need to first unlock the R-2 (Round 2) mode. Then do the following:
Enter the R-2 Prime Cup's Master Ball division (you have to beat the first three divisions first). Assemble a team that contains a Pikachu that does not yet know Surf. You HAVE to use a Pikachu from your Game Boy game. You cannot unlock Surfing Pikachu using a Rental Pokémon. Do not register your team! Pick it directly from your Game Boy cartridge.
You now have to beat the Prime Cup's Master Ball division using a three-Pokémon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu has to be in every one of the eight battles. You are not allowed to use any continues. If you do, you won't get Surfing Pikachu.
Once you have fulfilled all the above conditions and beaten the cup, you are shown an award screen with Pikachu standing on a surfboard. From here on, Pikachu can use the Surf technique both in battle and during gameplay (Game Boy versions only). If you've got Pokémon Yellow, you can now also access the hidden Surfing Pikachu mini-game. Simply go to the small hut on the northern beach of Route 19.
Note: This is the Pokemon Stadium game from North America, not to be confused with the Japanese Pokemon Stadium. This game is titled Pokemon Stadium 2 in Japan.
Place the desired Pokemon in a separate box from which you have your regular Pokemon. Next, transfer that box to the 64box on the N64. Then shut off the system (if you only have one transfer pack) and insert desired Game Boy pak. If you have two transfer packs, then just switch the Game Boy pak with the one you are going to trade to. Then, transfer the box with the Pokemon in it to the other Game Boy pak and you will have the Pokemon without giving one in return.
When battling normal type Pokemon do not use Seismic Toss. It can be a fighting move, but is not very effective. The same happens with the Mega Drain attack when battling some Ground Pokemon in the Poke Cup, Prime Cup and Gym Leader's Castle.
While your Pokémon is doing their attack, hold Down + L and repeatedly press A. Then when your Pokémon attacks, hold Down + L + A until the damage is taken. This is very effective when you attempt a fatal attack. Note: This trick only works between 80% to 90% of the time.
In one player mode with three CPU controlled opponents, successfully complete "Who's the best?" five consecutive times on the hard difficulty setting within one match. Hyper will be unlocked as a new difficulty setting for CPU controlled players.
This trick requires a Game Boy Game Shark and Pokémon Yellow. First start the game and enable the Game Shark code to catch Mew. Put it first in your line-up, then save the game. Go to the Game Shark screen and enable the code for the first Pokémon in your line-up to be any desired Pokémon. Check your stats and it should display your selected Pokémon's picture, but with Mew's name and information. Save the game. Place the game in the transfer pak and go to the Pokémon Stadium building. When prompted to select Pokémon, choose the one that was Mew. When you start the match, the Pokémon will be Mew.
Complete all Cups in Stadium mode, and defeat all opponents in the Gym Leader Castle. Mewtwo is the last opponent you will face in both Round 1 and Round 2 versions of the game.
Mew will become playable, as a "Rental" Pokémon, in the Round 2 version of the game. He can only be played in the Prime Cup tournament, Gym Leader Castle, Free Battle, and Mewtwo Battle modes.
Do not trade a Mew level 10 or higher in the trading mode in Pokémon Stadium. It will glitch the game, and if you want your data back, you must call Nintendo (1-800-225-3700) to fix it.
Do not transfer Missingno or Mew to Pokemon Stadium. It may glitch the game and make it unplayable.
If Missingno present, select the gallery and choose where it is located. It should resemble a baby Rhydon that looks purple.
Place a Game Boy game with a Missingno in the line up or box. Do not register it. Go to the snapshot area and select a Missingno or any other glitched Pokemon. When you get outside to take pictures, the Pokemon will look like a miniature Kanghaskhan or Rhydon.
To get the secret R-2 Mode (as well as a brand-new title screen) defeat Mewtwo after you have beaten the Stadium Mode and Gym Leader Castle Mode. You will now see the final credits sequence, which will unlock the harder R-2 Mode and all new battles. You can toggle between R-2 and Regular Mode at the start-up screen.
Complete the entire Poké Cup to get a sticker on the GB Tower. This will allow you play Pokémon on the Nintendo 64 twice as fast. If you beat the Masterball in the Prime Cup, a "Superfast" setting will be unlocked in the GB Tower. The title will change to "Doduo GB Tower". Press C-Left to activate it.
Naming any pokémon "PIXEL" will change its color.
Ninetales: PIXEL/NINELAR: darker red tails. NINE-TALES: yellow tails

Rhydon: DEATSENTEN: purple. PIXEL: ?
Bulbasaur: BULANCE: yellow, green and blue. PIXEL: ?

Seismic Toss and Night Shade are special moves. The damage they inflict is equal to their level. A level 63 Gengar will inflict 63 HP damage to the other Pokemon, regardless of type, level, or defense. A level 76 Machamp will inflict 76 HP damage to the other Pokemon, regardless of type, level, or defense (except for ghosts, which are immune to normal moves). Also, Psywave inflicts HP damage 1 to 1 1/2 times the level of the attacking Pokemon. A level 50 Alakazam can inflict anywhere
When you start a new game, you can start with all three beginning Pokémon by starting over and choosing one of them in the Game Boy Pokémon game. Then, capture a Pidgey or Rattata. Save it to the boxes on Pokémon Stadium. Repeat the steps with a different Pokémon until you get all three. You can also save and keep Pokémon from your old game that you still want before starting over.
Use a Pokemon that has substitute. Use the substitute and it will look like Missingno. does in the snapshots.
Get a Raichu that knows SURF (as seen by Surge's Raichu). It will put its tail under itself and use it as a surfboard.
Use the following trick when your Pokémon is receiving a fatal attack, such as when Thunder is used on a Water Pokémon, to leave you with enough HP to attack your opponent once. When your opponent's Pokémon begins to use their attack, hold Down + L + B until the energy takes its affect. When the energy leaves, you will have a chance to strike your opponent's Pokémon.
Note: This trick only works between 70% to 80% of the time. This will not work if Pokémon are totally mismatched, such as when a level 50 Pokémon is fighting a level 100 Pokémon.
Upload Pikachu from the yellow version of the game to Pokémon Stadium. When battling, Pikachu will say its name and have different motions for certain moves. Note: You must go to battle for this to work. Do not register Pikachu.
Put a box on the game, then put the Pokémon from a different game or the same one in the box. Then, go back to the lab and put the box back on the game that you are trading to, go to the box, and withdraw the Pokémon when you want or need it. Note: This also works with items. Give Pokémon to another Game Boy pak without getting one back Place the desired Pokémon in a separate box from which you have your regular Pokémon. Transfer that box to the 64box on the Nintendo 64. Shut off the system (if you only have one transfer pak) and insert desired Game Boy pak. If you have two transfer paks, then just switch the Game Boy pak with the one you are going to trade to. Then, transfer the box with the Pokémon in it to the other Game Boy pak and you will have the Pokémon without giving one in return.Game Shark codes without a Nintendo 64 Game Shark The "Import" feature and import pack can be used with Game Boy Game Shark codes while playing the original game or codes designed for it.
Put a box on the game, then put the Pokemon from a different game or the same one in the box. Then, go back to the lab and put the box back on the game that you are trading to, go to the box, and withdraw the Pokemon when you want or need it.
Use the transport feature of the cartridge to easily move Pokemon that are unique to the red, blue, or yellow versions between those Game Boy cartridges.
Note: This trick requires the Mega Memory Card from InterAct. Save your file on the Mega Memory Card. Go to the Pokémon Lab and put the Pokémon to be duplicated in a 64 Box. Reload your game on the Mega Memory Card and receive your Pokémon in the 64 Box. Repeat as many times as desired to create an unlimited number of the same Pokémon.
