| When solving a Picross puzzle in a 10 x 10 grid , here are some tips for quickly filling in spots : If a column/row has a 10, you can automatically fill in the entire column/row. If a column/row has a 9, you can automatically fill in the center 8 blocks of that column/row. If a column/row has a 8, you can automatically fill in the center 6 blocks of that column/row. If a column/row has a 7, you can automatically fill in the center 4 blocks of that column/row. If a column/row has a 6, you can automatically fill in the center 2 blocks of that column/row. | ||

| Using X-marks effectively to fill in the grid of a Picross Puzzle is as helpful in solving the puzzle as filling out solid blocks. When you run out of solid blocks that you can logically place in the grid, start looking for grid squares that cannot possibly have a solid block and fill those grid squares with Xs. After working in your Xs, you can go over the puzzle again to find the logical placement for more solid blocks. | ||
