Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Survival horror titles usually follow a set script which you can guess as you play along to some degree, but Silent Hill: Shattered Memories surprises you in every aspect - not least it's unusual twist on what you would expect a new Silent Hill title to be.
Things do start in a familiar fashion in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories though, with your lead character Harry Mason losing control of his car on the icy roads and crashes as he enters the small town of Silent Hill and awakes to the horrifying realisation that his seven-year-old daughter Cheryl is nowhere to be found. Beware the Ides of March: Silent Hill
Konami is bound and determined to own March with a slew of Silent Hill releases. The series has had a strong presence in media since the first game released on the original PlayStation. The success of the original game resulted in multiple sequels spanning many consoles and multiple video game generations, to other media such as a feature film, which is widely considered the best movie based on a video game to date.
In my long-winded editorial about how 2012 is going to be the year of Resident Evil, I realized that 2012 is also going to be a significant year [...More

Silent Hill: Homecoming
The success of Silent Hill titles in the past alone have been enough to build up a good level of anticipation for Silent Hill Homecoming, but living up to the high expectations of the genre's fan base is no easy feat.
The games' developers, Double Helix, have certainly been working on Silent Hill Homecoming long enough to give you some good expectations, such as a fresh plot, new chilling creatures and maybe even more gruesome ways to take out whatever crosses your path. Unfortunately, the game fails to deliver on all fronts and within the survival horror genre, Silent Hill Homecoming [...More
Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear [ Review ]
For most people, Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear may look like a Call of Duty clone with a pretty low price of $20, which makes it seem like a bargain at first. What's inside though is not a conventional modern shooter, but a cover-based lightgun shooter that's a lot like the arcade favorite Time Crisis series. However, you'd be playing this game with standard controllers, which already illustrates a big problem. Why play a shooter with standard controllers if you can't move around freely?
Some people still like on-rails shooters, and they can be pretty fun distractions at times. [...More

We begin with the third generation of video gaming, and I will cover the launches of the Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Master System, and Atari 7800. Future editions of this series will cover Nintendo and defunct console manufacturers, excluding [...More
Silent Ops (iOS) [ Review ]
Silent Ops is a throwback to the days when movies and television are filled with mentions of spies and secret agents infiltrating some evil dictator's country and destroying his base from the inside. Perhaps this cloak and dagger world, which has been translated into modern classics like the Goldeneye game, can do well in the iOS, and this game does quite well to present that case. Gameloft, one of the biggest mobile game developers in the world today, has taken the action genre and shaken it, not stirred, for the iOS platform.
When you start a game in Silent Ops, you [...More

Spiderman Shattered Dimensions [ REVIEW ]
As promised, this is the review for the Nintendo DS version of Spiderman Shattered Dimensions. I actually gave you a pretty good roundup about why that title, and a little explanation about each dimension. After playing it there are some changes in the Nintendo DS version alone I need to alert you to. The most important being: There is NO Ultimate universe! Yeah, apparently and according to the story in the game, the powers goes from one spidey to another via...mystic powers of an ancient artifact. The special abilities of the Ultimate spidey (wearing the Symbiotic suite) cannot be transferred [...More
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Trailer
That's correct, I'm sure there's no surprise here, I mean all spidey games eventually come to the pampered portable of the Big N but here's the thing, unlike other multi platform games Shattered Dimensions for the DS it's a whole new game made EXCLUSIVELY for the DS.
In case you're not a huge comic fan but do like the friendly spidey, I'll let you know about this game a little more. It will cover 4 different dimensions (doh!) of the spiderman universe so let's sum them up: -Spiderman Noir (A Sin-City like spidey dirty, violent, more mature)-Ultimate Spiderman, Amazing Spiderman [...More
