Demon's Souls or Dark Souls?Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls? Which is better? That’s been a question that a lot of gamers have asked. However, these gamers are basing their responses on very mixed criteria. Some decide which is better by claiming which of them is more difficult, some by which has better long-term nostalgia, and others simply decide which they enjoyed more. It’s about time that we put this short, yet complex question to rest. It’s time for the CheatMasters verdict.
Demon’s Souls came out in 2009. It was developed by a Japanese developer called From Software. It was only known for making the King’s [ ...More ]

House of the Dead Overkill - The Lost Reels [ Review ]The House of the Dead series of games has been around for some time now. Still, people who love zombie light-shooter games still lap up anything HOTD related (well, except for maybe the movie). In arcades and on many consoles, House of the Dead is synonymous with gory zombie blasting fun, and the game still manages to be among the pack leaders even in the light of more advanced and cutting edge zombie shooting games such as Left 4 Dead.
The title for best zombie shooter for mobile devices is still up for grabs, however, although House of the Dead Overkill [ ...More ]

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition [ Review ]Back in the days when what we now consider retro gaming was still the latest, difficulty was one of the major factors in a game's replay value, in conjunction to its gameplay quality. Games like Contra had considerable difficulty and good gameplay, which cemented their place in gaming history. Perhaps in these contemporary times, what we have is Dark Souls, which is quite a brutal game on its own. After almost a year since its initial release in consoles, there is finally a PC version, which seemed fitting for it in the first place.
Since the game has already been released, [ ...More ]

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition [ Preview ]It often happens in the world of gaming that a game reaches the peak of its success in the PC community, and ports are made to offer a diet experience to console gamers who wish to play the game. Somehow, this has become a rule in the gaming world thanks to the success of RTS games that never quite turn out to be anything special on consoles, and while there are FPS titles that make most of their sales on consoles, there is no doubt the PC still offers the conclusive experience as far as most franchises are concerned. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition [ Editorial ]Fans of the Dark Souls game have been battling with petitions in order to get a PC version of the astounding game Dark Souls, which was previously only developed for consoles (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, not the Wii). The largest of these petitions was able to round up well over 100,000 signatures in favor of bringing Dark Souls to the PC. The publisher, NamcoBandai, loved the idea. They urged the same initial developer, FromSoftware, to develop a port to the PC, and they did.
FromSoftware ported Dark Souls to PC and repackaged it as "Dark Souls - Prepare to Die [ ...More ]

Yakuza: Dead Souls [ Review ]Yakuza: Dead Souls is a new addition to the world renowned Yakuza action adventure game series. However, this latest addition deviates from the regular concept of the game as, in Dead Souls, the antagonists revolve around the supernatural, specifically zombies.
In Dead Souls, known as ‘Of The End’ in the Japanese version, gamers can portray up to four characters, including characters from the previous games. Players must fight against a zombie outbreak that has spread towards the city of Kamurocho, and they must be able to battle an endless torrent of enemies and bosses in order to halt the condition from [ ...More ]

Dark Souls [ Review ]Demon's Souls was a game that will not soon be forgotten. It had tons of visuals, spot-on combat, and absolutely insane difficulty. The difficulty was so insane that it was almost universally deemed inaccessible to casual gamers. It seemed only touchable to those who have the most hardcore of skills when it comes to video games. However, the difficulty gave the game the purest experience a gamer could get. This was even more surprising coming from a game developed by the virtually unknown Japanese developer, FromSoftware, who had halted their King's Field series on the Playstation 2 to make Demon's [ ...More ]

GRAPHICS:
Straight up, this is probably the prettiest hand made pixel by pixel game out there, every sprite it's gorgeous and it's beautifully animated. The colors are bright, the ships are great, the backgrounds are as retro as it gets, and the whole mix is basically a blast to play and a real treat to the eyes. [ ...More ]

Dark Souls - What to ExpectI was an avid fan of the game Demon's Souls ever since it first hit the shelves in North America under the publisher Atlus. It won numerous awards and was a highly difficult Action RPG. We loved every bit of it. Now, there is a spiritual successor coming this October under the same developer, FromSoftware, called Dark Souls. It promises to be every bit as difficult, and every bit as fun.
The first thing to notice is the graphics update. Demon's Souls graphics were great, but Dark Souls graphics just blows its spiritual predecessor out of the water!

Dark Souls [ Screenshots ]Dark Souls is a game developed by Software. It is also pointed out that Dark Souls is not a sequel to Demon’s Soul.
Director of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that even if the two titles have resemblance, Dark Souls should be treated as a brand new game.
There might be similarities in concept and themes but the story itself gives Dark Soul its identity.
Dark Souls will be available for Xbox 360 and [ ...More ]

Dark Souls - Ignite [ Trailer ]We all remember the epic game Demon's Souls, with it's insane difficulty and sheer brilliance. We thought almost every aspect was perfected. From Software had made its greatest game yet, and was published under Atlas.
Now, we are going to have Dark Souls. The just-as-epic spiritual sequel, if not more epic. Now, it's being published by Namco Bandai. This is not a bad thing. Not at all. Everything is coming up perfectly with Dark Souls. It will not only be released for PS3, but also the Xbox 360. It [ ...More ]

Great defensive abilities and being able to equip weapons like Long Sword, Mail Breaker, Kite Shield and other good armors set make Knight an ideal choice. However, lower Luck means lesser loot.

Three years ago (or two for XBox 360 and PS3 owners) the original Lost Planet title was released by Capcom which introduced us to the world of EDN III. The same environment returns, but as time has progressed, so has the likelihood of extinction for the human race in Lost Planet 2.

Demons Souls
Demon's Souls is one of the most difficult videogames you will play this year, but if you're a fan of any of the genre's the game touches on then you'll probably consider it one of the best too.
From the very beginning you are drawn into the game by the dark and seedy environment that your battles take place within - and though dark, they look and feel alive and you can't help but become engrossed in the game and feel as if you are the lead character. Demon's Souls is rare in the sense that there is very little narrative [ ...More ]
