Each and every year, the biggest month in gaming is November. The biggest games release in November, and the most games typically release in November. This year, November is even bigger than ever before, with the eighth generation of home video game consoles set to take off with Wii U.

Top 10 Games of PAX 2012
PAX is a gamer's convention. Every year, at their multiple locations around the world, gamers gather at PAX to play the hottest games before they have a chance to release. Other conventions like E3, Gamescom, and Tokyo Game Show, favor journalists over gamers. PAX allows gamers to really have a chance to play these games.
However, just because PAX favors game-playing in general, that doesn't mean that there isn't big new game announcements and the like that comes from the show. Indeed, PAX is one of the "big four" gaming conventions that is held each year, and this year certainly did [...More

10. Toki Tori 2 (Wii U)
Wii's WiiWare service didn't see a lot of successful games. However, one of the games that managed to become a favorite was the quirky puzzle game Toki Tori. Nintendo has used Toki Tori 2 to hype the Wii U's eShop service extensively, and fans don't have to wait long to finally play the sequel, as Toki Tori 2 will be available to download on April 4th.
Five TV Shows That Would Make Great Games
In light of the recently released and horribly disappointing The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, I was thinking about TV shows that could make really fun, or at least interesting, video games if they were pulled off with some dignity. And as I tend to do, I decide to throw together a list of those potential show-to-game adaptations, with my hopes for what each one could be penciled in for those interested.
Honorable Mention 1. Dexter (Showtime)
To be fair, a Dexter video game already exists on iOS devices and it has been relatively successful, so that's why I'm not including it on [...More

GDC is no E3, but the event is still used to showcase the biggest upcoming games the industry has to offer, and occasionally new games are even announced. This year's GDC was focused on next-generation and indie games, plus there were a couple big reveals -- one courtesy of Electronic Arts and DICE, and the other from one of gaming's greatest all-time developers, the father of Metal Gear, Hideo Kojima.
Many excellent games were showcased at GDC 2013, such as exciting indie titles like N++, Space Qube, and more. New games like Total War: Arena were announced, and the new game [...More

On February 14th, 2013, Nintendo hosted yet another Nintendo Direct, this time focusing on Nintendo 3DS. While some may think it unwise of Nintendo not to push the Wii U just days before PS4 is rumored to be revealed, the Wii U wasn't completely ignored in the wave of Nintendo news that hit today.
New Eeveelution for Pokemon X and Y
Eevee is one of the most popular Pokemon in franchise history, and Nintendo has always been there to craft a new evolution for it, until it will eventually be represented by every Pokemon elemental type. Eevee's new evolution in Pokemon X [...More

DmC: Devil May Cry (January 15th)
The Devil May Cry reboot from Ninja Theory would've had a spot on this list, but I started writing it late. [...More
Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2012) [ Review ]
A lot of fans would agree that the first Most Wanted game was perhaps the best Need For Speed game to have ever been made as it had less gimmicks and more straight-up racing with realistic cars and nice racing physics. Upon Criterion's development of this reboot, they had the reboot of Hot Pursuit to go by, giving fans the confidence that this new game will be up to snuff with their tastes, and indeed it is.
In the new Most Wanted, you race in the city of Fairhaven, where illegal street racers vie for automotive supremacy with a wide selection [...More
Top 15 Most Important Games of All Time
I've been gaming all my life. Since I can remember, video gaming has been a huge part of my daily routine. And throughout the years, I've had the opportunity to play the most innovative and important games in history. Originally, this was a Top 10 list, but I had to lengthen it to 15 because there are just so many fantastic titles that have had such a major impact on the industry that they couldn't be left out.
Is this list necessarily complete? No, not necessarily. I'm sure I will get e-mails pointing out I forgot this game or that game, [...More

Wii U is right around the corner.† Nintendo and Sony have both already released their eighth generation handhelds in the form of 3DS and Vita respectively. Sony and Microsoft are expected to debut their eighth generation home consoles at next year's E3 event. The seventh generation has been abnormally long, lasting a few years longer than the normal five year life cycle of video game systems. But it's finally starting to slow down and come to a close, and now it's time to look back at all of the greatest games this generation has given us across all the seventh [...More
Top 15 Co-Op Games
Co-op has gone hand-in-hand with gaming since the industry's early days. It has been reveled as a great way to get together with friends and enjoy an adventure together. Co-op games have marked extreme bonding experiences with my friends and family, as we've tackled challenges together and overcome the most dangerous of obstacles. Co-op gaming represents one of my favorite aspects of gaming, which is getting together with people and playing video games.
Nowadays, there are games that don't include any form of offline co-op in favor of online-only modes, which is a scary and stupid trend. There are games that [...More

Tokyo Game Show 2012: What to expect (Monster Hunter 4!)
The Tokyo Game Show is the Japanese equivalent of E3 in the United States, or Gamescom in Europe. It is a hugely important show, and it is traditionally the last of the major gaming shows of the year. Obviously, Tokyo Game Show focuses on the Japanese market, but that's not to say that the news coming from the show doesn't effect the rest of the world. There are often major announcements at the show, such as the reveal of the Wii remote controller and its motion control functionality, and new details about confirmed globally-released games obviously pertain to overseas gamers [...More
Tokyo Game Show 2012: Sony (Soul Sacrifice and Muramasa!)
Tokyo Game Show 2012 kicked off with Sony's press conference. Sony is the only one of the "big three" console manufacturers that decided to show up to Tokyo Game Show, meaning that they had another opportunity to really hit one out of the park and try to reclaim dominance in the console and handheld markets. Did Sony do a good job at TGS like they did at Gamescom, or did they ultimately flop when they had a perfect opportunity to strike?
Vita, Vita, Vita
Criticized for not focusing enough on Vita at E3, Sony has made it a point to showcase their [...More

The game comes out on the PC and MAC on the 20th of September.
Following the success of their sleeper hit - Torchlight, Runic sets out to take the next game in the installment to the next level. Torchlight II has been made to support multiplayer game modes and is an anchor point to Runic's upcoming Torchlight MMORPG (which in itself is a wish come true).

StarCraft II - Changes in 2012 Season 4 [ News ]
The eighth ladder season, third of this year, has now been locked and will end on September 11. Along with the new season comes big changes for Season 9 (2012 Season 4). With the Heart of the Swarm Beta becoming a big focus in the SC2 scene, Blizzard is bringing in new stuff to keep Wings of Liberty interesting.
As always, the matchmaking rating (MMR) still changes with games played during the lock, so you can then get promoted if you have enough after the placement match at the beginning of the next season. This particular season was supposed to end [...More
A Round-Up of this Year's Annual Sports Video Games [ Editorial ]
Iím no fan of yearly franchises Ė to me, 12 months between releases is barely enough time to both rework game mechanics effectively and focus on complaints and wishes from fans. This often results in buggy releases and lacking new features. But, in all honesty, there are a lot of people who would be disappointed if their sports series werenít updated yearly, so I tend to give these a pass (get it, a pass?... right). Still, itís important to have a look at whatís new, so letís go down the list very briefly:
Madden NFL13 Ė On the sight of things, [...More
PAX 2012: Complete Recap (Dead Island: Riptide and Lightning Returns!)
Just before the fall gaming rush, there are multiple gaming conventions that help build the hype. First, there is the biggest gaming event of the year, E3, which is the home for the biggest announcements and surprises. Gamescom follows after, Europe's answer to E3, and it is often used to showcase games that the presenters didn't have time for at E3. For example, Sony used this year's Gamescom to show off plenty about the PS Vita, and Activision used it to showcase the major changes coming to Black Ops II's multiplayer. Then there is PAX, a gamer's convention that is [...More

Letís take a look at some of the most promising releases in between now and the end of December.
Borderlands 2 Ė September 18th (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
The first sequel on our list, and the first that seems to be a massive improvement to the first one. Lots of additions in terms of the lootable guns and equipment, expanded skilltrees and greater [...More
Gamescom 2012: Ubisoft (Ghost Recon Online and Might & Magic!)
Sony really impressed me with their Gamescom press conference. The focus on brand new games and hyping already announced titles helped their conference stand out from all the others. Now Ubisoft closes out Gamescom on the second day of Europe's biggest gaming show with a conference of their own, promising to focus on free-to-play video games.
Ubisoft is hugely pushing free-to-play gaming, and they believe that it is the future of the gaming industry. Apparently, free-to-play gaming will become a $24.7 billion dollar market by the year 2014.
To promote their free-to-play lineup, Ubisoft announced that their free-to-play game The Settlers Online [...More
