The Amazing Spider-Man [ Review ]
The movie reboot of Spiderman goes back to the roots of the character and the canon, which is perhaps a relief for some who may have needed therapy for the existence of Spiderman 2 and 3. As with most superhero movie releases, there has to be a game to accompany them. This one is no exception, but this one is actually kind of decent.
You once again play as Peter Parker. Unless you play Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, you may not really play as Spiderman as much, but this may change that. It's the usual third person action that ties [...More
The Amazing Spider-Man (iOS) [ Review ]
Gameloft is now known for releasing games for the iOS that seem to be a better fit for bigger platforms like consoles or the PC. They develop both original titles and adaptations from various material like comics and movies. In this particular case, it's a bit of both with The Amazing Spider-Man, yet another game based on the web-slinging Marvel superhero.
As is fitting for a Spiderman game, you get to swing around in an open world, which feels a lot like Prototype. Aside from the missions, you also have to protect the neighborhood by catching the random bad guys that [...More
The Amazing Spider-Man [ Preview ]
Spider-Man has a long, storied history in gaming. But those games are a story for another day. For now, let's focus on The Amazing Spider-Man on the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available in just a week on June 26th, developed by Beenox Interactive and published, of course, by Activision.
Right off the bat, the demo leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Most game demos on the 3DS allow 30 plays. Not that you'll ever use the 30 plays, but it's the thought that counts. Of course, when Activision decides to put a demo on the eShop, they only [...More
Spiderman: Edge of time [ DS REVIEW ]
Oh what's that? You thought that the DS was dead? Think again pal, we have a bunch of new reviews for this old handheld, some good, some bad, some terrible! But reviews anyway! JUMP IN!
Funny thing, Spiderman games are usually good games, since the old Spiderman Vs Venom for Sega Genesis, going through Spiderman for the PSX and all of the PS2 ones they were pretty much above average every time. I remember that my first review here on Cheatmasters was Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions for the Nintendo DS, and every single Spidey game for the DS was pretty damn good. [...More
Spider-Man: Edge of Time [ Review ]
SPOOK'S PROS: Satisfying combat and a wonderful presentation
SPOOK'S CONS: Keys, keys, and more keys. Oh, and air ducts. A **** ton of air ducts. There's a puddle outside my house with more depth.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions was Activision's attempt at a generally good Spider-Man game. Activision entrusted developers Beenox with crafting a Spider-Man game that wasn't based on a movie or a cartoon, but one based on an original game concept. Following the surprise critical and financial success of Shattered Dimensions, Activision was quick to put Beenox to work on a sequel...but has Activision's "annual release" strategy doomed yet another franchise? [...More

Spider-Man: Edge of Time - Teaser [ Trailer ]
The web swinging Spidey is now back on Spider-Man: Edge of Time. This is the second installment of the game Spider-Man. For the first time Marvel has granted a developer exclusive rights to make Spider-Man games, so Beenox should be happy about this.

Spiderman Shattered Dimensions [ REVIEW ]
As promised, this is the review for the Nintendo DS version of Spiderman Shattered Dimensions. I actually gave you a pretty good roundup about why that title, and a little explanation about each dimension. After playing it there are some changes in the Nintendo DS version alone I need to alert you to. The most important being: There is NO Ultimate universe! Yeah, apparently and according to the story in the game, the powers goes from one spidey to another via...mystic powers of an ancient artifact. The special abilities of the Ultimate spidey (wearing the Symbiotic suite) cannot be transferred [...More
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Trailer
That's correct, I'm sure there's no surprise here, I mean all spidey games eventually come to the pampered portable of the Big N but here's the thing, unlike other multi platform games Shattered Dimensions for the DS it's a whole new game made EXCLUSIVELY for the DS.
In case you're not a huge comic fan but do like the friendly spidey, I'll let you know about this game a little more. It will cover 4 different dimensions (doh!) of the spiderman universe so let's sum them up: -Spiderman Noir (A Sin-City like spidey dirty, violent, more mature)-Ultimate Spiderman, Amazing Spiderman [...More
