Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland [ REVIEW ]

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, a new Japanese-style RPG put out exclusively for the PS3, is certainly a unique game amidst the flood of forthcoming releases this Fall. It seems that most gamers either love or love to hate JRPGs these days, and while Atelier Rorona is an interesting title it isn't likely to change anyone's mind about the genre either. It's stock full of standard Japanese character archetypes and goofy humor, but it's these very same things that can potentially give Atelier Rorona much of its charm. In the game the player takes on the role of Rororina Frixell [...More ]

The Swapper [Review]

There are plenty of puzzle platformers these days that introduce new mechanics for you to find your way from the start to the end of the level. However, it's not often that you see such games with such refined design that makes you feel as if it's the first game of its kind that you've ever played due to the uniqueness of the gameplay mechanics and the level of quality in its aesthetics. The Swapper is such a game that really digs deep into your senses and your mind. The Swapper by Facepalm Games is a puzzle platformer that is like [...More ]

Starcraft II - Terran Strategy: The Nuke Rush [Guide]

Few things in StarCraft II can ever match the fury of a tactical nuclear strike, sent down from the heavens by a carefully positioned Ghost. It's like cleaning up a mess with magic, with enemy units disappearing all at once and buildings sustaining massive damage that would have taken over a minute to deal. It's usually reserved for the mid to late game as a defensive tactic or as an equalizer, but there is also a way to bring it in the early game to surprise the opponent. Overview Terran players don't need any logical reason for doing a nuke rush. [...More ]

Chernobyl Commando [Review]

Most of the games churned out by the indie game development scene are pretty good, some of which even inspires awe and wonderment. However, there are some not-so-good ones that sneak past whatever filter there is and get released. Some are really bad, while most are mediocre at best. Chernobyl Commando is one of those titles, unfortunately enough. While it doesn't seem so bad at first glance, you then play it and see the cracks within. Chernobyl Commando is a game about Captain Yuri Ryakov, who was sent to Chernobyl to intercept terrorists who are attacking the power plant. [...More ]

Resident Evil: Revelations (HD) [Review]

Here is yet another Resident Evil game. Before the collective moan and groan, give this game a try before handing it a verdict, unlike what most did with the much-condemned but alright Resident Evil 6. It's a multiplatform re-release of the Resident Evil game for the 3DS from early last year. That's yet another HD remake by Capcom, so this may not get a vote of confidence from gamers right away. But at least it's still about the zombies. Resident Evil: Revelations is set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5, just after the establishment of the Bioterrorism Security [...More ]

Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves [Review]

I do not know what Denpa specifically means, nor do I really need a specific definition. For me, the term is perfect for the pudgy and quirky little characters found in the title, and the name does them justice, just like a Wookie, or an Oompa Loompa. Don’t think of the Denpa Men as pushovers, however, as they can certainly pack a punch as they battle an army of different monsters in this sequel to Denpa Man: They Came by Wave. Denpa Man 2: Beyond the Waves tells the story of your main Denpa whose family has been kidnapped by Ooks. [...More ]

Battle Nations Walkthrough #2 [Guide]

War is always an ugly thing, but not in Battle Nations.
