Tokyo Game Show 2012: Day Four Recap (Tales of Xillia!)

Tokyo Game Show 2012 is starting to come to a close, and on the fourth day of events, we didn't get as much new information or new game announcements, but there was still a lot to be excited for, especially for RPG fans. In this article, I will offer the latest about Dragon Ball Z for Kinect, go over the new information about Tales of Xillia, and cover a brand new PlayStation Vita augmented reality game that has been called the "sleeper hit" of TGS 2012. You'll get to decide that one for yourself. In the meantime, don't hesitate to check [...More ]

Spirit Walkers: Curse of the Cypress Witch (iOS) [ Review ]

Some would say that once you've played a hidden object game, then you've played them all. This may not be so with this particular one, entitled Spirit Walkers: Curse of the Cypress Witch. That name is quite a mouthful, and the gameplay experience is also a handful. From Orchid Games, the makers of Royal Trouble and Heartwild Solitaire, comes a game that tries to bring new color and dimension to hidden object games, something that seems either trivial or impossible. But if it increases the appeal of casual gaming, then it should be a good thing. The theme of Spirit Walkers [...More ]

Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix (iOS) [ Review ]

There are certain genres that tend to not do so well in some platforms, while they do very well in others. Casual games are a very good example of this. While PC gamers wouldn't really bother as much unless they're really bored, mobile gamers get to have fun with them on the road. Perhaps this is the same as well with this game released by Cateia Games and G5 Entertainment. Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix had been released for the PC and Mac for quite a while now, then Cateia Games and G5 Entertainment then decided to release it [...More ]

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

At least one hundred years after the events of Phantom Hourglass, and Link is about to receive his license, from Princess Zelda herself, to become an official engineer for the royal railroads. Just in time to spoil his graduation from the engineering apprenticeship, Link learns that all is not well in Hyrule (go figure). The Spirit Tracks, which keeps an evil force sealed away, are disappearing, and a strange man, Chancellor Cole, is attempting to release the dangerous evil. Cole discombobulated the Tower of Spirits, the hub of the Spirit Tracks, summoned an evil looking train, and, to top it [...More ]

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

Company of Heroes has established itself as the top video game franchise when it comes to real-time World War strategy. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is the latest standalone expansion which aims to improve the overall experience of the game and add some brand new game modes, too. Unfortunately though, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor will ultimately dissapoint most fans of the original game and the previous expansion, Opposing Fronts, as the extra stuff this expansion adds to your game is, we are afraid to say, not worth having. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor brings you three new campaigns, [...More ]

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World Review

Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube was without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time. To a lot of people it wasn't really that special, maybe it was because it was my first RPG that I enjoyed it so much. Nevertheless, it was a good game that was a savior to the RPG starved library of the GameCube. Then Namco announced a sequel and we (I) squealed and couldn't wait to play it. Was it worth the wait? Well... not as much as you'd hope. First off, let me begin by saying DO NOT buy this until you [...More ]

Five ways Microsoft can convince me to buy the Next Xbox

On May 21st at 9AM Pacific, Microsoft plans on revealing the next-generation Xbox console to replace the Xbox 360 as Microsoft's flagship console. Xbox 720, Xbox Fusion, Xbox Infinity, or whatever it winds up being called, will be Microsoft's first steps into the eighth generation. I already have a Wii U, and I plan on buying a PS4, but have my reservations about picking up the next Xbox due to blunders this generation such as the Red Rings of Death. But I can be won over. And here's how. The list is numbered five to one, but there's no real particular [...More ]
