This guide is for first-time chao carers!
email questions go here
I do NOT want a question that is too informal e.g:
"hay dud i wanna giv u a qweston 4 ur walkthru"
and not too formal e.g:
"Dear sir or madam:
I am writing to you about your guide "Sonic adventure DX chao guide" that i wish to post a question for the "Intro"
section of your guide."

Q1:What is a chao?
A1:A chao is a creature that exists in the sonic universe, they are much like us because they need food,care and
attention.
Lets get this over with

|Garden locations|

Station square
The very first garden you can goto is the Station square garden,
to get there go into the left elevator in the hotel
Mystic ruins
This garden is accessable after you rescue Tails from Emerald Coast, to get there, goto mystic ruins and near Tails's
workshop there is a cave, go in there and ride the mine cart.
Egg Carrier
This garden is only accessable when you reach the egg carrier
You will have Buttons on the floor, on those buttons say them in this order
E.G.G.M.A.N
then step onto the teleporter in the next room!

In each garden you have 2 Normal eggs to raise
there are secret eggs too, these are the locations
1. in an egg carrier cell (black) (must open the cell)
2. in the station square shop (must get rock from where sonic fought chaos 0)
3. inside the waterfall in mystic ruins (must push the block beside the platforms that you use to get back up out of the
waterfall area)

|Raising chao|

Raising chao is a bit like raising a child, only that they evolve and reincarnate we dont do that stuff
i would suggest getting plenty of rings for this since the black market (no its NOT illegal in SA1DX for some reason
:p)
sells rare eggs like blue eggs and shiny white eggs
ANIMALS
animals are what give Chao their skills like running fast,evolvtion paths and apperance. to give a chao a small animal
just pick one up and walk up to your chao and it will absorb the animal's skills and you cannot use it again so collect
lots of animals (but if you just put an animal down right by your chao it will absorb its skills and you can use it
again you can use it again >=] )
Mating
in Sonic Adventure DX chao don't have you know what to have a baby, nor do chao get pregnant, they have flowers bloom
around them, if another chao is close to mating put them close to eachother and they will have a kiss and jump out the
way for an egg to appear in the patch of flowers the chao sat in.
BEWARE: mating shortens the chao's life!
but it helps if you want to make a chaos chao!
(eating heartfruit forces mating)
FRUITS
In SA1DX chao can eat lots more fruit, but only 1 type is free,
the rest are roughly 200 or 300 rings in the black market
giving a chao its favorite fruit will make it happy (must transport to SA2B to see what its favorite fruit is)
if a chao tastes a fruit and throws it away it means it doesn't like the fruit the fruits all have unknown effects
(except for the heartfruit which forces mating and hero and dark fruit which makes a hero chao or a dark chao)
CARE
Pet your chao often, if it starts actinng like its saying "yay" in your hands that means it likes that character and
will have a 100% reincarnation but if it starts trying to break free it hates that character and if hit more times it
will commit suicide and die early with a 0% reincarnation rate (you need to hit your chao, by estimate, 7 times in a row
for them to die early)
DON'T HIT YOUR CHAO!
if you accidently press B and hit the chao. IMMEDIATLY PET THE CHAO AND FEED IT so it forgets and does not wimper or
cry which lowers the reincarnation rate 5% (if it cories or wimpers)
TWO TONED CHAO
These are very rare, i only got 2, a brown one and a purple one
these are pure luck,it happens in mating,
two toned chao look like a coloured chao but only darker or lighter (sometimes you get shiny twotones, i never got
them!)
EMOTIONS
swirl:upset/death
ball/halo/spiked ball/flame:normal
question mark:thinking
exclamation mark:found something/responding to whistle
Heart:happy

You can get chao's like resemble characters like sonic that are offical not like the "link chao"
Sonic chao:
just get a neutral pure speed (speed on both evoltions)
Tails chao:
find it in phantasy star online
Knuckles chao:
Event or AR
Amy chao:
Event or AR

|Death/Rebirth|

As everything does, chao die
when it reaches age 5 (to check age you must transport to SA2B)
your chao will sit down and get a swirl, and a cacoon will appear and here are your results
PINK CACOON:
YOUR IN LUCK! the dying chao will return to being an egg with only 10% of its original stats and 1 step closer to being
able to be a chaos chao!
GREY CACOON:
This means your a bad chao carer >=(
that chao will NEVER EVER come back
he will sadly disappeaer forever <=(
i wonder what happens if all the chao die?
