Well what you do is when start a season win a few games then if you want to skip a few, save where you're at then simmilate the games that you do not care for and then if you win save again or you can gamble on whether you the next game, but if I were you I would save after every game you win or every other game depending on how good your record is.

Heres a cheat I found when I was playing nba 2k7. you can stop dribbling by tapping L2 continually. (p.s its better if you do it in street mode cause then you wont get a travel)
