If you are having trouble with a song on hard, go to the main menu. Type in this code:

This is the Hyperspeed cheat. Then play that song on expert 2-5 times. Then enter the cheat again and play it on hard. It will seem much easier.
Also works for easy and medium (or expert but you just do hyperspeed).

At the main menu press red (4), yellow, blue (2), yellow, blue, yellow, blue (5).
A sound will confirm you did it correctly. Start a new career and it will say your total song playing time for that career. This code can be de-activated.

Ok go to practice mode. pick any song. click on the first available section of the song and only play it. you pick any difficulty. you dont have to hit all the notes but at the end of the section unplug your guitar just before the percentige screen comes up. plug it back in if the screen keeps rolling then thats good. if you pulled out the plug out to early you can pull it out again. now thats done go to career and go to any difficulty and click on any song available. it will look just like practice mode. when the song starts you will be playing the intro to the song you were playing in practice mode. hit all the notes and the game will play the rest! dont press any buttons or strum or it wont work. at the end of the song (only if you hit all the notes) you will get 100% on that song. you can repeat without going back to practice mode. just play your next song on the list. and another thing this works on the song Jordan so you can tell your friends that you got 100% on the hardest song on the game!

This isn't much of a hint unless you're having EXTREME difficulties on a song and the only thing that can save you is Star Power.
Basically, activate Star Power when the hard part comes up, or when lots of notes come. You'll be going from glowing red to green in no time!
Also memorize where certain points in the song. Besides notes, long notes, cords, Hammer-ons and Pull-offs, you also need to memorize where you gain Star Power. DO NOT ACTIVATE STAR POWER IN THESE POINTS OF THE SONG! You cannot gain Star Power if it's already activated. Same story if you activate Star Power while you're gaining it. I tested, and it doesn't work. Activating it at the end of the series, and on a long note, however, is okay, but you ahould be hitting the wammy instead of tilting the guitar.
Another thing: Unless a long note is glowing, has a star at the begginning AND it is long enough for you, DO NOT USE THE WAMMY! Waist of time, and takes your hand away from the strum bar if you need it in a few seconds. The best way to position the wanny is to position it just below the strum bar, BUT NOT TOO CLOSE, or you'll accidentally strum, and loose both the rest of the note, and the Star Power.

Sorry for saying it was bogus. I guess my version is slightly different so I will try the PAL versions to see if they work.

The others made my guitar, score/rock meter, and the thingy were you see all of the frets, dissapear so I couldn't see what I had to hit at all or when the song began.

You need to have Grim Ripper unlocked and selected.
Then select another character.
The character MUST have their other outfit unlocked.
They will have the Scythe unless you change the guitar.
Note: Since Clive Winston and Xavier Stone do not have unlockable outfits so this does not work for them.

To play in NTSC mode in the PS2, hold the LEFT directional button, that should activate it.
NOTE: don't let go of the left direct. button or it will disable, use a controler with a turbo for easier manuevering.

The buttons will change too, here they are:
ORANGE= SQUARE
YELLOW= TRIANGLE
RED= CIRCLE
GREEN= R2
BLUE= X

if you want to play in NTSC mode, the confermation button will be R2 and the cancel button will become CIRCLE.....remember it.

A glitch I found is very helpful. You don't need to hold the strumming! Play the guitar on gh2 and play a song. Then, on a chord you just flip the strum bar it's that easy!

When you are in the song called hanger 18 on expert, for the first 75 notes you can strum up and down to save your arm from tiring out. TRUST ME! IT WORKS! .::.

K... first go to practice choose any difficulty and any song. play an easy
section on the song and as soon as that is done pull out the guitar and plug it back in and hit resume do this two more times make sure you do it fast. k once that is done pause the game and hit quit and the exit to the main menu go to career any level any difficulty and the same song you did during practice. when the song starts their will be no sound until the section you chose comes up and you play it. if you don't mess up the guitar will play through the rest of the song. for visual aid go to youtube .com and type in guitar hero glitch

When you get to the real long solo's that tire you strum finger alls you have to do is strum the first note and play the rest of that solo without struming and practice that alot... Ive perfected every song on every level except free bird and misirlou on expert... so I know this cheat will help... the cheat about the green button trick dot try hat because what happenswhen you get to a chord (2 or more frets at once) if you press any button other than the given frets in chords the note gets beeped means you muissed that note.

Ok get the guitar witch has the flame paint job andput the flame paint job on. go to medium and on level 7 do the 3 song and the drums have a flame paintjob:).
