You have to get the best time out all of the characters then if it says new ghost unlocked it should be velo or n.tropy then do that level again and pick challenge n.tropy and beat him beat all of his ghost then you unlock him

You can't unlock the bosses except for Velo. You will get Velo after getting the scepters(100%) on both teams, bandicoot and cortex.

No you have to beat all his ghosts to unlock him.
In race time trial
Also you have to unlock hyperspace highway.... and defeat him on that stage too
How Fortunate for you! It does! however if you want the real velo you have to get 100% on team cortex, and same with team bandicoot. So if you want the mini version then beat his time trials. -Answer by:ncd1223
You mean you get the fat Velo for beating all Velo ghosts?
I was going to ask the same question.
I have completed 100% with both team Cortex and Team Bandicoot but the Velo I have unlocked is pretty small already, I don't see how there can be a mini-er version. So, what does beating Velo in the time trials actually get you?

Try to get all the letters on the first lap. Then its easier when you can only focus on winning the race.
