You have to make sure you summon an aeon each time mana beam is going to be used and if your aeons arent strong enough they will die but you will still save the characters. Keep doing this and use wakka or magic to destroy the detonator when it comes back.
KK! I will help you you keep on using wakka, and lulu's magic and the thing will eventually go away now once it's gone this will leace the machine vunrable choose one of the aeons that can heal it self by casting its own element on itself this would be Ifrit Ixion Shiva and when the thing reapppears simple use Wakka to destroy it again then use another aeon like Ixion !(with info like this from a kid whos beaten the game 12 times you cant lose)! -Answer by:FFXmaster
Use Lulu to use her magic then use her overdrive which keeps using a certain magic.(You can choose which magic) or you can keep destroying the mini thing if you die by the mana beam it is your fault for being undertrained.
Make sure your aeons all have max overdrive then use wakka 2 destroy the floating thing once you used up all your overdrives u've probaly won
Instead of letting yourself get torn up by the mana beam, you could always leave the magic negation device where it stands so it can't use it!
This is what I did and I defeated it pretty easy, it was a walk without mana beam in my face haha!
You'll only be losing out on Lulu's Thund(er)(ara) attacks and Yuna's healing magic, nothing hi potions and electro and lightning marbles can't fix(courtesy of Rikku if you stole any at Thunder Plains)

What I did was I didnt destroy the anti magic thing and used araon tidus and kamariah and kept using cheer a move by tidus and it raised my attacked and defense and the machine would only use gattling gun and it took a little of my health at once
Use rikku and use...use command then use grenades to destroy the magic jammer then switch rikku to yuna then use your aeons to deal damage until there k.o.ed. then let the magic jammer to come back. then it will use gattling gun then you use if you get hurt hi.potion/if k.o pheonix down. it took me 35.00 minutes to defeat it. p.s. hi.potion.99/pheonix down.99 patrick.
Just levelup all your character and rest it if your characters are are weak on the agencies
When I did this I just used my aeons I had their overdrive charged and killed it pretty easily after using wakka to take out the little ball thing andffcmaster for completing it 12 times you don't really know much with the ball thing there you cant use magic so lulu is no help taking the ball out also at this point you dont have shiva because you dont get her until your first fight with seymour
Ok you know the battle arena yea umm put use the celestial merror on it you first get it as a cloudy merror and then go the macalania woods and on the way you need to help a lost family and then when you have the family together the kid runs off you go to the road where you go to shivas temple and youll find him then you need to go and he will show you how to turn it into the celestial merror then at the calm land open the chest at the battle arena and make sure you have anima and then go fight the girl at the reqiem temple if you dont knoe where that is then you need to tell me and ill tell you then fight all of your aeons then shell give you the second peice to open the barrior then you use the peice you got from the battle arena then it will open the door you have the mag sisters any other questins just ask me ill answer -Answer by:FFXmaster

Nimrook is the best golie just play in till they dont hire him,nav guado is the best passer same thing wait till he is of his original team when u r on the air ship brither or nedus have the best kick and they r not on a team when u find them

Try brother who drives the airship his a great player. left blocker=zalits.the man sitting in the wall of the luca sphere theater.

How do you get past the temple at zanarkand please help?

Hey I know you just have to walk up to the big screen and it gives you directions to step on things and they light up and it tells you which ones to step on and if your there you should get past the destruction sphere which once your done w/ all things in the big room you go back to the small room and it will have another puzzle solve it and it will give you the spere then you simply put it in the spheres place on 1 if the sphere slots next to the big screenand insert it on the 1 that is NOT the kilika shere

Yea just go and buy mana distillar or ability ditillar from almost any shop then use it on an enemy and when the battle is over you will have both!

If you opened monster arena and unlocked kottos.Thats all.If you can defeat him hit him on time extract mana or extract ability.he always dropps 40 healing spring and some times 2 dark matters.If you hit him with extract mana the he will drop 40 spheres.you can any sphere by hitting like extract power and extract speed.
Use rikku to steal from the guards then kill them both, seymour should now be on his own, keep attacking and healing until he summons anima, then summon your aeons at overdrive to destroy anima. After that he has 6000 health again and uses magic in the same order, so have yuna cast all the nul- spells in the same order before seymour uses them and he shouldn't be able to damage you, keep hacking away and eventually you will defeat him :)
His attacks are always the same fire, ice, thunder, water. so have yuna cast the relevent null spell before hand and you'll have no trouble. -Answer by:hunterrich

First you have to go and jump off the end of the bridge thing and swim towards the green marker. Defeat the guy you first battled at the beggining and go through the underwater doors.

The only way that I know of is to somehow Lancet Mighty Guard from an enemy who knows it (if there is one before Mt. Gagazet, which is really far after Macalania) or have freakishly high HP or magic defence-sorry, brudda=:(

Its a very easy with this tip.after leaving calm lands you will go to mt gagazet and a cut scene will be there .After that again go to calm lands and there is a women standing there(not the man riding ).she standing just near the entrance.but the edge of the cliff.talk to her and choose a option ride a chocobo.the go to the opening of macalania woods.Dont go inside.with the chocobo touch the yellow flower in the end of the cliff.it will lead you a new place.and go inside.there is reneim temple.don't go inside the temple.at the left side ther is champion chocobo.intract with it.then the right side chocobo.now choose ride it.then at the race try hard and open three cheats.first race just win dont open anything.you will get cloudy mirror,second time poen three and it will give you 30 wings to discovory.thats all you got it.now charge rikkus ovedrive and go to seymor.and mix the wings to discovory in the overdrive.it makes the trio of 9999.Now your every move will get the effect of 9999. if you use a potion you will get 9999.if you hit him it will do 9999.lulu's fury will do every time 9999.just toss him to fire gem and you got overkill.use it for the upcoming fights.but dont waste.its a very rare item.

It's no rumor, It's only in the PAL/INT version so the American version, you can't fight Dark Aeons.
You fight them further in the game

First level up a bit and then use wakka to destroy that thing that floats next to it and the get lulu to use thundara or summon an aeon so when it uses mana beam you can carry on without losing lots of characters hope I helped -Answer by:jake94

The easiest way to do it is have wakka I full overdrive with his attack reels hopefully most of them hit the the little floating machine that prevents magic and aeons if not just whack away at it with wakka and rikku have her use her items and when the neggater is dead summon with yuna and hopefully your smart enough to already have the aeons overdrives up and then unleash them on the gattling gun pretty easy
