Try going to the tin tower first, and talk to the guy at the very back of the building. he will give you the rainbow wing, if a staircase does not appear then, you probably screwed your game up.

You have to have all 3 legendary dogs in your party, then talk to the person in between to 2 pokemon statues, if the stairs still don't appear, then sorry, your game is dead...

Make sure that when your trying to look for the generator piece that you are using your itemfinder.

Another way to find it is to surf in the middle of the gym (where the squared water is), surf in it and keep clicking A, eventually you'll find it (it only took me a few seconds to find it this way).

Go to the center water area the square water in the middle dont surf just look at the edge and (deposit a poke mon with surf to avoid the surf confimation) I find my generator in the upper part -Answer by:pokemon00addict

(e.g) you cant trade a pokemon (geodude) that knows rock climb... but you can trade a pokemon (geodude) that knows rock smash, dig, tackel, and swift... no new moves and no new pokemon can go from ruby to fire red... but old pokemon can go to fire red to ruby... your welcome
