You have to get the upgrade in a room. I dont remember the exact name of it but it has a laser in the room. WARNING dont touch it..
In life or death, get the key-card from the dead guy in the elevator. use it in the first basement like place(not the one in the hallway), and you will get a message saying that your alien grenades have been upgraded. ( I think you have to scan the paper, though.)
I don't think you can get a "zoom" JB in multiplayer!,its not even a flying JB in multiplayer!

If your talking about theta, you need to mutate and melee him. Melee restores mutagen and if you throw parasites, it gives you health.

When you encounrter the Gray in his shield, throwing black op bubbles all over the place. How do you take out his shield? As before I assume there's a generator for it somehwere that I have to knock out, but can't find it.

LOL,use mutant to destroy he's shield,open fire!,shoot parasites,best way to destroy the shield,easiest also!
On the sheild use the cognation and then parasites, then a grenade then 20 bullets on the smp

When the shotgun is in your hands press R2 and it will shoot 2 bullets and kill the mutant, if your out of ammo on the shotgun use the pistol twice in the head

You wait till he says go to victor 5 then you escort victor 5 through the rooms with mutants awake then you get in the de-contamination chamber and then you go back to dr.cray but victor 5 dies by the illuminati and you need to fight them and then go to dr.cray then get in the chamber in his lab and he dies then you fight off the illuminati again

Your search for Dr. Cray will lead you into the thick of things. There are a
lot of things to be gathered in this area and the Black Ops soldiers won't make
it any easier for you to make it through this level.
As per the norm, when you exit the elevator, get ready for a firefight.
Once you have cleared the corridor of hostiles, go to the table to scan the
document for "Illuminati Dollar Bill". (Data bank #1)
Head over to the second, malfunctioning elevator and get the lockbox key off
the dead soldier. Go back left and go to the lockbox and unlock it for some
goodies.
Checkpoint #1: Stairwell
Go down the stairwell into the generator room. Be advised that there are a
lot of Black Op soldiers shooting at you from different levels. You need to
make your way to the bottom of the generator pit.
At the bottom, clear out the Black Ops soldiers and look for the hand
analyzer, on the generator, that needs to be scanned. Scan for "Capacity
Overload Orders". (Data bank #2)
Work your way around the outside wall of the pit until you get to the lock-
box. Open it and scan the blueprint for "Alien Implosion Technology"
(NOTE: This will upgrade your grenades). (Data bank #3)
Go back up the central ladder and head to the other ladder to get to the top
again. Then head for the lift to get you to the upper catwalks. Follow the
catwalks around and jump across the broken catwalk
marker on the wall.
Follow the catwalk to the platform and through the door, taking care of
Black Ops soldiers along the way.
Go through the door to the Arm Room. Head quickly on the right catwalk to
the other side and take care of the Black Ops soldiers. Collect the keycard
from the floor.
The catwalk you went across is now gone so you will have to go down into the
pit and go up the other side. Use the lift to go down to the next level
then use the ladder to go into the pit. Clear out the mites that attack and
go up the ladder on the other side.
Use the keycard to activate the arm then turn right across the catwalk (on
the same level) to unlock the wall panel. Scan the display for "Servo-Arm
Manual". (Data bank #4)
Go back down into the pit and up the other side. Open the MAINTENANCE gate
and wait for the arm to make it to you location.
Once the arm is at your location, jump on it and ride it to the other side.
Hop off onto the platform to the right and go up the ladder. Take care of
the Black Ops soldiers on the stairs and go into the door.
Checkpoint #2: Arm Room Exit
It seems that this generator room has been targeted for overload. You must
make it to the bottom of the pit in four minutes to deactivate the overload
in the four generators.
Go down to the bottom and clear out the Black Ops soldiers and deactivate
the generators. Be aware that soldiers will be firing at you from the cat-
walks above.
Head back up to where you entered this room. Along the outer edge are tubes
with specimens in them. One of them can be scanned for "Big Foot Canister".

door. Go through the door and follow the corridor to the elevator to exit

You have to listen to the instructions and go up the crane ladder and crouch and go across the long piece of the crane and hit the button. -Answer by:rotinaj22
You just go across the beems at the cieling and drop down into the room that you get to at the end! Im just 11 and im 10 levels ahead!
It is easy, when you walk into the room and there are mutants running at you I just hide behind a crate or somthing till they tell me the area is clear. Then ,if you have it, take out the shot goun and move quickly to the door on the far side, every so often there will be a mutant that comes out of it so activate the crane and head down the ramp taking a left at the bottom. This will lead you to a latter to the rafters crouch so you can see the beams better and move to the other side, there will be a grated area to your right, go on it untill you fall into a place where there is a checkpoint called trapped, you will find another shotgun so now your holding two. Run to the other side quickly, press the action icon(the yellow/green circle) and go back to where you fell from then get ready to blast them mutants. once they stop comeing the fire door will start to close after a short cut scene. Jump off that area be fore or after killing the two mutants that aredown there and go to the fire door, another cut scene where your team dies. Turn to your right ant go to a pillar where ther are two health needles, full up then go backk to the fire door. got to the left and there will be a mutant that jumps out from behind the door, blast him with the shot gun and go up the two wooden planks that lead to the air vents. proceed along. At close to the end of it there will be two of those spider things, execute them both with one well aimed shotgun burst. then As you are hearing your friend in pain you will jump down and watch him mutate. One or two shotgun blasts later he is dead. End.

When you activate the crane go down the slope and to your left there is a ladder. go up, walk along the supports until you get to the other side of the room. drop down through the hole and turn on a switch. you have to wait a bit killing mutants until crispy and ramirez get in and then you can go.

I don't think you can get a freeze ray

Where did you hear that? I would love a freeze ray! but there is none!
I heard that after you beat the first boss(either the guy you blow up with a barrel, of the theta) you go to a wall and you pick up a weird gun that freezes aliens, monsters, ect. for 35 sec.
Switch to mutant mode and shoot parasites at the gray until the shield goes down once you kill him switch to your meson cannon and fire one round it will kill all the black ops soliders.

What I did was watched them for a minute or so, note how the arc that heads toward you at foot level and where it ends. wait till it dissapears again and make a mad dash, if this is done right you onlt needd to jump twice.
