Use feather earring
Try to get "feather earrings" which makes you run faster, it find it in the path of the spider. I havent played in a while but could you warp or something? try that if you already have the feather earrings and stilll cant beat her, she takes an hour to run to the tree
Well I didn't have a feather earring but I raced her two times and I used the pig statue. and she'll say something like. "it must be hard not being able to fly and she'll try to walk like humans'' and she'll join.

Then you walk to the village and a Dwarf will apera and turn into a dragon the stone Kain gives you will turn this dragon into stone.
