It's the kick + b attack buttons. Push them at the same time and her sword should turn into a whip-like thing with multiple segments.
Press triangle+square and any arrows to do it

What I did was what Frank101 said, and I drawed him to the edge and kicked him off. Remember that if you use your main character and fail in kicking him off you will have to restart

I would suggest having all of youre charecters at level 70 at least and use whatever weopon that you want but I would suggest a fast weopon besides a broad sword mitsirugis weopon is perfect for fighting him when you create a charecter select I think samarai as youre occupation and when the get to level 60 you unlock the soul of mitsirugi ang you can use the weopons that you have bought for him at the shops when starting the level take the guy on the right side of the hallway with the rapier I think kill him hes pretty easy then take the guys in the middle theyre unnavoidable but do not go around outside if youre a beginner expissially theyre strong then after you get to the end of the hallway take the right path the girl you fight first is a whimp then the next dont underestimate she has kick greaves if im not mistaken and shes good beat her and you can fight the boss beat him with mitsirugis weapon if youre good enough you should pone him -Answer by:michael92

I have found a great way of accomplishing this! On the "battlefield" (inside Strife's castle), DO NOT actually encounter any of the opponents (this greatly increases the risk of your characters being knocked out, and they will not recover in this chronicle, once they're dead, they're dead)! Rotate which of your characters attacks an opponent first (accept for your lead character, don't let him/her take any damage, as their death will result in the loss of the chronicle). If you have all of your characters gang up on one of Strife's guards, the guard's strength will fall fairly quickly, and only the character you sent into battle first will recieve damage. Choose the route through the castle that makes your characters face the fewest of Strife's men, and also the least powerful of his men (don't attack the top right guard, his HP is at 700, always go left at the fountain, or whatever the hell it is). You may lose a few of your characters, but if you do it this way, you will still have at least 3 people to face Strife. The best way to defeat Strife is with a knight discipline (or any discipline that can wield a lance). Use the weapon "Blazecleaver" (it will give you your strength back and take his, even if he is guarding). It will take a long time, because he is almost always guarding, but the lance attack L2 (no directional buttons, just L2) will eventually kill him! (This attack is where the character swings the lance in a circle, hitting the opponent multiple times). Another plus about this attack is that it throws Strife backwards after impact just enough that if he tries to grab you and throw you afterwards, he will miss the grab (unless he has you backed against a wall, then he will land the throw). It might sound like cheating, doing the same attack over and over, but I've won Chronicles so many times this way, I have the maximum amount of money at ALL TIMES! Good luck!

What I did was I played in the soul arena a lot like quick play. if you are in there a lot and fight a whole lot you will unlock the x-type stuff

I beat him with abess. You don't get him in mission mode. And you have to beat tale of souls mode to get Night terror's stage.
I used maxi to beat him I didn't lose I single battle so try that. You can't get nightterror I wish you could -Answer by:nightdeath73
Man you must be patient and persistant, I suggest to use Xiangua, follow this secuence of answers when they ask you what you want to do: 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd. Please don't you dare loose against Olcadan, you've got to win every single fight!

Easy one pick any character and make sure you never fight Tira then pick the path is different from your character intentions. You will go to the dark maze board and fight Unknown Soul then a random charater and then Olcadan. Then you face Zasalmel and then Night Terror
Note: You can not lose any battles including "Defend Yourself" battles or you will not fight Night Terror and will have to start over.

Beat all of the arcade missions on hard and the last one that you unlock is the fight with night terror but ive beaten him on every difficulty countless times you dont unlock him or maybe ive just never seen him and ive beaten tales of souls mode plenty of times and seen every charecter and tryed what the last submissions say to do you can not unlock him I dont think correct me if im wrong please -Answer by:michael92

There is no cheat or easy way, you have 2 do all manually characters accept for abyss to unlock all paths

Select Taki on Tales of Souls and when ever an option comes up select the bottom one AND YOU CAN NOT LOSE A SINGLE FIGHT and when night terror comes up for a battle you have to beat him the first time.
