All the competing civilizations end up with the triangular 3 rotating arrows symbol very early in the game. I can't figure out what this is and how to get it?

A1:

His means that you have trade routes with them for EX is you build a path next to one of theirs then you have that simbol. And sometimes it improuves your relasionsipes.
PS you can not get it yourself next to your icon.

A2:

It means your trading with them this is also a good way to get oil, corn, fish, etc..., click on their name I chose trade. you can also cancel trades -Answer by:ExpCheat
