Can you breed dogs on Nintendogs best friends or does it have to be some other nintendogs game?

No, you can breed on any version. BUT, before I continue, just let me say that you CAN breed Nintendogs, no matter what people say.
And if you don't know how to breed Nintendogs...
What you do is get a male and female of the breed. Color doesn't matter. Don't take the female for walks or competitions. You can the male, but it will slow the process down. Feed them only milk and dry food. No bathing or brushing until absolutely necessary.

I'm sorry to tell you but you can't breed nintendogs. if people are telling you they can they are liars. the videos on youtube are fake. I e-mailed nintendo, read the instruction booklet and everything else. nintendogs stay puppies forever so them having puppies is like two four year old kids having a baby.
but there is a way to make it LOOK like they had a puppy and that is to buy an action replay and put in the miniature dog code. this will PERMANENTLY make the dog you chose to use it on the size of a new born puppy.
warning: never use the all items code as it will ruin your game.

Hey keegan I don't think it is a good idea to post personal information like that.

You have to be as dedicated to them as you would be with a real puppy.
doing this should keep them happy-
walk them at least 1 time a day (three times would be better)
play with them a lot
feed them when they are hungry
give them water when they are thirsty

Thats simple.....
when your dog starts sniffing or even goes NEAR the trash tug on the leash to make it run forward (along side u) sometimes you need to tug more than once to get your dog safely away from the trash!
if your dog ever eats trash....
i advice when you get home you give him some milk to settle his stomach...it helps!

Go out go on bark mode if you find a friend with a different breed you can upload dogs they have.
1.buy an action replay
2. use the max trainer points cheat (it usually come installed on most versions)

thats it when you get back from your walk it will send you a bunch of messages telling you a new breed or a new house theme has been unlocked

There is no such thing as breeding. when you do the trick thing it actually causes a glitch for an exact copy of one of the dogs to appear without a name. I know so because you could do it with 2 females or 2 males as well.

R4 has all the cheatif you know what's r4
To tell the truth that other guy may say that and I have an r4 and it dose NOT have cheats for the game but if you use this cheat but I recomend useing a charger though you go and use the brush but after you chose a dog DON'T touch the brush and wait over 24 hours and also make sure to not play the game for about maybe 6-7 days becouse ther is a lot of trainer points to go throgh and it is actualy 99999 trainer points for the maxumum amount of the trainer points to get and I know that because I have a freind who is a nintendogs master at this game but with action replay and if you want to get the 99999 trainer points with action replay just look for the cheat to get max out trainer points. -Answer by:war796611
There is a code for max trainer points and it usually comes installed on most versions
Yes there is but it A. deletes your saved file (if you have one) B. it should come installed. Go to my codelists then default US codelist. The drag the file over to memory card. Click the + button then files will show up click the plus buttons on all of them. There should be one for max trainer points. Click it should put a check in the box. Then hit commit changes and go to your game.

There is a cheating device called action replay or AR for short. simply buy the action replay and use the code (i believe that the code comes installed)
About the second answer to this question: it works, but you don't get money, you actually get Trainer Points. There's a big difference in that. With money, you can buy supplies, but with trainer points you can't. You just have them to unlock things throughout the game.
