How do I kill cortez,he has a bazooka and if I try to shot at him I die .?

A1:
First of all, it is possible to defeat Cortez. There isn't any one way that works better because everybody plays their own way. If your a little slow at your button work then I would suggest that you avoid Cortez. Try skidding all over the place, shooting him from the front when he's distant. Note: this may take a while. My advise to those of you skilled with a controler is to unload on him as much as possible. Watch for his gun sight to go from green to red, then manuver a boost (if available) out of the way until your at a good position again.
