I am fighting the Final (thrid Form of Vayne) and I am stuck... i am REALLY strong and I can beat the Bosses VERY easily but the final form of Vayne does a one hit kill after he transforms (a third time). What can I do to defeat him? I tried my mist attacks but it say's "0" when I use my mist attacks? Please help me. I am so close. Is there anything that I can cast on my party that could help them?

A1:

I beat him with guys at LV51, I think you must set your gambits right, #1 being @50%hp use curaja, #2 let one defender/tank use "decoy" "protect" "shell" to one character, and get rid of diseases/stop/whatever/buffs/haste etc., #3 is use ARISE (to give full hp back when one member dies), #4 attack. Did you update your armors to the best available in town/street merchants? If your guys are wiped out totally swap one character and arise everyone else back. I think ARISE is the main ingredient you need.

A2:

You can try bubble on everybody, that doubles their HP. It also makes it alot easier if you have raise or arise combined with the ally: status: KO gambit.

A3:

Have you tried casting bubble, or setting your gambits to revive your allies when they die? He probably has a paling around him that makes him immune to physical and magical attacks, if that's the case, try casting reflect on yourself and on him, then cast a spell on yourself.

A4:

VAYNE, at one point in the fight turns INVINCIBLE.
Your quickenings, magic, regular attacks will not do any damage. The effect is only temporary though. So, I suggest healing everyone, STOP CASTING black magic(conserve mp) untill the effect wears off.
Then, pummel him.

A5:

I had one player set for gambit Curaja with HP < 40% so no one would be at the point where they could get hit once and died. Bubble belt on all characters is a good idea too. You can use quickenings if you want too. But after that's done, be sure to use charge on the character with gambit set for Curaja. But besides that, just keep laying into him.

A1:

Ok when the screen pops up itll say the characters name with a button next to it if you press that button itll go to there quickening and start a chain if no names have a button press R2 and it will shuffle the name's button things until one pops up then press it quick before it ends

A2:

First initiate a quickining. After it is initiated depending on how many characters in your current on screen part has quickinings their names will appear on the combo list. To start a combo you must press R2 to randomize the list at the bottom right hand side. When a button pops up beside the characters name press that button( [],O,^ ) to either charge his/her gauge(no magic=charge) or continue the combo. That's pretty much it.

A3:

When using quickens, always have multiple guys with them equiped, therefore you can link them together. After launching the initial quicken, you will see a list of characters in your active party with quickens. If one is available imediatly, there will be a button next to there name. Press that button. If none is available, hit R2. This will shuffle their quickens. Repeat that until someone becomes active.

A4:

Alright, this is an easy one. When you do one person's quickening spell, you might have noticed some darkened out spells above the time bar. Well, if they are all grayed out, then you should press R2 to shuffle and try to get one not grayed out, then if you press that, it will hit the monster again. Sometimes you can do mist charges, which allow you to do another quickening spell with a character that has used all of it's MP. But if you keep at pressing the right buttons, and get it high enough, they can do a LARGE magic attack and cause a huge amount of damage.

Make sure each character in your main party has one or more quickenings. then after you start a chain continue to press R2, when a you see a white phrase next to a character at the bottom right hand portion of the screen above the timer, press the corrisponding button, then press it again to continue the chain. The best way is to make sure each member of your party has quickenings then swap out an unused character for someone with no MP then have them do their quickening and chain with those in your main party.

A6:

Man oh man whoever asked this dumb question, answered it, and contridicted theirselves. If you see that you were doing Mist chains do some more it's only common sense that however you made whatever chains you SAW yourself doing you obviousley knew how to do it. Press Square, Triangle, and Circle fast like a Maniac put some duck tape on the R2 button and HIT THEM BUTTONS. That's about the bottom line.

Ok well let me just say i love this game. but to the point. ive been trying to get an optional esper. Adrammelech. idk if my people are really good enough yet but everytime i fight him i get him close but then i die my averge level is around 35 or 36 is that good enough??? and if not where should i train

That should be good enough. what i did was start off with one person, and go in and use a quickening. then add a member so i could use more quickenings. and keep going with that strategy. i was like lvl 25 so you should be in good shape.

Im going to answer my own question i finaly beat him and what i did was got my people up to about level 40 and then got every one 3 quickenings and just had my first 3 people have a very long quickining chain wich got him down about 3/4 of his health then used my last 3 people and finished the fight with another chain

A4:

Around level 40... I used my weak party to start the battle with a long quickening chain and then they all got killed rather fast :)... my main party came in, bubbled them all, hasted them all and they went to town on him... once he got down to about 20% health - I used another long quickening and he fell rather easily after that...

just endure a long battle with him and keep at least one healing cura when health gets below 60-70%

A5:

At level 20 - 25 you can beat that Esper. Use one character at a time, make them do atleast 3 Quickening Combos. Inferno, Torrent, Ark Blast will sure do some damage.

A6:

'Be around 40 or so' - This is the most unhelpful response I have seen in a while! If you're on 40 it makes this esper easy. Also, if you have gambit foe: flying and telekinesis or strong magik this makes it very easy.

A7:

35-36 is enough. Try useing your quickening. The best way to use quickening is that you should always choose the first chip, so you can make more hits. If your 3 characters dont have any SP, exchange one of your character who has SP.
Then use quickening again. Even though the other characters dont have SP they still can fight with quickening. -Answer by:Rain17

I'm attempting to fill out the bestiary completely, and I'm encountering difficulties. For the Barheim passage, the bestiary lists that I still need 10 Zombies (I killed none on my first run through the passage), and it seems that they only appear in the dark. However, after running through every inch of the Barheim passage and going back to the lightworks, it seems nothing can be done to turn off the lights again. Is there a way to make Zombies appear in Barheim post-plot?
Second inquiry: for the Feywood, the bestiary lists needing 14 of each of the Mandragora bosses (Topstalk, Onion Queen, Pumpkin Star, etc.) and again, after running all over the Feywood, I haven't encountered a single one. Does anyone know where those can be found, or why they're even listed as appearing in the Feywood?

How to defeat Garuda?

A1:

Attack it with magic. Or you can get a special fruit that the garuda(avion) hates to drive it away. you can get the fruit by talking to the moogle at the save crystal after after you past the sandsea( i forgot the name of it but its not the nam- yensa sand sea, i think) talk to the moogle who was talking to the urutan-yensa. the moogle will ask if you want to help the urutan-yensa. accept it then go find the monster( it looks like a giant turtle) and defeat it. after that go talk to the moogle again, it will tell you the urutan yensa went to get your reward. Follow it, thenthere will be a cut scene. The urutan yensa queen will kill the it because it asked for help, but after they leave you should see a plant it will give you a fruit you can use on the garuda.

A2:

Get everyone around level 16 or 17...then it is a pretty easy battle....keep fran in thw whole time if you have killer bow...and keep vossler alive b/c he does good damage also

A3:

I got most of my characters around lvl 14-16, and bombarded that bitch with mist techniques. If you combine them properly, you get added damage. My first wave of attacks took him down around 70%, then just unload your strongest magics... I suggest some ethers if you have them, to be on the safe side.

A4:

All i did was through the berries onto Garuda, than I have 3 charcters that were in my party with mist, I casted mist, that did 6000 damage, and i had 2 other party members with mist, and switched over to the other 2, casted mist again, and that finished off Garuda

A5:

Garuda was pretty easy. It likes Vossler a lot, so it would pay attention to Vossler. And since Vossler can actually attack it, your job is to try and keep everyone alive. Even Vossler, even though I'm sure you'd neglect guest characters. Have ranged weapons and keep casting black magicks. You can also use those berries you get after killing the Urutan Eater from that little flower.

A6:

Before going into a fight..cast protect, shell (if you have them). Always cast Dispel/Dispelga on any bosses. Vaan was easy, he went back and forth to magical/physical attacks so watch ur upper left corner and take advantage of what he's not immune to. Set your Gambits up for curage, and any ailments he causes.
If your hit points are low, cast bubble or find bubble belts.
Buy the best Armor/Weapons whenever you can. If you have to go out and fight some monsters for loot...so be it.
Better to be prepared to finish the fight, than die in the middle and have to go back.

Here a way, but its some what risky.. or not :) . at the start of the match have only the LEADER ( must be a healer) and VOSSLER on the field. Garuda always goes after Vossler, now all you have to do it let vossler attack. here the fun part. After Vossler atacks once or twice, press R2 to flee and go back towards where u came, around the enterance steps. As you do this Garuda will follow you til it reaches the last pillar ( make sure garuda is hot on your tail). Now QUICKLY turn and attack garuda as he returning to his original position. For some weird reason he will not attack, do this a few times and he should be dead, espcially if u have those berries in hand :), o ya when hes weak and he tried to run, bring out all your party members, cast slow so he wont ruyn that far and finish the job.

With this strategy, you get a Garuda running back and fourth similar to my attack against Ghis, and being vulnerable. have fun and enjoy. Most boss in this game die by making them run back and fourth and gettin hit by the other party members. They are computers, they dont have the power of a human brains. so all those out there who need help beating bosses in ff12 ( just test out the boss, such as Garuda try a few things and see if it's effective or not,you got urself a whole strategy) - dun give up just because they killed you a few times. it not always about who got better stats or strength :)

A8:

What i did was use that blue flower that the yensa dude gave me and it was dead within 2 minutes. Vossler pwns with that telekinesis technique.

A9:

You can just have Vossler attack while the rest of the party casts dark on Garuda which does alot of damege.

A10:

Blind the thing. I blinded it and it hit me twice throughout the entire battle. Then use dark constantly (if u have it) or any other magicks if u have them. Also, the Eskir Berries help a lot.

Ok READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!! Be sure you have the Sluice Gatekey. THEN once you have that active the two SLUICE GATE CONTROLS on your right when you enter the wateway. Go through one of those entry ways and look for another one of those SLUICE GATE CONTROLS things on that side and activate it!!! Go back to those other two SLUICE GATE CONTROLS and deactivate them. THEN, do the same thing by activating the other two on the other side and go through one of the entry ways look for another SLUICE GATE CONTROL and activate it. THEN FINALLLY.... GO BACK AND DEACTIVATE THE FIRST SLUICE GATE CONTROL AND HAVE THE MIDDLE TWO SLUICE CONTROLS ACTIVATED! THEN GO THROUGH THE MIDDLE ENTRY WAYS AND GO TO THE CENTER WHERE THERE IS A EMPTY SQUARE SPACE! THERE IS AN ESPER ANd HE HAS A SPECIAL EFFECT YOU WILL HAVE SAP ON YOU (drains you hp)! AND THAT THING IS TOUGH! HES A RANK 5 AND MY PEOPLE ARE AT: Fran 63, Ashe 48, Basch 48, Vaan 48, Penalo 48, And Balthier 48. LAST time I fought him Fran was 60 and the others were 46. SO BE SURE YOU ARE LEVELED UP REALLLY GOOD OR HES GONNA KILL YOU! And that esper will have some sort of slimes on with him and they will kill you FASTER!

I RECOMMEND you also have BUBBLE ON YOU, HASTE, BE SURE YOUR GAMBITS ARE SET FOR HEALING AND YOU AND BRINGING BACK YOUR KO'd PEOPLE!, AND BE SURE YOU ALSO HAVE ALOT OF X-POTIONS, POTIONS, HI-POTIONs, ETHERS, ELIXIRS, AND ALSO BE SURE YOU HAVE ALOT OF MAGIC! I ALSO RECOMMEND TO HAVE EVERYONE IN YOUR PARTY TO MASTER ALL THER QUICKENINGS....IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!

You have to go to central water way control.make shure you have the sluice gate key. first you turn the glowing controlls off. thre are four controls. firs activate the 11th and 4th, now deactivate the 11th and activate the 3rd, finaly deactivate the the 4th. now go to the southern end of the same screen there you will find a shinning object pick it up.

note you have to do this in the exact the same order as I say or it wont work and you have to start all over again

A3:

With the Sluice Gate Key which get from the reward of White Mousse hunting mission, go
back to Garamsythe Waterway, so that you can control the panel. In the central
control section, you can see some spheres there which are the panel of 3rd,
4th, 10th and 11th area waterway. To not be confused, light off all panels
for first, then follow the steps below:
- On No.11 Area Panel. (thats mean light up the panel)
- On No.4 Area Panel.
- Off No.11 Area Panel.
- On No.3 Area Panel.
- Off No.4 Area Panel.
- Now go around South in the same area and find the shiny object on the ground
which is another fragment that you need, Dull Fragment.
NOT in the South section, it's still the semi-circle!

A4:

You have to have the sluice gate key. first go to the private residence in northern lowtown. talk to the guy in there and the take the letter on the table. there should be something like southeast southwest south east or something like that on the paper. first turn off all the the sluices so that they're all dark. then open or close the sluice that corresponds with the direction listed on the piece of paper. after you do that the fragment should be on floor in the southern part of the crescent room, and I think it's the dull fragment.
