Attack it with magic. Or you can get a special fruit that the garuda(avion) hates to drive it away. you can get the fruit by talking to the moogle at the save crystal after after you past the sandsea( i forgot the name of it but its not the nam- yensa sand sea, i think) talk to the moogle who was talking to the urutan-yensa. the moogle will ask if you want to help the urutan-yensa. accept it then go find the monster( it looks like a giant turtle) and defeat it. after that go talk to the moogle again, it will tell you the urutan yensa went to get your reward. Follow it, thenthere will be a cut scene. The urutan yensa queen will kill the it because it asked for help, but after they leave you should see a plant it will give you a fruit you can use on the garuda.

: Get everyone around level 16 or 17...then it is a pretty easy battle....keep fran in thw whole time if you have killer bow...and keep vossler alive b/c he does good damage also

: I got most of my characters around lvl 14-16, and bombarded that bitch with mist techniques. If you combine them properly, you get added damage. My first wave of attacks took him down around 70%, then just unload your strongest magics... I suggest some ethers if you have them, to be on the safe side.

: All i did was through the berries onto Garuda, than I have 3 charcters that were in my party with mist, I casted mist, that did 6000 damage, and i had 2 other party members with mist, and switched over to the other 2, casted mist again, and that finished off Garuda

: Garuda was pretty easy. It likes Vossler a lot, so it would pay attention to Vossler. And since Vossler can actually attack it, your job is to try and keep everyone alive. Even Vossler, even though I'm sure you'd neglect guest characters. Have ranged weapons and keep casting black magicks. You can also use those berries you get after killing the Urutan Eater from that little flower.

: Before going into a fight..cast protect, shell (if you have them). Always cast Dispel/Dispelga on any bosses. Vaan was easy, he went back and forth to magical/physical attacks so watch ur upper left corner and take advantage of what he's not immune to. Set your Gambits up for curage, and any ailments he causes.
If your hit points are low, cast bubble or find bubble belts.
Buy the best Armor/Weapons whenever you can. If you have to go out and fight some monsters for loot...so be it.
Better to be prepared to finish the fight, than die in the middle and have to go back.

: Here a way, but its some what risky.. or not :) . at the start of the match have only the LEADER ( must be a healer) and VOSSLER on the field. Garuda always goes after Vossler, now all you have to do it let vossler attack. here the fun part. After Vossler atacks once or twice, press R2 to flee and go back towards where u came, around the enterance steps. As you do this Garuda will follow you til it reaches the last pillar ( make sure garuda is hot on your tail). Now QUICKLY turn and attack garuda as he returning to his original position. For some weird reason he will not attack, do this a few times and he should be dead, espcially if u have those berries in hand :), o ya when hes weak and he tried to run, bring out all your party members, cast slow so he wont ruyn that far and finish the job.
With this strategy, you get a Garuda running back and fourth similar to my attack against Ghis, and being vulnerable. have fun and enjoy. Most boss in this game die by making them run back and fourth and gettin hit by the other party members. They are computers, they dont have the power of a human brains. so all those out there who need help beating bosses in ff12 ( just test out the boss, such as Garuda try a few things and see if it's effective or not,you got urself a whole strategy) - dun give up just because they killed you a few times. it not always about who got better stats or strength :)

: What i did was use that blue flower that the yensa dude gave me and it was dead within 2 minutes. Vossler pwns with that telekinesis technique.

: You can just have Vossler attack while the rest of the party casts dark on Garuda which does alot of damege.

: Blind the thing. I blinded it and it hit me twice throughout the entire battle. Then use dark constantly (if u have it) or any other magicks if u have them. Also, the Eskir Berries help a lot.
