To get into the door behind the attic stairs, slip your newspaper under the door and then poke the key with the boring tool. This will open the keyhole for you to be able to use the key you found in the safe.

I got the key to work on the left side of the door where the door knob is not. Don't understand it, but the key activated there.

If you examine the photo which shows James digging a grave for the body (you did find it right?) you can see the shadow of a tower lining up perfectly with the location of the grave. If it's too early, the shadows won't show (make sure it's 4 PM). You need to dig right at the tip of the tower's shadow.

There are no candles. call jerry agian and he will tell you a dark at for creative juices to start flowing. but he wont say that until you search every place in the house that you can get to.
You don't actually have to search the whole house, just walk into the next room and then go back to the phone and call him back.

Go to the car and try the trunk, pull the battery, charge in garage with bike headlamp. mess around on the bike till the wires connect, the turn pedals. put battery back, then you should be able to move around

Yes it is, it will always happen. Since there are two doors leading to the same room, they probably have a key per entrance. Now if you'd only find that another key...
