Could be due to custom content you have installed. I had the same problem. heres how I fixed it:
1. copy+paste all your custom content into a backup file (outside of the downloads folder)
2. delete everything in the download folder
3. play your game (dont worry about the skin tones etc changing on your sims)
4. go through with the birth
5. move all your CC back into the downloads folder. Voila!

Yes what you do is:
After two Sims "Try For a Baby" and the "success" tune plays, hit Ctrl+Shift+C and type in "TwinzR2Cute". When the Sim has the baby, you should have an identical twin as well.

Or you can type in 'forcetwins' and you'll have twins. The only way to do that is when she becomes first pregnat. Pause the game and put in ctrl+shift+c and type in 'forcetwins'.
Yeah, you can either use the 'forcetwins' or 'twinzr2cute' cheat once you have tryed for a baby and the success tune has played or you can just wait until your sim actually has twins on it's own. But, this rarely happens s I would suggest you use the cheat! Happy simming! =P -Answer by:Caitycat95

Once your sims is pregnant you can either use 'forcetwins' or 'twinsR2cute' or (but I dont know if this always works) you make your sims whoohoo again after she is already pregnant. that should make her have twins too, but no guarantee on that ^^
Yeah if you go into the neighborhood with the family you want the twins in shift ctrl and c button with the bool op testing tru thing then go into your house shift click on the sim when she is right about to have the baby then click more then select force twins
I think so, either using the cheat (open cheat bar c+shift+control) TwinsR2Cute or forcetwins OR in your rewards their is a BIG icon of the rewards symbol thing yh, it glows a bit, click a lifetime benefit thing comes up if you go 2 the top of family it increases the chance of having twins NATURALLY but I have max LTA score which you get from the cheat BoolProp Testingcheatsenabled true then holding shift clicking on the sim found debug interaction then max LTA score 4 the male and female sims, they have had 2 sets of twins without cheats since. hope it helped!

Yes, it is possible to get a man pregnant. You have to look through a telescope (preferably the most expensive one) between 7pm and 2am and wait for aliens to abduct him. He will come back pregnant with a little alien baby.

Yes, you have to type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true in the cheat box by pressing ctrl+shift+c and then when you type it on you press shift and click on a sim and click more and click make pregnant.

Ok this might help Get an adult sim and click on the homework select help with home work then the sims name they will do the home work and also learn how to study if you have never selected this option

I don't make any sim do homework I go on buy mode get the sledgehammer (its in the section next 2 where you chose live mode, buy mode etc: it looks like a hammer if you hold your mousepointer over it it sure come up saying sledgehammer) its great cuz you don't have 2 do the homework AND your grades go up!
Go into buy mode and hold down Ctrl-Shift-C and type into the bar at the top 'moveobjects on' and the put a table by the homework. Move the homework onto the table, and delete the table. The homework will disappear aswell. Your sim won't lose any grades- in fact, their grades will go up!

I have a question, if I do as A5 said (force error), does it mean all the relationships with other sims gone as well?
Don't save it, or you could save it but I don't know if they'll come back. But my child did because I deleted him on accient. :/

Well im only 9 so this might help a little type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true like that ok now press select and click on a sim (any kind) and click spawn and keep clicking spawn until you find clone and you can choose who you want to clone but make sure you typr in the cheat in the neighborhood before play hope this help for you!

Its is not a glitch! It happened to a friend of mine and to be honest it only happens to bad computers or really slow one reply if you have a good computer.

Yes I have bad graphics too especially when I make my sim it always has bad hair and stuff everything is all square and it all happens because the pc probally has downloded to much stuff and it makes your pc very slow for it to have enough space for graphics\
Maby your computer's graphic cards and 3-D cards cannot support The Sims 2. Or, you can try lowering the graphic settings to low (not the size one the one that is sefultly 800x400) and the shadows set to OFF. try that and if it does not work, try getting new 3d cards and graphic cards.

Yea you can. Just go to the "houses an bins" option. Then remove house. This will remove the whole family to the housing bin and then when you enter new neighborhood you can place their home wherever you want to.

U can if you put the house they r in into the houses bins then go to a different neighbourhood and put the house down if you want them to move house 2 you just move them out the house, simple.

If you mean like from a vampire to normal you can drink a special potion that changes you back you can buy them from the matchmaker or make them if you are a witch in the boil tub thing. of if your Sim is messed up you put moveobjects on in the cheat box (ctrl shift c) and pick them up and delete them and save go to neighborhood and come back to the family and the Sim will be at the mailbox! When you download a sim I dont think it turns up automaticly in your game you have to go to create a family and the sim should be it the clone section if its not you might have to unzip the folders hope this helps

If you have apartent life you if you are in a apartment you can knock on other doors and chose ask out of somthing like that.

Hopefully you are holding them at the same time like if you where going to make a capital letter exsept that you hold control down at the same time (when you do it right its just a white line at the top of the screen)

Do you have windows vista or windows 7? I have windows vista and I have the same problem. Try holding down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + C all at the same time. If this doesn't work, try holding down CTRL + THE BUTTON WITH THE WINDOWS START SYMBOL ON IT (TO THE LEFT OF ALT) + SHIFT + C
I have windows vista and it works fine. Just hold them all down together. You don't need to press Alt or whatever. Just make sure you use the Ctrl button on the left, between Fn and the windows sign.

For the carpool problem: did you buy a car? If you did and you changed the owner to you, then the carpool will stop coming and you have to drive yourself to work.
For the stuff avaliable to buy problem: Do you not have enough money? If you don't, then you can't buy the stuff. Open the cheat window ctrl+shift+c and type in motherlode and it will give you 50,000.
For the changed looks of your people problem: Not a clue.

You can create clothes and skin and stuff. hit create new item, or something along thoughs lines. then click the one you need, hit export skin, and open paint. go to ea games, sims 2, project, and whatever name you saved it under. edit it, go back to body shop, hit the refresh button to check it, and when you have it how you want it, hit import to game, and your new thing is there. hope that's somewhat clear.

When you are making a family before it lets you create a sim there should be the family last name thing you hit shift N like you where making a capital letter and it should say youve un locked staff go to the little star beside the skin tone (like this*) and you should see the grey skin tone. but if you do shift M the stuff will vanish so use cap lock if you need to make a capital m

Well if you have open for busness(i cant spell) you can go by car but it colud be that there is tuff in your way, your sim might not be in a good mood or you need to make your sim run down the stairs in to the front yard before clicking on the bus
FIRST ANSWER IS WRONG you can't get cars without nightlife, but everything else could b true, if you have a car choose drive 2 skwl or if they aren't in a good mood try fulfilling their wants
Were you using any cheat codes at the time? Because the cheat code 'boolProp testing CheatsEnabled true' can cause this to happen. It happened to me and there's nothing you can do to fix it. If you use that cheat, make sure you turn it to false when you aren't using it.
Try going to the options button, then game settings, and make sure that the free will button is turned off. Maybe that will help :)

First off, you need the Sims 2 Bon Voyage expansion pack. If you have it, then take a vacation where there is an ocean. (Maybe its just the beach.) If you look closely and long enough, you will see a mermaid. Mate with it, and you will turn into a mermaid! Hope this helps!

The best (and safest) place is the Sims2.com website. You have to make an account and prove that you own the game by typing in the code on the back of the box of your game, but it's worth it.

A.) to get your male sim prego, buy the expensive telescope, and have him stargaze between the hours of midnight, and 4:30 - 5.00 am. if it says he only found an unknown star, its just because your game is in the process of creating aliens. Next time you star gaze, it should have aliens come.
B.) to have sim twins on OFB (open for business) eat spaghetti and or cheesecake. It works but don't 100% guarantee you'll get twins every time. (This was answered for someone that doesn't want to use cheats, nor hacks.)
C.) for the person that said they cannot open Ctrl-Shift-C, I'm having the same problem. Ill tell you what... Ima do some research (major sims 2 fan, and computer wiz) and get back to you ASAP.
D.) Unfortunately, the only way to clean out your game filter is to uninstall your entire game and reinstall it. Sorry. I got rlly mad when I found this out but it rlly is the only way.
E.) The main reason you get 4 disks(depending on which version of sims 2 you buy) is because if you have any malfunctions when you can either switch disks, or if you ever have to uninstall the game and reinstall in again [question D.)] you can save your previous game on another disk (provided) and keep in on your computer. you can then go back and download your last game on to that CD Rom. It's similar to burning a disk.
I have more answers that I will continue to answer for another day. Until then I'm sorry I don't't know all the answers to the ones I do know, but keep checking to see if I answered your questions! :-)

I think you can only have pets on The sims 2 pets, and the usual way to make a family bigger is to 'Try for a baby', or you could try marrying some of the family members off to other people in your neighbourhood. As for taking the children inside, as an adult, click on the child and click 'hold', and then while your person is holding the child, you click inside and click on 'Put _______ here' Hope this helps and your baby doesn't have to sleep outside! )

First, you have to have Sims 2 University, then you have to kill the sim that you want to turn into a zombie (unless they're already dead) and then you have to get the special phone to call the Grim Reaper by either going to college and getting your diploma in the supernatural and then getting a job in that field, then when you go into 'career rewards' you can get that special Grim Reaper Phone, OR you could just use the boolprop-tombstone cheat and get it that way.
Once you get the phone, you call the Grim Reaper, and tell him that you want to bring a sim back to life, he'll ask you to pay a certain amount of money, and you pay him the very lowest amount that you can pay for him to bring a person back without him rejecting your request, and he'll accept and a zombie will appear! Ta Da!

To turn a sim into a zombie, you have to have the Sims 2 University expansion pack. Once you have the expansion, you must kill the sim you want to bring back as a zombie.
After your preferred sim is dead, you must either have a job in the paranormal or use a cheat to get the job reward of having a special phone to call the Grim Reaper.
Once you call the Grim Reaper, pay the smallest amount of money that he will possibly accept and the dead sim will come back in a swirl of purple smoke as a zombie!

Most times I saw Bella goth around Strange town. If you go to any shopping areas I think you could see Bella goth . try making friends with her until you can make Bella move in . Then make Bella look into the telescope again and make it back ? I did not tried it before though but I think it can work~
This may help, sorry if it doesn't:
On the goth family make Cassandra look through the telescope at night time. ( i'm not sure if this is how you do it though) : Hit Ctrl + Shift + C. a cheat box will come up. type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. If you typed it in correctly, go back on the game and hold down shift then click on the telescope the choose "get Abducted" If this is how you do it then When cassandra is about to get abducted it would show a video of bella dissapearing then she will come back. Unfortunately her memory has been wiped so she won't know anyone. Hope this helps :-)
PS: The bella in strange town isn't the real bella. I guess it is just there to put you off.
Also it is important you get the cheat box up again then type: boolprop testingcheatsenabled false. If you don't It could stuff-up your game. ( all good things have a deadly price!)

I worked it out a few days ago actually! Well, what I did was:
press Ctrl+Shift+C. hold shift then click on the old man in the goth family (i forgot his name) and then click Spawn then Tombstone L n D. Then a gravestone should appear near him, and click "add neighbour to family". there would be lots of sims names but if you keep looking "bella" would be one of them names, click on that and she will appear near you. - (she will be selectable, but when I did it she was only my friend, so you will have to build up a relationship.)

Usually, no. But sometimes the house will work and only the windows or whatever is from the game you don't own will be blue or not be there at all. Then you can just delete them and buy ones from your own catalog:)

You have to make them argue or have the opposite sim catch the other sim cheating, and then you can have the fight to make them even more angry with each other (although being caught cheating is more than enough to break them up) and you click on one of the sims and click "break up" and they won't be married anymore.
It's more than likely the code...it causes a lot of glitches. you could try to put all your graphic levels low, and see how that works.
I don't think there is anything that can fix this. It happened to me once before and I went online to find out why. It's because the cheat code is like a "mother of all cheats" cheat. And so it can really mess up the family your playing with it. In the future, just make sure you turn the cheat back to false when you're not using it. Don't ever leave it on while you play.
I read on the sims wiki that things like this can happen if you save with the cheat on.

I was able to solve this problem just now. The same thing happened with one of my sims (not to mention, my favorite sim named Athena :/). I used boolprop testingcheatsenabled on and I used another family (surname: mythology), my family's (surname: myth) neighbor, to do this: I shift~clicked a sim and clicked spawn. Then I clicked tombstone of L & D and clicked Add Neighbor to family afterwards. Of course, I added Athena to mythology family. I saved the game and went again to Myth family, my family. I did the same, I added Athena to Myth family and waited for the school bus to come. Fortunately, she was able to go to school without the school bus icon disappearing. Hope I helped. :)

Okay go to the phone and then click real estate.... purchase vacation home. if you need money type ctrl+shift+c type money then click enter then a big box comes up then type motherload and click enter+ up as many tyms you want and watch your fund get higher any ways enjoy...... =L happy simming
