Well what you do is you can use the R3 analog stick and holding R1 as you run up for the dunk, use the R3 stick in different directions to perform different fashy dunks but do not hold R1 when attempting a flashy lay up because you will do a dunk instead and by the way certain players can do finese dunks ex:Kobe Bryant, Dewayne wade, and Ray Allen

Use the right analog, pull down and when the player reaches the top of his shot let the analog flick back up, or if the controller is set to motion then hold the controller like a basketball and shoot
You just have to pull back on R3 and release when the character releases.

To shoot free throws you pull back the right thumb thick and wait until he is at the peak of his shot if you release at the right time he makes it it will also tell you either, perfect release, offcentered, or completely missed.
Look man you're just garbage!! But anyway, You must first pull the right analong back and let it go when you,re ready(not push back up as demostrated on NBA Live 07). Tip: It also depend on who you have at the charity stripe. The brtter the player is at the line, the more room for error you will have. Just remember my friend, timing is very essential at the line because those shots in the fourth quarter will determine your fate in the final seconds of the game. Believe me I've won alot of nail biting games because of thos free throws!

Blocks are base on match up and height start trying pressing R1 when you are adjusting your starting line ups to a more effective game.
tip: If your opponent is aggressive to the paint try and take the charge don't go for the block let the cpu. (it helps a lot to play on a harder levels)

You have to get points buy winning games and doing special things during the game. Then go to the crib, go to the menu, then say buy mini game and both are 2000 points. If you buy them together its 4000 points. Hope that helped

Go to the associatin mode or in season mode. while entering to the mode, either of the two, look for the customize leageu and turn it ON press Enter,u will see the different division, select one in any of the available team by pressing the X button on the selected team and then scroll, by then keep scrolling until you find your desired legends, then click the X button to set the team. Press Enter again and luk for your team(legends) and start the season/assoc. mode......go to the options and save it(export team), then quit.......to put it as a regular one, or putting Magic johnson or abdul jbr in the lakers roster, do the same procedure but make it sure that in the first place you will indicate 2 teams(ex. for the legeds and Lakers)and turn ON the customize leageu, put the legends in any of the team except to lakers..Enter the season/assoc.mode and start trading players..then save(export team).save and quit..load the team and look for it right before 76ers..tnx..s.t.a.r.t-p.l.a.y.i.n.g
