The formation you should have is your basic 4-4-2 and the key positions are you're strikers and you're goalkeeper good strikers are needed because otherwise withoutthe you score no goals and also without a good keeper then expect to let alot in.The wing backs are quite important and so are you're wingers because these people can take it up the wing for a cross in and also stop players marching through for the cross.also the ceneter midfielers if tey have the right inteligence and creativity then they make for a great play maker.For strikers try and find speed and shot power because as long as they've got decent accuracy.Thats pretty much all the basics covered
I find that a 4-3-3 formation works extremely well. Get a tall good headerer of the ball and play two small quick players on either side of him.
