You can do it on a PS2, I saw someone with it. u have to download programs to your comp(which ones, not totally sure)then get a computer geek to reconfigure your PS2 to recieve backup files. it is a hell of a lot of work.
You gotta download Guitar hero explorer, and a lot of other programs, have an mp3 format audio and a .mid format of the audio that you want to play. take the songs from your gh2 via DVD reader on your computer, copy all of the files from the disc, put them all in a folder then switch the .mid and mp3s in the folder with the oned u want to play and copy it to a disc usin CDVDGEN, which happens to be the same program that sony uises to make the games in the first place. But you must have a modded PS2 able to read dvds in order to do this! A complete guide is a vailable at www.scorehero.com oh, and im awesome!
No you can not "download songs to an xbox 360" sorry not possible. You can only mod on the ps2 version of the game as of yet. and when they do mod the 360, its goign to be the same method as the ps2, you dont just download them off the internet.
Or you could just wait untill guitar hero 3
on the song list... it deffinatley shows Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce =D
but thats just the easy way >

Ahh yes you can, do some research before you post fud.
This is for PS2. I'm not sure how to do it for Xbox so I won't try to explain that...anyway this is how you do it:
First>Get guitar hero explorer
Second>Download/make the song you want on there (note: its much harder to make than download somewhere else from someone who already made it) and download guitar hero 2
Third>Buy some DVD burning discs (DVD-RW+- or the like)
Fourth>Buy swap magic/hacking device (such as a modchip)
Fifth>Burn your version of guitar hero to the disc(the DVD-RW)
Sixth>Follow your hacking devices instructions for playing burnt discs
Seventh>Have fun with your modded songs! ^_^
Star Power is when you get enough combinations of the star chords to fill up your 'Star Meter'. To use this, press select (right below start button on your guitar) or tip your guitar up in the air and it will automatically do it for you.
Just lift your guitar upward or press select(best way is probably to press it with the right edge of your palm) make sure you use it at a part where you can get 100% on or when your meter is down to red.
When you see notes that are stars on the fretboard, play them all without missing or over-strumming to extract their star power. Then when your star-meter is at least half-full, raise your guitar up so that it points toward Jesus to deploy the star power.
When the star power meter is half way or fully loaded or whatever you just hold the guitar at a slant or... you can go to the options menu and make it so you can tilt down so good luck and rock on byebye for now
You can go through a tedious process of hacking the game (with a DVD-Reader on your computer) and downloading about 12 programs to edit the songs, changeing the song and the nots played, it's tedious work, but if you feel like doing it, have fun making your own songs!
A2:
No,because you would need GH3 to get it or use a Xbox360 to down load it.
It's just as anybody will say. practice.
i tried to get 100% on that and I still cant do it even though I can play free bird on xpert. >I< need to practice more.
Yeah, it is hard. Practicing would be best. Or if you have a friend who plays it on hard, you can play Pro face off with them. There isn't a rock meter for it, so it's impossible to fail.
I think you need to grow at least 2 extra fingers to complete Jordan on expert...... It's borderline impossible. I haven't come across anyone that has been able to complete it yet. Maybe in practice mode if you try and complete it a section at a time you will stand a greater chance. If you can memorize whats coming you might have a better shot. Good luck dude, keep rockin.
Don't know if it's still helping, but, what you do is beat the first part of the solo. Like, wait until it gets to the extremely hard part like red, yellow, red, yellow, red, yellow really fast. after that part, theres a short pause and it goes to the next part, which is green red yellow green red yellow fast. Use star power then.
First you have to have full star power going into the solo (which I'm sure you do because your able to get 58% through the song) and you MUST have a full ROCK meter after solo a. You have to get through the first break in the solo before you use star power or you will probably fail halfway into solo c (right about where you are). Keep practicing solos B and C until you can get about 60%, then you should be able to get to the BNOF (blue note of freedom) and you won't fail after that
Put an elastic band around the green button and mold your fingers to the other 4 frets(Not literally). But if you do that you dont have to worry about hitting green just strumming for it. It takes a while to get used to but it works! Also people might say it doesnt work for chords... It doesnt... but in Jordan there is only 1 chord in the whole song :P Good Luck. I beat it! :)
Try to do pull=offs and hammer-ons. you do that by like say there is two notes really close together but one is after another. so strum the first note and then press the other one QUICKLY while holdin' the firast note. keep practicing song that require those "tricks" and you can use the solos as one BBBIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGhammer-on &pull-offf and it can be accomplished! PHEW! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh......... THERE!
I can honestly say iv betten jorden on xpert 87% 5star uv gota practice it man all the tyme I played it 3hrs then passed it I played 3hrs mre same day and got 5 stars keep PRACTICING
I've actually beaten Jordan three times, its one of the hardest things i've ever done lol. you just have to nail Solo B for as LONG AS POSSIBLE and then use the select button to star power it up, tilting doesn't go right away
To be completely level with you, the only way to beat jordan is to first get at least 4 stars on the rest of the game, youll pick up enough tools for moving your hand to figure out certain parts so you can try to save your star power early on
I have beaten jordan plenty of times.. a lil more than ten I think but anyways.. it took me about two hours of practice and I got it! just practice the solo until you hit about 60 percent of the notes.. and when you really play save your star power until around 49-51 percent of the song and use it. Thats what I do
~Meach~
Just because you elastic the green button on jordan doesnt necessarily mean you suck. I beat it without the elastic. it took me a day of practicing guitar solo b, and another day to practice the rest and I finally beat it. not an easy song. and use the elastic if you want, its not really cheating, nor does it mean youre not allowed to play on expert.
Green= L2 red=L2 yellow= R1 blue=R2 orange= um, one of the 4 buttons on the right, havent had to use orange yet, and btw, it's acctually alot easier cuz you dont have to stroke the string thingy, just push the button
(L2) is green , (L1) is red, (R1)is yellow (R2) is blue and (x) is orange.
Left joystick is the thing you make the line wiggle with , select on the controler is for star power
it isnt really that hard. its just like hitting the notes on time on the guitar without struming.
You can play with a controller but I don't recommend it because it's actually much harder than it appears. Anyway why use a controller when its more magical using the guitar?
First off, only one character will do this that I've seen. You're going to have to get Clive Winston as a character (he's the long haired dude with shades and a 'stache), but he's an unlockable and will cost you $3000! He does this sometimes when you activate star power (tilting the guitar neck up or pressint the select button), and a lot of times when you finish a song using him.
First of all, it's not the guitar that's on fire, it's your hands.
Secondly, in the bottom right corner, the box shows your score. Below that, it's blank, or it says X2, X3 or X4. I've seen X8 if Star Power is activated. You need to get it up to at least X4 to make your hands burn up.
The easiest way to get more songs is to beat the game on easy. After beating the game on easy you will have all the regular songs. To get the "Encore" songs you must beat it on at leat medium difficulty and to get all the extras you will use your money you collect tu purchase them at the store in career mode.
You might notice that you aren't getting paid. This is probably because your Career difficulty is set to easy. You only get paid on medium, hard and expert. Once you get paid, you can go to the store.
You cant go into the store yet atleast not in easy in any other level you'll make money in your career then you can go to the store and buy songs/people/guitars/outfits/& videos
You gotta play the game on medium, hard, or expert, but for now i'd finish the easy career so you have good practice. because once you get into those blu notes u really gotta get into the game
GH2 don't pay on easy but GH1 does. I have all 3 guitar Heros and I was irritated at first that easy would't let you in the store on GH2 (which was actually the first GH I bought. Gh1 the second) but I dealt with it.
Ha my friend plays w/o looking...try strumming the right way if ur left handed go to the video options and change it...practice moving ur fingers faster
Anser 3 is rite you do need to practice. Cuz wen I got the game I cud only play easy and not even get 4 stars on anything, and now I can get 5 gold stars on every song on expert except jordan and freebird.
Ry using your thumb to pick. set it above the strum key, and down pick. the only time that you really need to do alternate picking, is on the REALLY close notes, like at the last 10 seconds or so of Hanger 18
When a note of the same color is apearing more then once in a role you can hold down that color and just strum it instead of wasting enegy by contiuosly pressing the color and strumming.
Umm im not positive but.. I hear theres a way you can reassemble your ps2 to put any song you want on there, my friend is doing it, getting a song called rock lobster.. dont ask.
we were sittin on the beach...
everybody had matching towels
somebody went under a dock, and there they saw a rock!
but it wasn't a rock
it was a rock lobster
ROCK LOBSTER!!
ROCK LOBSTAAA
To do this you can either Hard Modify your Ps2 with your choice of chip or you can Soft Modify the Ps2.
I personally perfer soft mod cause you can easyly do it.
When the Ps2 is modified, you have to find a program to add to your Ps2, like mine cog-swap, to detect a Burned Dvd Ps2 game.
The QUALITY OF THE MEDIA MATTERS! - This is for booting reasons.
There is a whole entire world of things you can do with a modified ps2 such as put your own games that you have bought on to a Hard drive that is compatible to the Ps2 and play it never lose it or scrach the darn thing.
I myself have just made a beta version of my CUSTOM Guitar Hero, so therefore whomever is saying that it is not true is a Deet Dee Dee!
I rewrote the entire setlist except the Extras and the song Freya (for some reason this is close to the samples you hear when selecting a song so DON'T MESS WITH IT, unless you know what you are doing).
Just watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqKjEROuYSw&mode=related&search=
YouTube - How to put in custom songs into Guitar Hero 2 - part 1 of 2
A2:
I don't know! why are you asking me, freak? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY? here take this code and stop talking to me. o b o y o b o y= unlock everything and still be able to save!
Basically, you have to get as many notes correct as possible. The more notes you miss, the more notes you get incorrectly, and the more stray notes you make, the more the bar will lean toward the red.
Yeah you train your fingers to move quicker than is possible for most people, if you really want to see someone finsih it on expert go to youtube.com and look it up, then find the one where he simulcasts the game screen and himself playing the guitar..i haven't been able to do it yet either so don't feel bad
When you get to the part in the song with the chunk of trills, realize that it's split in to two parts. You have to make it through the first part without star power. When you get to the second part, throw the star power (which has to be full). The star power should then help you survive most of the hard part of the solo. Work up more star powers for later.
Sup man I have yet to beat jordan but i've gotten through 60% of the song. You have to practice the guitar break section so you will be green on your rock meter before entering the first kick your ass solo. try not to use your star power until close towards the end of the first solo half. The first huge solo isn't hard at all to stay in it. It is just overwhelming. We'll get it but hope this gets u a few percents further. Learn the song in training mode, master the course and you'll get there
I heard somewhere that a guy used a rubber band on the green button in this song and it helped... a lot. he got almost every note. so, you should try it.
Tame your hands to deal with the pain, the trick is to go through the first hard-as-hell solo without using star power. if you can achieve this, you can beat the song.
It's gunna be a while 'til you beat Jordan.
You gotta slow it down, preferably slowest, and then practice hammering-on and pulling-off. We all know what that is.
It took me a week to beat it. but that's because I deticate time.
1. Practice a lot (gtr break, solos a, b, c, solo f and bridge)
2. You must have a full rock meter going into solo A, B, and C
3. You must have a full star power meter going into solo B
4. You must get through the first break in solo B before you can use your star power, or else you probably won't get to the BNOF
5. If you really want to challenge yourself, try to tap the solo. Its hard but its the only way possible to FC it (which has never been done lol)
I can get through most of the beginning flawlessly, and then I get owned. exept for that one solo that repeats the same note four times and then switches... im really good at everything after that.
It was crazy! I saw this guy on YouTube beat Jordan on Expert 95%. In the middle of the song he started mashing the buttons with both hands. Then he missed a note and I was like, "OH NO!" It was awesome though.
In career mode after you have bought the alternate costume go to change guitarist and pick a guy and after you pick it will let you change there costume
In Medium, Hard or Expert mode, buy a new costume from the shop. Aftre that, go to "Select Charachter" and it will give you the option of which costume to wear.
When you get money, and buy the costumes you want, then go to change character and press the green fret button on the caharacter you bought the costume for. You can use the strum button to chose the new outfit.
No there is no career mode in co-op (which is ashame because that would be awesome). However, you get scores and ratings in co-op for the songs and there are 8 bass guitars that can be unlocked by playing songs in co-op mode
I had the same prob!
go to the practise screen and practice the sections that you have trouble with, and if im right it is the bridge and solo's
another trick is save all your start power, and use it at the hard bit, so the notes you hit increase the score by alot, and you dont need to hit as much notes as you would without star power
hope this helps!
I didnt have much of a problem with it, btu im going to recommend not to dopractice mode, its alot easier to do it at normal speed, even if it is in practice mode. but practice mode doesnt give any motivation, since you cant fail it. I only use it for certain solos, and such.
A way to beat woman on hard is if you keep practicing and keep practicing you will probably be able to finish the song if you get better at the game with practice mode
Same problem here. When I started playing guitar hero my buddy just told me what to do and I aced all of the medium level songs. Then when I went onto Hard in my career I just couldn't get through Woman. I went back to the practice area and still couldn't do it. Then I went back to 'lessons' and actually sat through the three different lessons. Lesson 3 is the key - hammerons and pull-offs will get you through Woman. I think its the first song you really need to use these on to get you through to the next stage.
I'm struggling with this one too. In case you haven't figured it out already, play most of the song in the second hand position (index on red) and use HOPOs for the bridge and solo. Also, that fast G-R-Y-B, G-R-Y-O section at the end of the bridge can be played better (for me) by sliding my hand down so my ring finger hits the blue. Then, if I need to hit orange I can just set my pinky on it.
Actually its like a real guitar and how you get better with it. electric guitar legends didnt get on the computer and ask. Everyone who is great has put in there time to be there. I remember when I got to the hard section and I realized that I wasn't thinking about the notes anymore. it came with practice. now im pro. good luck.
Ends on your playing style.
Mainly the best tip I can give you is to memorize your fingerings on comand. Try playing with the lower possition ( first finger on the 2nd button) and just stretch your first finger to hit green. Unless your hand is really small it should work without any problems.
I don't suggest going on practice and slowing down the song because you'd have to practice every song that would be hard for you.
2 thing to say 1) get the guitar..more fun. 2) yes it is. try holding down the L2 button or L1 and then enter the code. im not to sure what L it is so try them.if they dont work try the R ones.
You can enter cheats, but the dual shock controllers have a delay with games like guitar hero and time crisis and other not pad-style games, so it makes it much harder to enter the cheats fast enough
You get stars based on note percent AND score. Make better use of you star power, try to use it on sections with alot of notes and when you have 4x multiplier.
U have to play it on at least medium and its not percentage cause me and my friend played tonite I'm gunna rock you tonite and both got 100% and still only got 4 stars you have to get a certain amount of points.
The whole star system has absolutely nothing to do with the percentage of notes you get correct. The star system is based solely on your score. Each song has a set point range for each star rating. Sorta like: 30k-65k = 3 stars, 66k-99k = 4 stars, 100k+ = 5 stars. I have scored 5 star ratings for songs that I only made an 86% on. And on some songs, I get a 4 star rating even though I nail 96% of the notes. It's all about the score. Getting a 4X multiplier, then jacking it up to 8X with star power where there's a lot of notes.
If you want to get 5 stars, don't worry. just make a huge combo. Trust me, I 5-starred Free Bird on Expert with 83%. No joke! I just didn't mess up the slow part and the 1st part of the solo. All you have to do is just not mess up on stuff you could do.
Its not about the score or the percent, its about the average multiplyer. >2.0 for 3 stars, 2.0 for 4 stars, 2.8 for 5 stars.
no joke. I played several songs to figure this out. I got 2.7 on different songs and only got 4 stars. when I got 2.8 or higher on any song I got 5 stars. as far as I know this only applies to single player. co-op im certain is score related.
The third answer is totally bogus.
It's % and pts. According to "pts only" there's no way to get more than 3 stars on many of the songs (they are very short and with their highest possible score, using star power throughout, you can still only get about 55,000 pts. And that's definitely not fact, because I've gotten 5 stars SEVERAL times on short songs with
The 3rd answer is right.
It's about the points.
EACH song has a set range of points to get each star rating.
Keeping a good combo going is a good strategy to get a high score. Using star power to further higher your score is extremely helpful.
Ok look in co-op you will need both percentage and score, but they must work together. Like if one person gets 50% but the other gets 100 you will get 3 star. not only this but the scores must be good unless you both get 100 percent and dont use star power. Star power also counts, the less you use it the more stars.
I am going to have to go with the assumption that the song you played was Tonight I am Gonna Rock (Tonight), in any case, there are some songs that simply require one of you to be doing Hard mode to aquire enough points to achieve the rating. For ex: if you play TIGRT both on easy and both get 100% of the notes with no foul up s and using all the star power phrases in the correct point, you will still only get 4 stars. If you think I am wrong guitar gurus, try it yourself.
- its points not percentages that get you the star rating (with exception to five gold in single player)
You can sit there and not use ANY Star Power and get 5 stars... you have to get a high enough percentage on EACH SECTION OF THE SONG. To check how you did, go to "More Stats" after you finish the song. There's a cutoff percentage, and you have to get at least that much on EVERY SECTION to get 5 stars.
WOW! in Guitar Hero its all about your score. % has absolutely nothing to do with it. There is a certain score you need for different amounts of stars. You can get 60% on a song and still 5* it as long as you have a high enough score. If you think i'm wrong look at scorehero.com
I got a 98% on one song and only missed 5 notes and I still only got 4 stars! But then I played it again... and got a 95% and got 5 stars!1...yea thats crazy huh?...the video game makers come up with some bogus stuff! haha
Ok, hopefully I can end this whole chain of answers right here. the GH2 starring system is ONLY based on score. believe me, im about 5 songs from getting 5 stars on all expert songs. the percentage is just to tell you how you did, and where your strengths are. There is an exact point value you have to reach to get five star. I swear, some of these people are such noobs.
It's all based on points man...go to scorehero.com and it gives you the total score to beat for each song. If you do that then you get the amount of stars it says next to the score. I know people are saying stuff like its multiplyer and stuff but the truth is you probaly need a good enough multiplyer to get the points...but overall its points
On the Xbox 360 there is a way to download songs onto your console and play them through it; however there is not a way to do this on the Playstation 2.
Well, you should check if any of your friends or family know how to mod or hack before you do anything. If one of them can, you should definetly (sp?) ask him/her to mod the game for you. They will probably know how, too.
You have to check ur ps2 to see if it's modded or not, if it is you will see a special chip inside it. you also need GEX (guitar hero explorer) on your computer. it's long process but you can do it and it takes a little luck.
Ya G Ex is a thing on your comp that lets you put custom songs on GH2,me myself dont know how to do it...but I would like to find out and epecially get some AC/DC and Ramones, and Clash on there.
A2:
Gex (Guitar Hero Explorer) can be used on either guitar hero 1 or 2, Guitar Hero 2 is just plain easier to modify though.
This program will let you open the files on your disc via the dvdrom tray on your computer, Note must be the original disc not a copy YOURS NOT RENTED NOT STOLEN OR BORROWED MEANING BUY THE GAME AND THEN YOU MAY USE IT FOR YOURSELF AND NOT FOR SALE OR INFINGEMENT OF ANY KIND. If you can find a way to do that then your good. Anywho when you have the gex program open you should see a file button in the upper left hand corner press that and select Archive> copy from dvd (the dvd rom drive that you have YOUR game in). This may take a little while, then you go into the songs folder on the left hand side. You will notice a litle plus press that to open the folders when you get to the song you wish to replace you will see that there are more files then one? thats ok how do you think they make the star power sound different different track that is linked to it. just find the main vgs file
Ex. ftk.vgs NOT Ex. ftk.voc, ftk._p50vgs, ect
Just the main one some of the songs are a little different but once you get it well its easy.
Right Click on the vgs and hit import (select a mp3 or wav ect) and it will replace the song that was on there with the selected one. Well now that you got the song you want to hit the notes right?
Find the mid file next to the other files in the song folder (these mid files are listed at scorehero.com or can be made by you) and right click that you will choose import and find the corresponding mid file that matches your vgs that was a song you wanted.
Note you may find that the song and the notes do not match up this is due to the fact that people modify the songs when downloading the song or ripping it off of the cd they have, so the blank part in the begining may vary. If this is so then reimport the song but befor chosing the channels for the sound (left options are left channels and on the right is the right channels pretty simple) right click on the song and it will give you some options choose properties and you will see the option box with OFFSET in it, next to that you will see a box that you can fill in. These numbers are mesured in miliseconds so you have to kind tinker around you can go positive to bring the vgs to play later IF THE NOTES COME TO LATE or negitively IF THE NOTES COME TO SOON. Adjust that and the song should line up.
After you have finished you can just close the gex it is a program that modifies in real time so there is no saving just editing.
Now you have choices to make
-If you have a Ps2 hard drive (FFXI Game comes with it or at least search for a compatible one and format it using WinHiip) you can make an Iso using many programs (I use UtraISO it is simple) then open WinHiip and copy that to the hard drive that you connected to your computer and formatted. Select the Hard Drive it should say PS2 next to the option NOT PC. You will see the gray options blacken and then you press add you can just copy it via the game to the hard drive or from your made ISO, in this case your custom game is NOT ON THE ORIGINAL DISC so pick the ISO you made and it will add it to the hard drive in PS2 format.
When your done, shut down your computer and remove the hard drive and insert it into the ps2 slot in the back (there is a removable spot in the back of a FAT PS2 the thin ones have another method of achiving a softmod with a USB HARD DRIVE but the Ps2 Fat does not go well with the USB so stick with INTERNAL HARD DRIVE. This option is best cause you don't waste dvdRs and it will not get scratched or lost (by the way to connect the hard drive to the ps2 you will need the 10 dollar eathernet connection piece for the back.
-Burn it to a disc, pick your ISO and burn it to a DVDR when you do this use QUALITY MEDIA I mean the dvdr should be a compatible one not
Ex. Imation or other cheap ones but Ex. Sony and others are good.
These things take some time to learn from modifying your PS2 to making your songs, a lot of reading will help you but unless you know what you are doing your not going to get very far... Look throught the internet for answers they ARE there just search for them.
My ps2 was doing the same thing and throwing the music off beat... my disk was brand new and had no scratches... I ended up taking my ps2 appart and cleaning the laser lense... be careful when doing so though... dont touch the lense with your fingers... use 2 q-tips and isopril alcohol... use one dry q-tip to hold down the laser and the other (with alcohol) to clean it...
Your ps2 needs to be cleaned and sometimes if you leave your disk out of its case and its not IN the ps2, dust will get on it and leave scrathces. If there are a lot of scratches on your disk, try putting alcohol on it and wipe it off with a Q-tip
Sumthing might be wrong with your ps2 or your xbox 360 , or your cd is scratched .. it does the same thing to me sometimes , but when it does that , it means you'll have to get another ps2 or CD
Well one of my 360 games has messed up before and I took my friends advise and I will pass it to you. put some normal toothpaste on your disk all around in the silver part,NOT the clear center.then what you do is rince off the toothpaste in warm water.pat dry and then try to play.make sure to use colgate or something like that because some toothpast will just dammage the disk.Rock on my fellow rockers! -Answer by:asqurttgun
