Q: Last Battle: How can I get Durza in the last battle?

Q: At the first boss mob fight, the urgal chieftain in the forest where the girl unlocks the bridge for you after you find the sashes... I can only get the chieftain down about 1/6 of his health before he kills me. How do you beat this fellow? Also, I don't understand the special moves. I know the fast attack 6 and the strong attack 3. But how do you activate these? It doesn't seem to be simply using the attack type 6 or 3 times.
