Q: When i press ~ the console menu doesn't come up and nothing happens. Is there another way to acess console menu?

A1: I had the same problem, on my keyboard its the '/@ button next to the ~

A2: Make sure that you use the english language for your keyboard... even though you use another lanaguage type keyboard (like deutsch or such)... then pres the key next to 1 and it should work

Q: How do you get this "console" menu in order to enter the cheat codes? When I press the ~ button but nothing happens??

A1: Hmm i was going though my list trying to get it up and in the end i got it by the @ button =S

A2: Try the @ key - some keyboards have weird layouts!

A3: Press the @ key '

A4: On Swedish keybords its Ö

A5: On Danish keyboards, it's Æ

A6: Press the "@" key.

A7: On Spanish keyboards, press ñ

A8: On Portuguese Keyboards press "Ç"

Q: How do I make a unit that has 2 word name??? in create_unit

A1: Create_unit Toledo "Chivalric Knights" 3 3 3 3 just copy what I did but change out the unit name.

A2: To create a unit of Dismounted Feudal Knights it would be.... create_unit "city or castle name" "Dismounted Feudal Knights" 5 9 9 9. It is cap sensivtive and you can't create all units. for example when playing as England you can't create Retinue Longbowmen or Armoured Swordsmen.

A3: To create units with two word names, use quotation marks arund the words. For example, to create 4 units of max level/armor/wpn Teutonic Knights in Frankfurt, one would type: creat_unit Frankfurt "Teutonic Knights" 4 9 3 3

A4: Use quote marks, for example "create_unit Rufus "Dismounted English Knights" 5 9 3 3 that'll give 5 dismounted english knights all with full experience, weapon and armour.

A5: You can create armoured swordsmen but you need to use american spelling " Armored". i'm still working on the retinue archers.

A6: To make Retinue Longbowmen you use the name Dismounted Longbowmen

A7: But how do I enter quotes? as I have to change my keyboard language to english...when I type at the quotes it comes @@

Q: How do I change my faction heir?

A1: Go into your family tree and find a BLOOD,MALE RELATIVE(son) and then double click his portrait.That should work.

A2: You can't change your Faction Heir it works in the same way as a Monarchy in real life, the faction heir is normally the oldest son of the present faction leader however if he has no children it will go to his brother or uncle etc..

A3: I am afraid to sya you cant, unfortunately the creative assembly left that one out this time :(

Q: I see alot of the give_trait function however sometimes I want to remove_trait when me general is randomly given a bad one or he is maxed out on traits. The problem is that the bad trait on my general list has a different code in the console window. It works if you knoe the base like remove_trait this drink when your general is an alcholic. However ignorant and mad and others are hard to identify. Is there any list of the base codes for removing bad traits?

A1: Just make the value of the 'bad trait' Zero. For example: give_trait this Hypochondriac 0 - this will cancel out this trait.

Q: What year does the game end at that you can't play anymore?

A1: 1510 I think

A2: I am on 1976 now....

A3: AFAIK it never ends. I believe it ends when your civilization is crushed and you fail, or when you counter the supposed amount of areas and Rome/Constantinople/Jerusalem (depending on your civ). Then again, 1510 would be reasonable... Not sure.

Q: How do i het to america?

A1: Wait until the stearing device is developed by indian sailors

A2: You have to get a ship that can go full ocean, for example, wtih the english faction, you use the carracks

A3: Go all the way to the top left of the campain screen you cant miss it

A4: Hey the only way for u to get to america and the aztecs is when u get to 150 turns and the world is round. then u have to build the next shipyard and a special boat that can only get there.

Q: I know that the indians have to create a steering device for you to get to america. the question is when is it developed. like a year or turn or how close to the end of the game. I know it is fairly close, inside 100 turns.?

A1: 165 turns

A1: Yeah when u get a black screen across your game type in "add_money 40000", that will give u 40,000 money, so basically it says error command or something then it is wrong

Q: How do I get my assassins traits up?

A1: To get assasin skill up kill very easy targets or sabotage rebel settlements, works for me now augustine the killer has full subterfuge muahahahahhaha

Q: Is there any mod that will let you get to amarica early?

A1: Yes. Use the cursor_stat cheat and the cheat for moving a unit. use the cursor_stat cheat to find some coordinates in the very SW section of the game...it's much easier if FOW is turned off, btw. then just move as many stacks as you want to the Americas. I normally cank the Incas in the first turn or three, just so I Have a guaranteed money making zone, free from bother by other idiots. for North America, I'll take the cities there, and "sell" them off later on, just for fun and good world rep.

A1: Just hit the Tilde ~ key!

A2: Some times the console only comes up with the @ button on your keyboard

A1: You need origninal name, or better yet just do give_trait this "this" replaces the name, so ya

A2: Use quotes. Example: give_trait "John Smith" GoodCommander 5 You can also select the character (so that their movement field is showing) and use "this" instead of their name (i.e. give_trait this GoodCommander 5).

A1: Try "give_trait this 'trait' '#' " with the character selected

A1: You make sure your character is outside the city or castle,select him,open the console ( ~ ) and type give_trait this GoodCommander 5 or what ever the trait depends the character whether is a diplomat or princess or assassin etc.

Q: How can I stop another army capturing a city and completing a crusade?

A1: When the army goes to attack your city highlight all the solders in your city/castle and a sword will appear right click on the attackers when the screan pops up hit the ~ then type in auto_win defender note: it will have to be auto matically resolved this cheat does not work if you fight the battle your self

Q: I can only play with christian factions... how do I play with the muslim ones?

A1: U either defeat them or win a campaign (long or short)
