Q:How come it won't let me give a trait to characters with two names? how can i give characters with two names a trait (like John Smith)
A1:
You need origninal name, or better yet just do
give_trait this
"this" replaces the name, so ya
A2:
Use quotes.
Example: give_trait "John Smith" GoodCommander 5
You can also select the character (so that their movement field is showing) and use "this" instead of their name (i.e. give_trait this GoodCommander 5).

Q:Hey, I have no clue of how to unlock all the factions can someone please tell me! Thanks?
A1:
Find the folder for Medieval 2 on your hard drive, it should be SEGA. Open them in this order: SEGA > Medieval Total War II > data > world > maps > campaign > imperial_campaign > descr_strat.txt
WARNING: MAKE A BACK-UP OF THE descr_strat.txt OR ANY FILE BEFORE EDITING. SAVE TO DESKTOP TO AVOID RE-INSTALLING TO RECOVER THE ORIGINAL.
Open the descr_strat and there should be a section right in front of you that list the factions as "Playable" "Unlockable" and "Non-Playable." Without major modding, you can copy and paste any name into the "Playable" section and they will be available when you choose a campaign. There are also MANY MANY MANY other things that you change change/manipulate from this file, but ask for help before doing so, and make a back-up of the file to save the original.
EXCEPTION: The only factions you cannot play without modding are The Mongols, Timurids, and Aztecs.
A2:
When you are choosing what faction to be, notice how you can choose between short and long campaign. each campaign has a different goal/goals you must complete to "beat the game". if you want to get other factions quickly, you should choose the short campaign of your favorite nation. to get the other factions quickly, you should reach the goal as quickly as possible (obviously). but this means that you cant worry about your religious status, how happy your people are, or any random missions that lead you away from your main goal.
A3:
To unlock all the factions you must win the long version of the campaign with one of the 5 basic factions... after you are victorius then you can go back and do another campaign with any of the other factions (exceptions of mongol, timurid, aztec, and papal states of course)
A4:
actualy all you have to do is the short verson of the grand campain ps go saint jimmy and the forty thiefs

My fleet is constantly being attacked by pirates... I've tried to type Cog and Holk after it like I would do with Longbowmen but it doesn't work.
A1:
To get ships just use lower case lettersfor the name of the ship. EG
create_unit "Rennes""carrack" 1 9 3 3

Q:I am in the 109th turn and my corruption level reached 20000 florins per turn... it is too much and I cant go on because I cant support new developed armies... how do I get my corruption level to go down?thanks in advance
A1:
Ouch thats nasty mate, check out all your characters' influence on towns by looking at the difference they make when you place them in cities and out of them. I have the same thing sometimes, you have to sort out the financially adept characters from the inept. Good luck.
A2:
Try to change our capital in middle of our kingdom.
Europe to the Moors
A3:
Just use the add_money cheat to periodicly boost your amount of florins and when it starts to get low just do it again.

Q:When I try to give a trait to a person with two or more names, I get an error message that says the character cant be found. Do I have to have a special key ore something between first name and surname?
A1:
Try putting scare quotes ("") around the person's full name. Or use "this" while selecting the character.
A2:
If it's someone with just two names, e.g Alexander Canmore, then you just type 'create_unit "Alexander Canmore" "Spear Militia" 5 0 3 3'. However, if it's someone with a three part name, e.g Charles de Marseilles, then you would type 'create_unit "Charles de_Marseilles" "Spear Militia" 5 0 3 3'.

First off, at about 150 turns, the event 'The World is Round!' will appear.
Then, some unexplored map pops up on your minimap, and depending on your faction, you use Caravels or Carracks to cross the ocean and can go to Cuba, some bits of Norht America, and South AMerica. -Answer by:Warluster

Q:The Auto win code will not work! It is so annoying! :(?
A1:
I believe the auto-win code only works if you simulate the battle, that is, not play it yourself. Make sure you're typing: auto_win attacker for when you are initiating battle or: auto_win defender when battle is initiated by someone else.
A2:
The syntax is: auto_win attacker or auto_win defender.
