In the Wii Co-op mission two of Kinshasa (scan the red mercury cargo), how do you get to the other side of the gaping hole after you go past the machine gun on the rail?

NY side tower, been in lift, spoke with Enrica and took out 2 guards in room along corridor. Moved up stairs to next section, grills across some areas, down few steps door ajar - here is the problem. Managed to kill those inside from outside doorway but can't get door to budge so can't get in - door is still ajar but tried everything it won't open properly and let me in and can't find any alternative routes to this area from previous room and corridor - is it me or a bug? (Solo play on Wii). Hope someone can help.

In the second level? not sure, in coop for the wii there is a room with a steam valve, and a glass looking room and there is a way to drop down one of the agents through the top of the glass room, to use the computer we did that, we turned the steam off if we go back into the hall way theres a tripod looking thing that will shoot you, now how do we get out?
